When someone mentions spooky songs in Nintendo games, nothing quite sends chills up my spine like the theme of the alien being of vast power, Giygas! Unlike a lot of the other tunes I cover on the channel, this theme does not offer much in the way of memorable or catchy melodies, but what it lacks in that it more than makes up for in a lot of cool sound samples that turned out to be super fun to flip for a remix! I wanted to take the noise music to a new level with this one, so I hope you enjoy! Stow your fears, say your prayers and get ready for Giygas!

yes, the title sounds dramatic and I like it
every time I read “The War Against Giygas” my mind just instantly goes to yellow and red static, that faintly ominous and scary music sample (you know the one, it was even in _a certain heavily disputed song_ ) and I see a UFO attacking a gas station.

What makes Giygas truly terrifying is that we don’t know what he feels, the amount of immeasurable pain and agony must be alarming and I fear what Giygas went through.

This is such a great pick for the scary season, the sampling in this remix is done really well, and I love the hopeful nature of 2:33, this remix does an amazing job at keeping the terrifying vibes of Giygas

Great to see that there's still people giving the MOTHER series the love that nintendo is too *stupid* to give.
If I remember correctly, the same folks who made Earthbound made the Kirby series, which both explains why Kirby final bosses are always... You know... As well as why there hasn't been a new game.
The funny part is, the MOTHER series is extremely popular in Japan. Almost on the same level as Dragon Quest. Yet for some reason Nintendo still doesn't care about this amazing trilogy.

Every time I hear that "dooooo" sound, all that comes to mind is Undertale's amalgam and I think that fits perfectly.
Well Undertale has the same sound font, Giygas was sampled multiple times in songs like Barrier, and one of the amalgams is based off of Giygas, so can’t blame ya there

Man that was good, mixing prayer for safety and the melodies and ending with the SSSMAAASHH! sound really gave this the feeling that the chosen 4 didn't make it this time.
(I kinda wish it was a little longer and Giygas' "it hurts..it hurts..it hurts..it hurts" line was in there but over all great remix)
Holy crap it's actually Giygas' theme, kinda expected Pokey Means Business because that's what everyone says Giygas' theme is for some reason.

This feels like how I felt when I first heard “Shambhalla: Area 17 Redux” in Fire Emblem Three Houses, where I was just like “wait what?! Dubstep in my Fire Emblem?!”
This isn’t dubstep lol, but it’s a similar feeling of like “wait who’s hold on, I did not expect this at all after everything that’s been happening”

I think Earthbound truly achieved a proper "inexplicable enemy". Seeing this... thing, which was once a scared lil space noodle driven to... this, his bangin metal theme reduced to whatever the FUCK we have here when porky releases him from the machine... It's something I think could only be done once. Giygas deserved better.
I like how people use t scariest Earthbound ambience and find the fun in it by remixing it.

I feel like with how upbeat this remix is I could somehow see this being used for some type of secret ending where you save giygas? Like somehow make him come to his senses or restore him to normal or something. This remix just gives me those vibes, especially after the 8 melodies part.
