Want to look more pale? Just drain your blood! Did you lose too much blood? Just use blush? Wild. Also, love that this video is just straight information. It’s wonderful
I LOVE learning about the Middle Ages! The more I learn the clearer the picture in my head gets. This is contemporary, values and industry. And it was as good as it gets...for then!
These videos are the only thing that calms me down before bed and the fact that these videos are so entertaining and informative at the same time makes this channel my favourite ❤❤
At first I thought "Okay, people really need to stop being so rude to AI because clearly this medieval painting isn't much better...... Wait a minute 😅" Also, AI often places weird objects on the dinner table that make little sense and you can't really tell what they are. It's not as obvious as the arms and hands but once you know it you can't unsee it either 😆
I've just recently come across your channel and so far it's really cool dude. Please keep doing these history oriented videos as long as you're enjoying it. They are really fascinating!
And just as the women of medieval times were actually more than willing to experiment with deadly substances if they'd render more attractiveness, women today continue to show the same great willingness to endanger their very lives-- if only to keep up with fashion. And also the men, though likely less, and also less in our day. A fascinating thing with humans.
Ya even now women will get BBLs which is one of the most dangerous cosmetic surgeries. Thats just one example. Theres also implants, other surgeries, and toxic hair dye, and makeup thats bad for your skin
If you all think his story telling is brilliant, you should check out his talent as a musician! The link to his band is from the video 3 weeks ago, about the rebel who was hung twice.
Middle ages: use lead, mercury, arsenic and other toxic chemicals to be pretty. Nowadays: use PFAS-ridden makeup, inject fillers, use silicon implants... The trend never truly ended..
Intriguing video and channel. That whole arduous process for wrinkles using stinking iris, sounds like some wild variant of a chemical peel. Next time I do a peel I will rewatch this video just for funsies
In all seriousness I want to try mallow flower hair conditioner and weaving some cloves into a barnet, how fun! I’ll stay away from the lead makeup and belladonna eye drops tho.
I use a famous product containing marshmallow, it controls the amount of frizz created by curly hair while it dries from wet. It’s called uncle funkys curly magic
SUGGESTION: Since all cultures have different names for different eras, can you do a video and show what other countries/cultures called their era in European Medieval period and what the typical/rich in that culture looked like?
Are you making some of your images with AI? I ask because in the image at 0:18, the lady on the left has 3 arms. My AI images are frequently ruined by extra appendages. Love the content :)
Good catch. The more you look at that “painting” the more wonky stuff you notice, especially with the hands and eyes. The woman on the right with the red sleeves has hands that just kind of morph into the bowl she’s supposed to be holding. And while medieval paintings were by no means photo accurate depictions of things, this does have all the markings of an AI image.
@@stephgreen3070Even the style of the painting doesn't align with Medieval art. The perspective and columns are Early Rennaisance contributions. The pink building is from another painting.
Everyday, I thank the powers that be that I was born in an age that has great technological advances to help take the guesswork out of basic, everyday living. Like, thank the gods for fluoride and petrolatum and glycolic acid serums and antibiotics and preservatives... 😮💨
Why? I'm going to outlive you, with baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, olive oil and (organic) apple cider vinegar. ...I do agree about antibiotics, but I happen to be allergic to many of them, so I don't have an option. Garlic is "poor man's penicillin"; I have a clove almost everyday, as well as yogurt or kimchi. But seriously, we'll see. My great-grandma made it to 100, growing and canning her own organic food.
By the way, I also use clear aloe vera gel and rosemary essential oil as an "in-between shampoos" refresher and hair growth serum. Sometimes I also use cornstarch as a dry shampoo and body powder.
Ive been binge watching these.. im about to have soo much useless knowledge that I'm sure it will take the place of other things.. like usernames and passwords.
How?? Do you find all this info out? Some of it is mindblowing to us today. Having been subscribed for a while now & having watched all your videos can I just say that your videos would be more enjoyable if you slowed down the speed of your narrating so you don't sound as if you had someone with a gun at your head to get it all said asap 😂 Love from Scotland 🏴
I completely disagree and think his cadence and narration are perfection! Chefs kiss, even! I listen to this channel to unwind from my very hectic, very chaotic third shift Asset Protection job. They work when almost nothing else does. So, again, it's perfectly narrated!
Appreciate the content, very interesting stuff. You sound like you’re reading a grocery list though. If you vary the diction a bit, the video would be perfect.
One of my biggest fears is that I’m eating or smearing on my face something that ppl in the future will reveal to be deadly or just super gross
PFAS are everywhere babes
And that is quite possible. I have great sympathy for people who feel a strong need to wear makeup.
Like human baby foreskin? Or beaver anal glad secretion? Or crushed up red beetles? Which are current used to day just to name a few 😂
HAHA honestly, all this stuff will be bad in 200 years 😂
Processed food is already killing more people than cigarettes. No one seems to care though for some reason.
What a brilliant channel. If you are watching this on a Saturday night and happy about it. Then you are free.
Does Friday night count?
Free from what? Angst, lice, kids, ?
@@keddy5627 Did OP forget what day it is, lol?
We’re blessed for sure!
But it's Tuesday?
You really spoke to me with the title and thumbnail

You’re in luck, they are weekly!
Did you just assume his gender?🫢Shame! Shame!

There's another channel you might like called "get sleepy"
How AI do you want your medieval painting to look? 😅0:14
Okay, now I'm curious. Aside from being more Early Renaissance than Medieval, what makes it look AI?
Lol. I just counted arms.

Instruments for scooping out ear wax and for cleaning under fingernails have been found in Viking graves, both male and female.
That thumbnail! 🤣🤣🤣
The first background image was really wild, too!
Loved the martyr with plethora of arrows!!!!!❤
Omg 😂 yes lol.

I love ypur channel thank you for sharing 🎉
I never knew I was interested in medieval times before I came across your channel. Keep up the good work.
3:40 I'd say it is more akin to a chemical peel, rather than a face mask.
SUGGESTION: Since all cultures have different names for different eras, can you do a video and show what other countries/cultures called their era in European Medieval period and what the typical/rich in that culture looked like?
That would be great. I hope the channel would use real images though, instead of AI like they used here.
The baldy baby!!! 😂
I haven't watched an MM video in a while so I pulled it up and this video just came out -- it's fate that I will have to now listen in bed

Marilyn Manson and two Killers songs this week. Not forgetting that long lost Chelmsford Prog band 'Stinking Iris '. Excellent as always.

Staying pretty in the medieval ages: 💀
Nothing changes. The "beauty industry" is still conning the vain, insecure and vulnerable to this very day.
To be fair people with small pox scars and other deformities in the middle ages were more like scar victims than vainity.
@serendipidus8482 Yes, it is said this why Elizabeth I was always wearing white makeup because her small pox scars where really bad
Thumbnail reminds of a Joe Cappa video 😂

Why is there a sounding bowl when talking about herbal concoctions? Did you think it was a pestle and mortar? How can you be trusted 😂
Imagine having acne.
There were monasteries that specialized in treating skin disorders. I've no idea the range of problems treated or who got help, but it's interesting.
