The fall and creeping privatization of thw NHS is the greatest shame and tragedy of the British society.
But the chemical attack
It's the Tories, not the overall British society. It's like blaming all of the US population for the gun problem that the Republicans won't help fix or all US voters for Donald Trump.
If the NHS had not been on a program of privatization, it would nio longer exist. If this country does not get the socialists as far away from power as we possibly can, then its all over...
I believe it is an intentional erosion. I's standard for the conservatives to intentionally sabotage and break government services and then complain that it is broken and that only privatization can fix it
Health care assistants do feeding, making sure patients are drinking enough, cleaning and washing patients, mobilising very heavy complex patients either by hand or by hoist, taking blood sugars, taking obs such as blood pressure, pulse etc, ecg’s, dealing with complex issues with patients and families, taking out cannulas and even inserting cannulas once doing a training course and so so much more as well as being verbally, physically and sometimes sexually abused by some patients for £12 an hour.
I’ve only been doing the job for 5 months having previously doing an admin job in nhs on the same pay grade but a lot less stressed. I changed jobs as I want to care. Medical staff are woefully underpaid decided by a government who are woefully overpaid for what they do, shameful!
Annual Spending
Thatcher 2.7%
Major 4.7%
Blair 6.1%
Brown 5.4 %
Cameron 1.4%
If you want a NHS vote Labour
Notice that you didn't put figures for May, Johnson, Truss or Sunak. Is that because the figures aren't available?
@@pagusmedia because it hasn't gone up
There will still be MILLIONS voting for Tories in the coming general election despite the systematic damage they caused to this country. This country has gone mad...
It wont make a differnece if its Tory, labour or any of the other major parties. They're all stooges with the same agenda. We need a proper reform, new parties, who are held accountable rather then playing party politics, with politicians who are paid minimum wage because they want to do the job not because it affords them a generous wage which doesn't reflect the work they do.
Because the alternative is far worse.
Conservatives and religious fundamentalists around the world make things worse for all the rest of us.
@@MrWhitmen1981 because....
@@MrWhitmen1981 Really? A bunch of schoolboys could run a better government than the way Tories did! You're clearly in that mad crowd I was referring to...
Love that a Lettuce outlasted Liz Truss. 😂
That as well as the lettuce ?!? 😏👏
Most meaningless job: lifeguard in olympic games. That's a meme.
It feels like a Scooby-Doo cartoon sometimes. We start off thinking its the immigrants, the single mothers, the judges or the lawyers amd in the end it turns out to be Rupert Murdoch or someone like him.
Being a New Zealander and feeling fearful of what our current government is doing to this country, watching your show makes me happy and sad. Happy because we haven't yet reached the debacle of your country. Sad because our current government seems dead keen to catch up.
The groundskeeper’s story made my day
If people in the NHS all worked to rule the whole system would collapse. I don"t know anyone in the NHS who isn't covering the work of two departed colleagues for a laughably low salary. If the overseas nurses stop coming it will be even worse. The doctors have been leaving the UK for over a decade which has led to long waiting lists and the need for more Advanced Practitioners instead. HCAs are taking the responsibilities that nurses once took. It is the long waiting lists that have created the dissatisfaction once people get into treatment they are usually happy with their treatment.
That'll go away when we've privatised it all.. Promise...
Nurses need to start taking backhanders to bump you up the list. Where corruption exists be corrupt.
It's called Bupa..
The grasscutter isn't talking about a BS job, but rather thankless/exploitative jobs.
Bogus jobs: I shuffle cars.
Pretty sure my wife has that game on her phone.
I was laughing out loud loads to JOB then. The talk of the loss of hair. I started losing mine in my 30s, I'm 45 now. Luckily I don't mind it short and I've got used to it. It's sad when men really lose their confidence. There's loads of us out there lads, try not to worry about it too much.
Drilling the holes in Polo's is important, it stops people from choking if they get one stuck.
@LBC Please consider also life-streaming on RUclips in addition to the full videos
I recommend watching some interviews with Graeber, in which he categorized the different types of useless and/or destructive jobs within large organisations. Things like the corporate goon and box tick exercise maker.
Can you send a link? Sounds interesting
The guy at 2:04:00 is absolutely right. I've done that and it's soul destroying.
Useless job: Most of the job centre work as coaches. I mean my experience is they just sit there and tick a box saying they'd seen you. That probably goes for a lot of civil service jobs created post pandemic so I hear
Whether the tv licence is value for money is subjective, surely?
