happy for this video, I'm learning a lot. Please be aware though, this is a "Simon and Garfunkel" song and its primarily sang by Art Garfunkel. Paul Simon doesn't sing until the last verse when he harmonizes with Art
That infamous half step makes such a difference. Sometimes I fight it with hopes of growing into the key, (like Journey covers) other times I surrender....lol!!
OMG, what a tutorial, thanks so much for sharing my dear friend, you definitely do love music and singing. I'm foreigner (italian btw) and I dont know english so good but, I'm absolutely glad to meet your channel. I always loved Simon & Garfunkel and I found their songs pretty difficult to perform because of the extension of their voices and also for their capability to merge them in a way you barely notice it. It's very impressive the way you explicate it so clearly, it might seem soo simple, but... Congrats and thanks once more
Great Freya! You know I Iove this song. And I went through the same process - finally finding my perferct key… (which is B-Major). We always can learn a little bit more from you about the songs we like to sing!
I have just come across this video although it is many years old & I love this song but I was wondering if you’d see Sohyang’s version of this song from the ‘immortal songs’ series
I am a guy and the last part ''like a bridge a over troubled water I will ease your mind'', and so on seems so tricky because you feel like you have to alternate between chest an head Voice which si tricky
I have a request song- could you do a how to sing this song video for the song “Meeting Laura” from the soundtrack of “Perfume “?? Please! Nobody else has done it and you have the perfect voice for it.. your videos have really made a difference in my voice .. I really hope you see this . Thank you ❣️
The ending is so hard because one can't sing as man "like a" in normal voice and then proceed "bridge etc" in thin falsetto. And a kind of mix doesn't work either, well not yet perhaps.
Hi Freya, my Speech Level Singing Voice coach says that in falsetto out false vocal cord muscles underneath the true cords control the vibrating of falsetto, versus in full singing, the true vocal cord muscles control the vibrating. Does that sound crazy?
Paul Simon didnt sing the song Art Garfunkel did have a listen to S+G doing this live - Its actually not that high the original has a top note of Ab which is top of the Baritone range which is tippy top of my range
Um… you said more than once that “Paul Simon” sang this. Did you really believe that? He could never have sung this, he didn’t have the range. It’s one of the most beautiful performances in pop music history, by Art Garfunkel.

Like Regicidebrewing stated before- this is a Simon AND Garfunkel song with Art Garfunkel singing.
Thanks for covering it!
Love this song as favorite of all time and you sing it so beautifully!
That is why Garfunkel made this song so famous which is because of his range.
Great Freya! You know I Iove this song. And I went through the same process - finally finding my perferct key… (which is B-Major). We always can learn a little bit more from you about the songs we like to sing!
Both the heady version & the chesty version sound good! A different feel, both interesting.
Thank you so much, I'm going to send you my version of it one day
Dankeschön Freya
Thanks for this beautiful tutorial of all time favorite song
I love it how she teaches a song and doesn't even know who sings it and what the key of the original is.
WOW!!! IMPRESSIVE.

Written by Paul Simon and sung by Art Garfunkel.

Garfunkel is who made that song famous.
