Absolutely angers me that group desecrates God's rainbow by using it for themselves. I try to accept people as they are, but these people really get to me. I can pray for forgiveness for myself for feeling angry, but God chooses not to take my anger away, so I'm wondering if I'm justified in continuing to feel anger.

A distinction here with honoring parents needs to be made. Yes, the word says to honor our parents. But we are not to do that at all costs. A person or child who is being abused (physically and sexually) needs to be seperated from the Parents until it is safe (if they change)to be back in their presence. I was very badly, physically and sexually abused by my dad and mom through my teenage years, even into my young adulthood until I got the strength to seperate from them. My dad was an evil mean man who loved to torment his 4 daughters and others if he could get to them. When I became a believer in Yeshua Jesus, I got the strength from Abba Father to get away from my parents and for 15 years worked on my healing. I was able in a letter to confront my parents about what they did but was verbally attacked by them through letters. I did forgive my parents and I prayed for them. Sometimes the only way you can honor parents, yet keep yourself and sanity intact is to honor them in prayer.

Thank you 🙏🏻 for saying ALL OF THIS, for I too went through the same, and for probably the same amount of time, been separated from my adoptive mother, but my adoptive father died in 2001, so I am left with so much guilt becuz he asked for my forgiveness and I told him NO, a couple weeks later he dropped dead working in his yard‼️I went to the hospital cuz I felt so much guilt over NOT FORGIVING HIM, that I leaned down as if he could hear me and told him I forgave him, and then I asked GOD to do the same for me‼️They, I don’t believe, we’re evil people, I believe it was the demon that I always saw in the house we lived in when it would wake me up to come to the hallway in pitch darkness, like it was summoning me to it and I would stand there screaming yet no one heard my screams or my beating on my parents door 🚪 to let me in, I’d often wake up with this raggedy woman stabbing needles into my sister in the other bed 🛏️, my most memorable night that I was awakened, I believe I saw why the demon had not yet itself gotten me or my TRUE BIOLOGICAL SISTER, to come to it, cuz my room was covered in a brilliant bright white light, and my window curtains both began to raise to the ceiling, and the BRILLIANT LIGHT HAD SOMETHING STANDING IN FRONT OF IT, A BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL ANGEL, and she simply smiled and nodded, as if to inform me that we were being protected from the demon actually getting us, kind of like Job in the BIBLE 📖, where thing’s bad did happen to Job but the evil one could NOT HAVE HIM OR KILL HIM, so same as me‼️The demon could make my parents do horrible things to us, but it could not have us, if this makes sense, and I TRULY HOPE YOU GET TO READ THIS, cuz it’s a lot of typing I know, but I’m in full agreement with you that once I quit going around my mom I began to heal my mind and heart ♥️, so that I could UNDERSTAND that my sister and I were SOMEHOW SPECIAL, and that GOD DID PROTECT MY MIND & HEART ♥️, from very dark evil, that was either attached to my parents or my Sister & I‼️I now ONLY DWELL IN THE LIGHT❣️Thanks 🙏🏻 again for your BRAVE POST, and God Bless ALL, especially if you read my entire post❣️ 🙏🏻🥰🙏🏻

So true! I'm an adult adoptee survivor of childhood sexual, physical and emotional abuse from my adoptive parents. The system completely failed my siblings and I (we were older kids when we were adopted - 5, 7, 9). My adoptive parents have never been held criminally accountable, though I wanted to have them prosecuted, but honored my brother and sister's wishes. I have forgiven my parents and I wish no ill will/harm to them today. I pray that God forgives them (they have never asked for our forgiveness and act like it never happened....my adoptive dad says we asked for it and enjoyed it). But by me forgiving them does not mean I want a relationship with them. I am cordial when I see them and talk to them (I live over 3K miles away). However, it does bother me that sister and brother does still have a relationship with our adoptive parents inso much that they allowed their children and grandchildren to spend the night alone with them. Each time I ask my sister about it she always throws the verse "Honor thy Father and Mother" at me. I love my adoptive parents, but I also believe that it's 100% my responsibility as an adult and aunt to protect my nieces and nephews at all costs and I would think that would be my siblings' priority with their children/grandchildren too. I suspect the reason they do it is because my adoptive parents still financially support them (my sister is a single mother and both my of my siblings live in the Deep South with jobs that don't pay well). I personally do not think that by "honoring thy father and mother" doesn't mean that they should be held accountable for their actions just as they held me accountable for my actions as a child. The best way I can honor my adoptive father and adoptive mother is to continue to pray for them that I will see them again one day in Heaven.

