That bike may be sick in every way accept it's looks now, headlights look even worst than before and that huge monstrosity of an exhaust on the side looks out of place. However, when you throw a leg over the bike looks doesn't matter. Just expressing my opinion.
I agree, the asymmetrical headlights have always looked stupid. Two round lights up front would improve the looks dramatically. Same thing with the side fairings. Shark gills on both sides would be nicer. It's still a BMW, and I would never own anything BMW makes.
But in real life they do not look that bad for some reason. Not that they become a swan but you can get away with it. But that exhaust is a total no no. And yes those gills are ridiculous idea.
AHS Society yeah the exhaust is the worst part of the look of the bike. The new exhaust may be more efficient but looks turrible (in my charles barkely voice). lol
amazing bike, for the track and street, how reliable are they long term, what kind of maintenance do I have to do in 3, 5 7 years. I owned my first bike for 6 years and i got it used and all i did was change oil in those six years, and the plugs. How reliable is the 200hp motor for everyday use
Its kinda nice to see BMW work on the Kawasaki-esk looks instead of the GSXR chassis platform. The old S1000RR looked awkward even though it rided like a dream. The new look is a HELLA better now. I might even consider it over the S1000R next spring.
Only thing I wish would have done to the bike is added turn signal mirrors or put them flush with the fairings like the Ninja. The way they have it now, makes it look cheap.
2015 S1000rr great bike with the expected upgrade path. I have a 2014 HP4 Competition and absolutely love it. New model years bring new upgrades to base models as well as specials/limited no matter which brand you may buy. I paid the premium to buy a HP not a S1000rr, much like you choose to buy a Panigale S over a Panigale or an BMW "M" car over a regular 3, 4 or 5 series. The HP4 will always be a "HP" and not a S1000rr and a Panigale S is always an "S" and not a Panigale. Trying to make an argument that the new models are cheaper, lighter, faster than the previous limited release or base model and hence a far better buy, don't accept that each year is a snapshot and relative to what is available at the time of purchase.
maybe it is just me but, I don't like my motorcycles to have electronics. I like it to be , me,my bike and the road, i don't want the wheelie control cutting in, or any electronic help at all. I love my bike because the only thing keeping the bike on the road was the thing between the seat and the handlebars.
tavi921 The sad part about inline bikes, is that the power is so sudden, and not linear, makes it very dangerous because inline four cylinders are for racers, and twins are for riders.
jerichom11x Inline 4's and V-4's have a very sudden surge of power at high rpm's and it makes it not enjoyable to ride. It also makes riding inlines with a lot of power dangerous, because the power just spikes all of a sudden. Inline 4's are good for racing because of the power output, whilst a the torque form a v-twin is better for a rider, and not someone that cares about high speed racing.
I've never taken my bike to the track, so I don't understand what he means by moving the shift linkage back. Does that act sorta like a short shifter on a car?
No it makes it so that when you push the gear lever down it shifts up instead of down. It called GP shifting because it's used mostly in racing. The theory is in like a bank as you accelerate out of a corner or a slight turn that it is easier to shift up by pushing the lever down. Also its quicker.
Tyler James Wrong. Its to give the riders left foot clearance on long banking left turns. Think if a racer is on a long left turn and needs to upshift he wouldn't have enough space to put is foot under the shifter to upshift. Hence needing to be able to push it down when exiting a long left turn. Guys on the street like it because they are posers.
So basically all the suckers that got the HP4 could have waited a year for a bike with more and better features. Glad I sold my 2nd gen RR and waited for the third refresh.
Are two symmetrical head lights really that hard. Bmw please listen to customers and potential customers, this asymmetry is gets very old really fast and looks terrible to the vast majority.
As if the last bike wasn't cartoonish enough. Now they have to throw in Donald ducks' beak in there. Come on BMW, you made a statement with the last bike. But this is getting old really fast!!
First heated grips and now cruise control. Wtf is this... A fucking minivan? Lol. Let's not talk about how hideous the headlights are. Bimmer needs to look at Kawasaki and takes note :)))))
What a beautiful bike. Soon. Soon.
snowcatxx87 Lol wouldnt think i would find you here
I love the new changes esp. The headlights and bmw is still the only street with heated grips.
Digging that ability to go to "gp shift" with the stock rearsets.
my dream bike is the yzf r1 yamaha but DAMN!! this bike is a super badass bike, the way its looks and sound. this is a beauty
That bike may be sick in every way accept it's looks now, headlights look even worst than before and that huge monstrosity of an exhaust on the side looks out of place. However, when you throw a leg over the bike looks doesn't matter. Just expressing my opinion.
I agree, esp with the exhaust I utter hate these big clumsy exhaust. but i think how a bike matters just like a beautiful women matters.

