    A very big note here:
In Canada they test every single person that enters a hospital for admission of something else. The "incidental" case rate, meaning people testing positive IN hospitals but not being treated for Covid is 50% or higher. So if all of Canada has 5,000 patients in hospital, the real number is 2,500..
It seems for every new "wave" there is less and less people hospitalized for actual treatment.
The "sixth wave" in Canada was before this BA4/5. And it had a big prevalence of infections. But hospitalizations were half (ontario) than they were with first omicron wave. Yet could have been almost as many cases. It was never even remotely a crisis of any form. Omicron had 4,000 patients in Ontario. The next wave had 1800 with HALF being "incidental" and not being treated, just positive. So basically at largest peak less than 1,000 people treated for covid. ICU barely climbed to 300 people. Was up to 900 during worst Delta that had 10x LESS cases than Omicron and variants.
I see Doctors saying BA5 is more severe. But where is the evidence of that (Mike Hansen)? All signs points to nations that has peaked with BA5 showing less hospitalizations and no more deaths than Omicron and BA 1 and 2 etc.
I see no "crisis" right now in Canada.
This is a "boy who cried wolf" IMO now. Every single time there is a slight wave, it's "NEED MASKS, NEED RESTRICTIONS, HOSPITALS WILL COLLAPSE AND END OF THE WORLD"..
Yet after every wave it's less and less.
"Immune escape".. Yeah and so what? What does that matter if there are less people in hospitals and less deaths or at least no more deaths. The flu and common cold "immune escape" every single year.
So we can get infected, yes, but that doesn't mean it's automatically some kind of severity or death. The immune system just have to look at it's stored blueprints and do new antibodies. The innate T-cells and B-cells already doing the ground work as the antibodies are formed.

Friend of mine had COVID about a month ago - triple jabbed with a booster last November.
He tested positive on an LFT. His symptoms came on very suddenly one late Sunday afternoon and he was coughing and sneezing. Had been having a really bad time with hayfever earlier in the week so chalked it up to that and thought nothing more of it.
Then he got a headache. The following day (Monday) felt like the day after his first vaccine, except slightly worse - dreadful headache that made his whole upper body feel out of balance, falling asleep every time he sat down, unable to concentrate and felt detached from the world, dizzy and woozy when walking about. Also very poor appetite. He also tried to use his computer and didn't really feel in control of his arms. Very poor sleep that night and waking up every 30-45 minutes thrashing about.
But it started to get better very quickly on Tuesday, except for being woken up with the worst sore throats he'd ever had (which lasted 2-3 nights). By Wednesday he'd developed a nasal drip and it all started to feel more like a cold.
He felt perfectly well and was sleeping through the night by Saturday (so six days all in) but he then had a week of occasional claggy mucus in his chest which was hard to move and felt heavy. Cough mixture made him a bit more comfortable until that finally cleared up.
Seems like it wasn't too bad for him.

If you haven’t had Covid and you haven’t been vaccinated you don’t have any natural immunity to rely on. Not saying you should be vaccinated just pointing out the obvious. You are not alone. I know many people who have not been vaccinated and not caught Covid (at least they had no symptoms If they did catch it). Equally I know people who have had both vaccines and a natural infection who keep catching it, although mildly. The statistics are just that that. They don’t and can’t predict what will happen to any individual. 15 percent in the Uk haven’t had Covid. At least some of them won’t have been vaccinated. There’s a lot we still don’t know.

@@futilelaneswapper heres something we do know....a vaccination by definition, is to prevent the transmission of the applicable virus...(small pox, mumps, chicken pod etc). I have had all those afformentioned vaccines, and I have not been infected with those afformentioned viruses. (Thank God). A flu vaccine (on the other hand), I have gotten, and back in 77 (ish) I caught the flu the year I received the vaccine. I thought I was going to die. My personal takeaway from that experience was that ,I personally seem to have suspicions as it relates to vaccines, that are being administered, if the virus is a rapidly changing pathogen. Or to put it another way, the vaccine administered for the original c19 is entirely ineffective for the sb5 pathogen going around now! Joe Biden is a very visible example of that fact , as we speak. Some pathogens or viruses, can be vaccinated against. Some are so quickly mutating that its virtually impossible to vaccinate against, like that flu strain I got. This makes me all the more likely to believe c19 was a man made bioweapon. JMO.