I think many people have a misunderstanding of forgiveness of sin. The sinner must repent and ask forgiveness. Meaning they must turn away from the sin and not continue in sin. Then praise the Lord we are forgiven. That doesn't mean the sinner will not suffer the repercussions of sin. Meaning a sinner may still have to deal with things that take place as a result of their sin. An example might be if one steals it is a sin and they can be forgiven but they will also have to make restitution .

I honestly don't know if parents, or one's elders, have ever been so disrespected by their younger generations. There are many fine, respectful people of the younger generations. But as a whole, society devalues people more as they age. It's such a shame because there's so much valuable information that can be extracted from the life experiences and knowledge of eolder & elderly people.

      WHAT is the BIBLICAL Docrtrine
      of ELECTION and PREDESTINA
      TION?
      Jesus revealed this doctrine of
      Election and Predestination in
the parable of Wheat and Tares
      In this parable, Jesus revealed
the doctrine of election and pre
      destination..and who are those
      people who are predestined to
      be saved, and those predestined
to be burned in the lake of fire..
      Jesus revealed in this parable
      that those who are predestined
to be saved are the children of
      God literally..
      And those who are predestined
to be cast to the Lake of fire
are the children of the devil
      literally..
      Adam and his descendants are
      the children of God because
Adam is a true son of God as
      revealed in Luke 3:38...
      Cain and his descendants are
      the children of the devil
because Cain is the seed of the
      serpent(devil) as mentioned in
      Genesis 3:15...
Cain is not the son of Adam, he
is not included in the Genealogy
      of Adam in Genesis 5...
Cain has his own Genealogy in
      Genesis 4.. all the descendants
of Cain are very evil people like
      him...
      Jesus revealed in this parable
also that there are only 2 kinds
of people in the world, they are
the children of God literally and
the children of the devil literally
The children of God are called
Elect, and the children of the
      devil are called reprobates...
      Sometimes Jesus called the
      Elect Sheep and the Reprobate
      Goat.. All the Elect are
      predestined to be saved, and
      all the Reprobates are
predestine to be burned in the
      Lake of Fire...
Jesus gave His Life only for the
      Sheep(Elect) John 10:15
EXAMPLE of the children of the
devil can be found in John 8:44
EXAMPLE of the children of God
can be found in Psalm 82:6 and
      in Romans 8:14..
      Having the knowledge of the
      Parable of Wheat and Tares
      can answer the age-old
      Mystery of what will happen
to a newly born child who
died or to the unborn fetus
      who died in the womb..
      GOD BLESS YOU ALL WHO
      BELIEVES IN THIS REVELATION
      OF JESUS IN THE PARABLE
      OF WHEAT and TARES...

If that was the case, what happened to his own wife? You see, people tend to say things without thinking twice only to realise after that they are in error. It is likely that Noah didn't have female children immediately his grandsons were born. So, Canaan allowed sexual thoughts to cloud his reasoning like Cain, therefore, the only thing he could summise in his thoughts was get my grandfather drunk and satisfy this urge. That was the act. His father, Ham saw it and did nothing than to broadcast it outside. It is not proper for a child to look at his or her parents's nakedness. That is why parents cover themselves well before their children in order to prevent such a thing from happening.

The problem with the metaphoric interpretation of "uncovered nakedness" is the behavior of Shem and Japeth in the story. If it does mean Ham had relations with his own mother, then Shem and Japeth walking backwards into the tent and covering their fathers nakedness makes no sense. You can't unbang your mother.

I am surprised the extended explanation wasnt covered - that Ham slept with Noah's wife, and Canaan resulted from that adultery, thus prohibiting Noah from ever knowing his wife ever again. It is assumed that Ham was put to death for his transgression, and perhaps Noah's wife also, after she had the child. The timing is not explicitly called out, so the curse, and other consequences, might have happened a year later. I know there is a lot of assumption in this interpretation, but the consequences make better sense in this context.