I think if you would test ride a S1000RR for 50 miles or more...you'd sell your CBR 1000 Double R and purchase an S1000RR! :-)

Heated grips and cruise control on a hyper sport bike? damn!
Will you guys be doing the 2015 Yamaha R1 or R6 if they provide a press intro? Motorcycle.com
sweet :)
*****
Negatron, it won't be a triple.
what is diferent between hp4 and s1000rr ?
looks nice, i'm gonna save up for this!
Only thing I wish would have done to the bike is added turn signal mirrors or put them flush with the fairings like the Ninja. The way they have it now, makes it look cheap.
You can downshift without the clutch? WOW!!! That would be awesome for the track.
When will they be released for sale?
2015 S1000rr great bike with the expected upgrade path.

Dude quit trying to justify how much you waisted on a bike so that you could have the latest and greatest.
which is better hp4 or s1000rr 2015 ?
great bike, but that unsymmetrical headlight design really gets on my nerves! does anyone know if it has a particular purpose?
+Alex Manolopoulos its bs right? why on earth was that design allowed
Andresmoomoo I think its BMW trying to make it look mechanical and like a machine, but I just find it quite off putting.
When is the release date?
maybe it is just me but, I don't like my motorcycles to have electronics. I like it to be , me,my bike and the road, i don't want the wheelie control cutting in, or any electronic help at all. I love my bike because the only thing keeping the bike on the road was the thing between the seat and the handlebars.
I think you can turn them off.

mrsuperbuckets what in fucks name are you talking about?

Or you could just man up and learn to control it.
wt is user mode and slick mode plz explain with another video
Am I the only one that likes the way the front looks
cool bikes
when they make a hp4 version??
I've never taken my bike to the track, so I don't understand what he means by moving the shift linkage back. Does that act sorta like a short shifter on a car?

Thank you for the explaination. i might try this one day when im just riding. though it will take some getting use to

Just wonderful.
Glad they finally added GPS.
waht is the price of bmw s1000rr 2015
Not a fan. Think I'll stick the the '13 model. As soon as I can find a good one
TheVilouboy you still don't have 1? Sissy
Why do you say that ?
200hp not bad :o
Amazing Video Thank You
Does anyone know the MPG on this beast?
I will forever hate those headlights
what s the music at the beginning
I love how BMW can just "write off" that many bikes for a stupid press release.
what's that awesome song in the backround ? really awesome and goes along with the bike softly !
"Most user-friendly 200 horsepower sportbike in the history of sportbikes." ???
If that is true, wow, ...
I'm not keen on traction control at all. Prefer my right wrist to think for me really. If I make a mistake it's my fault not a computer.
Awesome bike,thks
So basically all the suckers that got the HP4 could have waited a year for a bike with more and better features. Glad I sold my 2nd gen RR and waited for the third refresh.
What's even funnier the people paid 30k for the HP4 and the 2015 is even better for less than 20k.. even the DDC is more advance, faster and lighter.
ok i'll have one...
Kawasaki H2R!!!!
BMW does everything except win races
is this bike not fuckn georgeous?
please remove music nothing can heard and cant focus what is being said
where was I? doh www.fb.com/wbmotors
Did they finally fix the oil tube drain in the airbox? No more worries on a left low side?
This is getting out of hand....
Looks like they stole a lot of ideas for this bike from Honda! But a 2015 Honda CBR 1000rr is still a nicer looking bike, just my opinion
true but s1000rr has a better engine and much better electronics
Are two symmetrical head lights really that hard. Bmw please listen to customers and potential customers, this asymmetry is gets very old really fast and looks terrible to the vast majority.
Glad it's still ugly, it can be a little tiring hearing about how perfect the bike is otherwise.
Meh.... what else is there out there?
As if the last bike wasn't cartoonish enough. Now they have to throw in Donald ducks' beak in there. Come on BMW, you made a statement with the last bike. But this is getting old really fast!!
Dammit bmw, Why the hell you strap the ugly exhaust to that bike. What were you thinking. A. Id buy 2014 or B. That exhaust gotta go.
Just get an aftermarket exhaust
QUEM FALA MINHA LIMGUA
helou
Scweet lol
Looks like a Japanese bike.
First heated grips and now cruise control. Wtf is this... A fucking minivan? Lol. Let's not talk about how hideous the headlights are. Bimmer needs to look at Kawasaki and takes note :)))))
It's for old people that want to go fast like me :)
Agree :))
When you getting one?
Nope, they just added it to the 2015, it's the heated grips that they have had.
They don't have cruise control, trust me.
To much BS.
Ooo, tell me more about the rider modes and switches!
Yawn