It is interesting how natural immunity in any sense was ignored and even maligned by public health "authorities" through much of the pandemic. As early as mid 2020 there were indications that there was a fairly solid immune response to this "novel" corona virus in a sizable portion of the population. I believe it was in Sweden that a study was conducted on blood supplies drawn pre-pandemic which showed immune recognition to the virus in more than 40% of samples. That is very significant portion. To the original virus, infection rates hovered around 20% in isolated samples such as the Diamond Princess cruise liner. This would tend to indicate that even if absolutely no mitigation steps were taken (ZERO lockdowns, mask mandates, enforced social distancing, vaccination etc.) the resulting infection rate would be approx. 1 in every 5 people. This is basically a prediction based on the level of contagiousness of the original viral pathogen interacting with the population's innate immune systems under normal conditions. But our prevailing health authorities made it sound like there was absolutely ZERO preexisting immunity. The modeling done by certain groups predicted a mass casualty event with 10's of millions of the population succumbing to the virus.
Hind sight is always 20/20.... but some of this was just plain old media frenzy interacting with power hungry corporate interests and their government allies.

It’s too bad there’s so much political identity wrapped up in this that the data is poisoned. I think alpha worked okay for alpha, much like last season flu shot won’t help you this season. Even if it didn’t work as well as they’d hoped.
It’s be a lot more palatable for people if the CDC would just admit it’s a Chinese bootleg virus and just say “this is the best we can do, this is the first man-made virus”

Dr. Campbell, thank you for the continued information and analysis. There are several things that continue to bother me with the COVID response here in America. The persistent ignoring of acquired immunity, the continue pounding of antiquated messaging (vax, masks, social distancing) and the authoritarian attitude towards those who have questions. I never have been anti-vax and always assumed that it would be the long term answer to COVID. However, at this point I questions when a vaccination becomes a therapeutic now that we are up 2 boosters.

    • @toriless
      @toriless Год назад

Actually, the data shows 1 booster is plenty to boost the immune system to a useful level vs just the initial dose. There is NO evidence supporting a second booster. Meanwhile, watch this video ruclips.net/video/xtLL45vQEF0/видео.html
"natural immunity" did not do well compared to vaccines in this comprehensive study by the UofW
Long term immunity was not studied and the video explains why. Since the levels involved would be harmful if maintained long term. The level should be lower long term. However, it is clear therapeutic level are only maintained for a month after exposure without a vaccine when it comes to BA.4 and BA.5

