The met have stated it wouldn’t made a difference from 50 to the next 40 and TfL are just trying to cover it up,mistake or not Tbh the country just gone crazy first with ltn’s supposedly because of the great plague of 2020 the plague went but the ltn’s remained,so they now introduced 20mph speed limits almost everywhere that there not needed with points and fines for even 2mph over even if it’s a 3am and not a car or pedestrian insight but you can still do 60mph down a country lane not lighted and just about enough room for 2 cars too squeeze by and take your life or any other on coming vehicles life’s with you. Then every box junction where I live with a camera just licking its lens hoping on a wheel in the yellow. Every school now governed by a camera so you can’t drive there at times but what about the ones that they can’t be camered does this mean your child is now a sitting target for the vehicles and the pollution bellowing out, we should be thankful of a daily disasters not happening across the nation out side our schools every day before these cameras were installed we all can feel safe knowing our children will only be knocked down and ingest poison from the exhusts just after the zones ends on the same road just absolute madness happening in this country We have turned into a nation of fools to allow this cash grab and waste of public funds on spy cameras for nothing but gaining money there not to protect us main objective is to capture number plates on the hope of minor infringements to gain cash
He's right about one thing, if you have a rogue sign, it's fatal to the enforcement of speed limits, which actually means, if you follow the logic, that these penalties will stand. Why? Because if not, rogue signs will appear all over the country overnight.
If we have dashcam footage with clear evidence of the sign stating 50 but the camera set at 40 surely with the speed on the camera and even being able to calculate the speed with simple math to verify it would have to be thrown out of court. Don't forget the police state evidence from dashcams are the same as evidence from speed cameras. If they can be used against you, they can also be used for you.
The prosecuting authority have to certify that the signs were correct and the traffic order was correct Are they going to do that in a court ? Even issuing the fines and accepting the payment of fines for an non-offence could be misconduct in public office ?
Well, you could partially blame that for this. Ulez cameras being cut down costs the government. If people are right in saying that this is a money earner, then cutting the Ulez cameras down could be partially to blame!
Dual Carriageways with Central Reservations Speed Limit 60 mph Unless specified with a Different speed , why slower , Vehicle brakes are 10 times better @ stopping Vehicles in this Time compared to when speed limits were set , For example OVERALL Stopping Distance from 70 mph Highway Code in 1969,,,317 feet Now 2024 Vehicle will stop in 100 feet. Apart from that i assume Kent Council's Road Surveyor must have walked this bit of road with his wee yellow wheel measuring the distance from point A to point B must have noticed this Rogue 50 sign , Why didn't HE report it.
I read somewhere that the speed limit was reduced because of frequent flooding on that stretch or road, which make sit even more ridiculous on dry days.
The Loophole relates to millionaires who are guilty let off because of legal technicalities, not because they weren't exceeding the speed limit, not something that average Joe has the pockets for...
To avoid being misled this is the 40mph area of the A20 which has always been and will remain as 40mph also in the distance its associated camera... Not the relevant 50 reduced to 40 area which also has a fixed camera within it
The a20 from catford to sidcup was 40 to the speed camera then it was 50 then after the Orpington roundabout it was 70 now its 40 all the way to the m20 turn off i dont no if it goes further because i turn off then no adequate signage satnav still stated speed of 40 50. 70 snd the reason i had to rely on saynav is because there was no sign after sidcup 50 sign
Just to add. The 20mph signs are few and far between in Wales and Google maps still haven't updated their maps with 20mph that have been in force for months.
I have one sat nav said exactly what i known for 15 years from Catford 40 50 70 then they change it with no warning to drivers iafter i got fine went down that road again and satnav still said same speed because there was no signage well there wasn’t i had to really look i saw two tiny 40 signs on both sides plus a 50 sign wrote to police and there response was oh well now i have s letter saying i have court ok fine complete profiteering luckily i only have one a speed difference of 30 miles per hour should have big visible signage like every other roads i live in Hastings i heard nothing about it at all
It would help if people with dash cams could establish how long the signs was incorrect and share that with Nick and the public

Wonder if it has been set at 40 because they have erected a ULEZ camera and it cannot read the number plates at speed?