1:59:14 IT JUST KEEPS GROWING BACK IT NEVER EEEEEEEENNNNNDDDDD!!!!!! lol
Always enjoy your take on issues James.
Same old record
@@pipins3616does he mention Brexit 🤔
Here's an idea, don't watch 😂@@pipins3616
Not just the NHS staff, what would happen if all civil servants work to the same standards as the rail workers.
Bit by bit the scales are falling from your elite eyes.
Not a word on Julian Assange. Shameful
Whose mum ever worked a Switchboard decades ago?😂😂
The Hello Girls.
Useless job- lifeguard at olympics 50m freestyle.
Cannot explain why but there’s something cursed about todays thumbnail
I dont think the 1st caller explained her self properley. Yes patients respect the nurses for the extra jobs they do, but you are never able to get any answers cos you cant speak to a Doctor. The nurses do a grand job for the most part, but they do the job without being able to tell you what the results or your issue is.
The number of times I have had a great nurse do a blood test, but when I ask about the results I'm told book an appointment with your GP which will take 4 wks to get an appointment!! Its shocking
If you have blood tests at the hospital, they need to know your results, not you, unless you're a hypochondriac.
They will contact you if there's a problem. It's always been like that.
That caller Sarah reminds me of the brexit van driver - just concisely put everything into perspective.
Pain? Hair transplants are not supposed to hurt, James. I had 1 procedure 18 months ago and felt ZERO pain.
I'm sure James doesn't read the RUclips comments, but take it from me: I was going bald in my late teens. I went for the cue ball look when I turned 23 and grew out my beard - never looked back!
Personally speaking I think you could rock the bald look. Might take you a few months to get used to it, but you'll get there ❤️
David Graeber sadly died too soon, i believe it was his pancreas
One day LBC will do timestamps! But this is not that day!
No-one got in touch until 2 minutes 😂😂
Switchboard😂😂😂
I used to go to school with a bpy who only got carried away when he was stuck.
Vote Tory to keep James in a job
Don't be so naive. All those in power will remain answerable as they should be.
Highly meaningless job - personal assistant to a rich ... person.
Labour will privatise...
The most useless job is Priests
That surely depends on your faith.
People should watch the 2022 documentary The Happy Worker.

Is too easy to keep blaming phones for everything you're not going to get anywhere if you keep doing that. People were obsessed with plastic surgery long before phones. It really is neither here nor there focus people.
Could we please include the New Labour years as being Tory too please, cos they were...and potentially still are just the same with regards to the NHS.
You think public satisfaction is poor! I've been qualified for longer than that record and from inside the NHS, it's like being a member of the band on the Titanic!
No can we please not, because they weren't - I was there, working in the NHS too. Jog on with your whataboutery. No one is buying it anymore.
@@obscurazone total apologies...I forgot my perspective and lived experience was wrong compared to yours. Though I note you're talking in the past tense. I'm still here....so I guess it was you who jogged on!
@@coldteasounds Apology accepted. And thanks for highlighting that "personal experience" doesn't therefore equate to definitive fact. Right back at you.
@@obscurazone although obviously you will have to rationally accept that your amnesia-tainted recollections of over a decade ago, doesn't constitute actual fact, despite being a lived experience. Memory is never to be trusted as opposed to the objective present and is prone to spectacles of a rose tinted variety. Sadly, the rot started in the 80's, and no government since has ever deviated from the ultimate agenda for the NHS. Privatised healthcare.
@@coldteasoundsYes I fully accept that my personal opinion doesn't equate to "all fact". But having been an adult in the 80s and having seen successive governments since Thatchers ruin, it IS demonstrable, catacorical FACT, that under Labour governments spending and investment on ALL public services - including the NHS, increases massively. It is also demonstrable FACT, that public satisfaction of public services has always been vastly higher than when a Tory government has been in office. That's not opinion, it's counting. Best get your ducks in a row old love. Your sums don't add up. Ta ta.

Your hair's not the problem. The problem is the photo of 10-years-younger-you they show here every 10 minutes. It's the comparison that kills you. 😉
We all getting older
The only people who review things are either really happy or really unhappy with the service so the figures won't be accurate in reflecting the general feeling
just your trite comment around GPs was all i could stomach today. Now yesterday I managed a whole half an hour. Tomorrow i'm going to have to listen on playback.