No, the Word doesn't say he slept with his own mother, to understand why the curse came, you have to understand nakedness in the Jewish culture... They do not allow full nakedness, or even the showing of undergarments in their culture, it is an intense shame.... Because he saw his father's nakedness and then told his brothers about it in a laughing manner, he brought shame upon himself, where as if he would have done what his brothers did and covered his father and not told anyone, he probably would not have been cursed this way.... It's important to understand the cultural significance of the times and the people when making an argument

    • @kjs0391

@dolorescovington403 to discover his nakedness in the text can and does mean all four things. The specifics have been obscured a bit but they all come down to violation. It can mean questioning out of turn and undermining. In lore they say he complained on the ark about being there, losing his friends, etc. It can mean, as you said him passed out nekkid. Then he gossiped about it. He didn't help. The other boys respected and corrected the situation. But can also be like Lot's daughters.

Tell the truth. When the Bible speaks of “uncovering nakedness,” it is usually referring to some type of sexual sin, perversion, or dishonor. The bible does not say Ham saw his father's nakedness "accidently" btw. not trying to argue, I agree that the Nakedness of the Father means he slept his his morher/noah’s wife and why Canon was cursed, but where do you get it was “accidentally”? even the septuagint reads it simply as happening and no mention of the word ατύχημα for accident. Jist curious if that’s your interpretation or you had a source that includes his act being accidental. Though I do think him telling his brothers of the act shows possible Guilt.

So I think the message is to pray on it when it is effecting you and heal with Jesus. He will make things right. You can show respect without being close to the ones harming or who have harmed you. I can see how Noah cursed Canaan vs Ham… that would be an even tougher sentence then directly to Ham, because Canaan would know it was his own father who caused such strife for him. Oofda… I hope Ham asked forgiveness in the end but I won’t know until I’m at the end myself. Very thought provoking.

Genesis 9 does NOT say that Ham ACCIDENTALLY saw his father naked, it says he uncovered the nakedness of his father. This means Ham committed a sexual crime against his father.
The scripture at Genesis chapter 10 hints at what that crime was when it repeatedly says that Ham was the father of Canaan, yet lists Canaan as a fourth and youngest son of Noah.
Ham had violated his own mother in order to usurp his father's headship and take over the tribe. This is why Canaan was cursed and Ham took Noah's land, naming the city after his son Canaan.
And this is also why Ham bragged to his brothers about what he had done. He was now head of the tribe. He wanted his bothers to follow him. They proved that they did not follow him when they covered their father's nakedness. Noah blessed them.

The bible says Noah got drunk and became uncovered in his tent And Ham the father of Canaan saw the nakedness of his father.
Your deceiving people by telling them Ham uncovered nakedness when the bible says he saw his Nakedness.
When God saved Ham from the flood with his family they all received the same blessings from God.
God also made covenants with Ham and his family and all of their descendants. Ham was there with his family when God made the rainbow in the sky and told them to be fruitful and multiply, this proves that it was God's intention for Ham to repopulate the earth with his brothers. So our existence as Hamites is all part of the plan. You just have a problem with us because you believe lies told about Ham.
Doesn't make sense for Ham to usurp Noah when Noah was just an old drunk who didn't have anything. No Concubines, no gold, no army, no castle, no priceless possessions so your speculation on usurping makes no sense. Bible doesn't say Ham mocked anyone it says he told his brothers what he had saw.

