Just for future reference, the Octopus was displaying defensive behaviour and was feeling very threatened. You were lucky not to get inked! Next time please don't chase after the sea life, just appreciate your luck in seeing something special! As divers, especially with RUclips channels, it's important to set an example. Otherwise great video. 👍🏼
Hi Mike! Please practice what you preach. The cuttlefish in your first video looked very defensive yet you kept chasing and filming instead of "appreciating and seeing something special". But then again at least you dont need to worry about setting an example with your 4 subscribers
@@Nickyscheese I can assure you the cuttlefish wasn't chased, and wasn't displaying any defensive behaviour because if it did I would've swum away, but then if you knew anything at all about cephalopod behaviour you wouldn't post such ignorant troll-like comments. Plus I'm not on RUclips to gather subscribers which clearly is so important to you.
@@mikejwheatley My apologies, i thought it was backing off with its tentacles (?) raised which looked defensive to me. You're right I dont have much of an idea but im not posting ignorant troll comments either :D If subscribers were so important to me I would probably post some videos right?
@@Nickyscheese OK no problems. The cuttlefish was one of many which gather in that particular location to mate. The striped pattern is normal. If threatened a cuttlefish tends to display a black eye spot or if it believes you a more significant predator then will try to blend in with the background. However, if chased they typically jet away and sometimes ink. They are normally less shy than the Octopus as they are social creatures. Octopuses are solitary in the main. I've dived with cuttlefish many times and they show inquisitive behaviour often approaching divers (calm and slow moving ones) and attempting to change colour to match video lights etc. The Octopus in the above video is clearly very threatened with such a visual display. They would normally hide and slowly change colour to blend in, in the presence of divers. If they believe that their camouflage is ineffective they'll produce displays like this in an attempt to startle predators.

Did you change the battery 50 times like I have to do when I film for 10 minutes?
HanSoloxcs Hahahha no just one per dive lol
luckily it wasn't that bad but definitely changed batts in between every dive
Good job Man.....can I know which filter did u used underwater..??
Vikky raju was backscatters flip filter set. Gives you 3 different depths and gradients you can alternate between. Highly recommend it 👍
