Have you noticed a significant improvement in keeping cooler that would merit me doing something very similar? I saw one video where Hood vents didn't make much difference.
Ah I forgot to mention that. I painted the bare metal after I cut the holes, also there’s a lot of silicone in there that water should never see it (I hope at least) it’s been about 4 or 5 years that way at this point and I don’t see any signs of rust coming from that area so far.
@@jtmoffroad That's reassuring, lol I wanted to cut into my hood but worried about issues with rust, but I may give it a shot at this point. Or I'll just save up and buy a hood with a scoop and vents, lol
I kinda explained it a little on the video. The trailer grommets are cut down on the back and held to the hood with silicone. Bolts thru the hood hold the gutter guard to the hood.
Pto Tip: Normalize your audio. Your intro blares and then your narration is quiet. Normalize the audio to make the audio volume match, so no one has to adjust the volume a few seconds in.
Thanks this was early on when I started adding my intro. Since then I’ve paid more attention to decreasing the volume of the music I add. Thanks for the tip!
Ok.. the end of your video just answered my question Thankyou!!!!
Thanks for the inquiry!
Adds a Mad Max kind of touch to it. Bravo for customizing your Jeep!
Gotta love mad max stuff!! Gotta be unique! Or st least stand out a little from the majority

Thank you.
Great job, I really like it when you don't depend on someone else to design your parts
Thanks! Yea it turned out good in the end
It looks cool man!
Thanks!
Maybe I missed it in the video, but do you have any concerns about rusting in the area where you cut those holes?

Worse comes to worst you buy a spare hood haha. Good luck!
Pop rivets man!!!!
Haha I dunno I’m a fan of the stainless steel bolt head look!
Where did you get the circle vents?
Combination of gutter guard and trailer light grommets
Can you show how you did the back? Really curious if this will work on my YJ especially because I DD sometimes in the city/traffic

Shawn Wicker sure thing! Did that answer it good enough? Any questions?
jtmoffroad yep, I wonder if I could make door molding work for a slimmer appearance
Shawn Wicker worth a shot! That would define give that slimmer appearance
What size holes are they?
Great cheap way to cool off the jeep.
Exactly! And I'm allll about cheap
Good idea...but not the best execution.

Where did you buy the circular vents?
The vent material is gutter guard and the circular pieces are trailer light grommets