      @ezkl9424 8 месяцев назад

      @@CushiteChristian,
I am not demonstrating any hatred whatsoever towards Ham. You're not reading what I wrote correctly.
The narrator clearly gives several scenarios concerning what occurred between Ham and Noah. I'm demonstrating that I favor the one whereas Ham entered his father's tent uninvited, thereby seeing his father in an uncovered state and dishonored him.
What would be the scenario whereas Noah would be uncovered in the privacy of his own tent? The scenarios which require nakedness would be bathing, sleeping, and sexual conduct. It is considered dishonorable to view your parents in any of these situations. Noah likely enjoyed wine with his meal and sex with his wife. He likely passed out and fell asleep after this as many people do in this situation.
Ham clearly entered the tent uninvited, thereby uncovering the nakedness of his father just by entering. But the fact that the Bible tells us that Ham is the father of Canaan, indicates that something more went on in that tent.
Noah was passed out, therefore was unable to defend his wife who was also uncovered in the tent. Ham saw an opportunity to usurp his father's headship and take over leadership of the tribe. The way to do this is to take all that his father owns, starting with his wife, who may or may not have been Ham's own mother.
It's possible that Ham's mother may have either died before the flood, or refuse to get on the ark. Remember that Noah made the ark from the timbers of his own house. God told him to tear down the house and build an ark. Imagine a wife watching her husband dismantle her house while they're still trying to live in it. That may have been grounds for divorce for her.
There is also an apocryphal book which states that Noah's wife did, in fact die shortly before the flood. This would mean Noah would have had to choose another wife quickly. Either way, it would have been considered incestuous for Ham to take his father's wife.
Nevertheless, Ham's clear motive in taking his father's wife is to usurp his father's headship because the Book of Jasher also explains that he took his father's staff of authority, as well as his father's priestly ephod, and his father's choice land.
The reason for Ham's actions may have been that he was annoyed with his father's unwillingness to allow the brothers to start building cities on the exposed land. Even though Noah had distributed the land evenly among his sons, it's very likely that the floodwaters had not receded off of Ham's land at that time. He may have been impatient to start building, rather than continue living in tents.
The narrator gives an abundance of scripture to support this possible scenario, without even touching the apocryphal books of Jasher and Enoch which lend detail to the story.
Noah curses Canaan, not Ham or all Black people, in spite of the fact that it is Ham's sin. Why could this possibly be?
A disease or a handicap is also referred to as a curse in the Bible. If Canaan was the child of Ham and his own mother, he may well have been born with curses related to incest. This would explain why Noah made the statement; "cursed is Canaan, to serve his brothers...".
There is absolutely no indication of a curse on Ham, or all Black people here. It clearly says that Canaan is cursed. Canaan is one person.
In addition, there was a city named Canaan, and a tribe named after Canaan. It is possible that Noah may have been referring to one of these. The scripture isn't clear but, is typically interpreted to refer to Ham's son Canaan.
However history is clear, that Blacks have been taken into slavery at a greater number for a longer period of time than most other races. This may be in fulfillment of the prophecy against Canaan, however not all of Ham's sons were so cursed. Ham had other sons listed at Genesis chapter 10 who were not cursed at all.
You are angry at me for what the Bible says and for what the narrator pointed out. I am simply going with the weight of scripture as to the interpretation, with the addition of the apocryphal books for detail.

When i was in my elementary days, I've read a book about this chapter, about this narrative authored by an american preacher/pastor. Nakedness here means Canaan had a sexual intercourse with Noah. The 3 sons of Noah, accirding to age: first Shem, second is Ham and third and Noah's youngest son is Japheth. They are Noah's 3 sons. The phrase, "what he has done by his youngest son," means what he (Canaan) has done by his (Ham's) youngest son (Canaan). That's why Noah cursed Canaan. And i think this is clearer explanation that I've ever read in my whole life. That makes sense. But anyway, all curses in our lives have been banished when Jesus redeemed us by His finished redemptive works on the cross. When we put (and those who would put) our faith in Jesus Christ, we are saved and our names are written in heaven. How awesome is our God. Praise God. That's why God comanded us through our Lord Jesus to make disciples from Jerusalen and all Judeah and all Samaria and to the uttermost part of the earth. Meaning, we Christians, children of God, Believers, Saints , Members of God's household, which is the Family of God, members of Body of Christ, whic is the church of God , which is the Bride of Christ, have given different tasks, duties and responsibilities to accomplish through us Gods purpose. The Great Commission. To spread the Word of God, to preach the Gospel. That's why Isaiah 52:7 says, "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation who say to Zion, "YOUR GOD REIGNS." Who else to proclaim? Of couse we, who have faith in Christ. We have repented our sins and received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior --- the Savior of the world. And believed in His name and keep on believing until He comes. Believe here, is an action verb, to do and to obey Jesus' commands. Jesus is telling His disciples and all His disciples, including our generation and the future generations. That if we really love Him, we must follow His teachings and obey Him, we will do His commands. Amen and Amen. HALLELUJAH! Glory to God. Happy reading with our insights. God bless you all and always stay safe and healthy my brothers and sisters in Christ. 🙌🙌🙌💒💒💒✝️✝️✝️🙏🙏🙏

It's critical to understand the WHOLE Scripture, like Leviticus 18:7, Ham's lineage, and Scriptural patterns that point to the sin of Ham potentially being sexual relations with his parents. You'll notice the Sumerian Stones also suggest this, and the world religions (which all descend from Ham's Egyptian religion) contain a core "mother-son" component. The Israelites receiving this from Moses would be very familiar and get it right away.
Even more than just the physical aspect of raping your parents, there's the psychological and spiritual aspect that demonstrates dominance and usurpation.

2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.
And whyyyyy does this matter - because not only were clean animals used for sacrificial purposes before Christ became our sin offering, but also because not all things modern people like to call food, is even clean for His children. He describes what is clean to eat and what is not. And no it is not merely 'old testament' so 'done away with', God forbid, for God is unchanging and everlasting and blessed is His law and all of His right ways. Not only that but Christ Himself is the Word of God made flesh, hardly one to go against even the most minute detail of the father, and further still declared to all that he did NOT come to do away with the law, but to fulfill it.... well, He is not one to double-speak is he? This means that if you think, or someone told you, that fulfilling, is the same as 'doing away with', you have been lead astray by a wolf. Christ fulfilled the fullness of the law to break off us the curse of the law, and provide, through Himself and His blood atonement (being the perfect, blameless Lamb of God, without sin), so that we might be reconciled unto the father - unworthy as we are - and given a path to salvation, not based on works, but given as a gift, by faith through grace. We are, however, warned by Christ Himself, and all of His prophets, NOT to become lawless, as He hates that, and those will be who He turns away on That Day, saying He never knew them. To know, means to intimately get acquainted with and form a relationship with... Can you do that, assuming for yourself that half the Bible does not 'apply to you' because you 'have Jesus' and He 'did it all on the cross'...? Sounds kinda contradictory doesn't it, when you stop to reason, and realize that SIN, literally, is defined as transgression - the breaking or violating of - God's Law. Every time, in every book of the Cannon, in every version of the Bible we can read... Sin is the breaking of God's Law...none of us are without sin, or we'd have no need of a Savior.... Wake up little children, come out of her my people, be ye separate. Time is short, Christ is coming soon, you have much to learn. God bless you. Seek Christ while there is still time.

We weren't even in flesh bodies then. Now we live in the second earth and heaven age in flesh. There are THREE earth and heaven ages- II Peter 3:5-7. Wouldn’t the nakedness be of the shame Adam and Eve felt once they turned from Gods command and ate from the tree of life which gave them Conciousness of there being in which they knew they were naked and felt shame so therefore the nations of Noah’s sons would then continue the pursuit of Gods covenant by the blessings of Noah a man of God who would further the agenda but instead Ham would identify the shame in Noah instead of what he would provide as a conduit of God. So his son or nation of ppl would be cursed bc of a misdirection of act or behavior towards Gods plan like Kane did to able bc he didn’t work with purpose and serve god properly and expected blessing even though he didn’t provide through character and spirit to show Gods presence through his work on earth.

It was Ham laid with his mother to conceive Canaan. Punishment usually fits a crime, right? Also, you have giants before the flood and the flood was to destroy what should’ve never been (Genesis 6, fallen angels, etc) however you have Goliath, Og of Bashaan, etc. all giants. Where did they come from? Hint: the giants were Canaanites. 😉 study it out, pray about it. This is just something most people never think about. (PS, the book of Jasher says that Noah’s wife was Naamah who was Lamech’s daughter in the lineage of Cain…. another tidbit to think on.)

As far as the curse effecting Canaan's descendants, let's remember that 8 of the 12 sons of Jacob had children from their Hamitic wives or concubines. Some of the Hamitic wives were Canaanites. Jesus had several people in his lineage that were of Canaanite or other Hamite origin.

Canaan is a name of Hebrew origin which means 'to be brought down by a heavy load' or 'to be humiliated'. The sin of Ham was to uncover his father's nakedness. In other parts of scripture the man's nakedness is his wife. Therefore Ham had sex with his mother while Noah was drunk. Possibly Noah's wife was drunk and uncovered too, or maybe she participated willingly. We don't have enough information to surmise that. However, Noah as the husband of the woman who bore Canaan, reserved the right to name the child, otherwise how do you explain any man or woman naming their child 'to be humiliated'? or 'to be brought down by a heavy load'? He even says that he will be a servant of servants to his brothers and immediately mentions Shem and Yapheth, specifically that Canaan is to serve, because of course, he is a half-brother to them.

Noah did not curse Ham, he cursed Canaan. As Genesis 9:24-25, says And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. If you Read Genesis 9, Noah could not curse Ham because God had blessed him along with Noah and his brothers. No one can curse what God has blessed. What is not written is why Canaan was cursed and not Ham’s other three sons. What else folks seem to get wrong is Ham is the father of Cush but Cush was not cursed only Canaan.