They aren't effective at all unless your immune system is already in good shape, regardless.
Some of the many benefits of fasting and a lower carb whole food diet on the immune system, blood pressure, blood sugar and anti-aging, all backed up by clinical data:
The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers over time with extended fasting and rise from dieting
Thymus stem cells are regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria and viruses by the immune system.
Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered, which is very important for a good outcome with the current pandemic.
Fasting increases nitric oxide, which has manifold postive effects like reducing arterial plaque.
Weight loss from fasting only loses10% lean tissue and 90% fat compared to the typical 25% lean tissue and 75% fat lost when calorically restricting for long periods.
Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body.
Vitamin D plasma levels are increased, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy!
Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus.
Fasts of several days will not affect short term female fertility and may increase long term fertility especially in women with PCOS.
It's absolutely fine for cortisol to be high while fasting, because it produces sugar from fat instead of lean tissue ruclips.net/video/giEDadzoErs/видео.html
Does the body prefernetially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, it never uses mainly glucose for fuel and using glucose for fuel is very biochemically damaging! ruclips.net/video/Nf1jwMbvNxw/видео.html
The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again!
Is fasting just the same as caloric restriction? No! Dieting increases the hunger hormone ghrelin while fasting decreases it and has many other health benefits! ruclips.net/video/sVl-nilhWLc/видео.html
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state.
It stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses.
Does fasting burn muscle? In most cases no! ruclips.net/video/teQIaU6wp2o/видео.html
Fasting can make you gain muscle faster: ruclips.net/video/5RM8GRzsIIg/видео.html
Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which also help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. Ketones also provide an additional energy source during infection, which is critical when trying to fight off a bug. In fact you can have as much as three times the total energy available in your blood when you are in deep ketosis, or even more.
It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention!
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate! ruclips.net/video/BeC_gIR2Z14/видео.html
Your body releases interferon which is also triggered by the body during viral attacks to shut down the replication ability of the surrounding cells and stop infections.
After 72 hours or more fasted, your body actually recycles large numbers of immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire system.
When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells. This kills these cells off completely. Senescent cells are responsible for the effects of aging and are the root cause of the development of cancer. If it were possible to destroy them all it would completely stop aging and cancer. That is not possible but fasting can help limit these effects by killing off many of the affected cells and limiting the future effects of aging.
Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth, helping a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers.
In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting.
Autophagy induced by fasting even helps hair regrow.
      What breaks a fast? ruclips.net/video/7aRLsCpxy3o/видео.html
Dieters losing weight through intermittent fasting show greater reduction in waist size and increase in insulin sensitivity for the same weight lost and alternate day fasters were shown to lose fat while gaining muscle at the same time over a six month period.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it and builds muscle!
      ruclips.net/video/fJUDucBWv4s/видео.html
Fasting has been shown to increase bone marrow volume by 10% and levels of carnosine in the body in as little as a few weeks.
Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level.
Eating one meal a day can bring most of these benefits to a lesser degree, and adding a few entire days off from eating per week will have even more effect especially when starting to feel poorly.
Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia.
Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice.

In March during the initial Omicron wave, I contracted Covid for the second time, (previous was likely wild strain beginning 2020). Then early July I was exposed in very close contact. Everyone else at the gathering tested positive, yet I (immunosuppressed) remained negative on Lateral flow (tested frequently for work over the course of a week) with only a day of feeling a bit run down a couple of days after being exposed.
Anecdotally - it appears a previous Omicron variant protected me against the new Omicron variants.

I have refused the "snake bites" from the start. 39 year old female. I think I had Ba5 just recently (this week!). I think this was the first time I got covid in fact. It started with a sore throat a few days ago, then it started to involve a runny nose (lots of phlegm! so have to blow nose and cough a little to clear it out), and then for one day (yesterday) it involved chills and body aches and fatigue so I was in bed resting (it was awful and disorienting). By today I feel like the only symptoms are the phlegm in the sinuses and throat (which leads to blowing nose and some coughing) and a bit of fatigue. It feels like regular colds I have had in the past. I loved watching the process of my God-given body intelligently fight off whatever this was, and now I have built a lovely natural immunity against it. It was worth it.

Always appreciate your commentary. I came across this recently. Perhaps someone out there knows more about this:
"Perhaps the most interesting epidemiological studies conducted during the 1918-1919 pandemic were the human experiments conducted by the Public Health Service and the U.S. Navy under the supervision of Milton Rosenau on Gallops Island, the quarantine station in Boston Harbor, and on Angel Island, its counterpart in San Francisco. The experiment began with 100 volunteers from the Navy who had no history of influenza. Rosenau was the first to report on the experiments conducted at Gallops Island in November and December 1918.69 His first volunteers received first one strain and then several strains of Pfeiffer's bacillus by spray and swab into their noses and throats and then into their eyes. When that procedure failed to produce disease, others were inoculated with mixtures of other organisms isolated from the throats and noses of influenza patients. Next, some volunteers received injections of blood from influenza patients. Finally, 13 of the volunteers were taken into an influenza ward and exposed to 10 influenza patients each. Each volunteer was to shake hands with each patient, to talk with him at close range, and to permit him to cough directly into his face. None of the volunteers in these experiments developed influenza. Rosenau was clearly puzzled, and he cautioned against drawing conclusions from negative results. He ended his article in JAMA with a telling acknowledgement: “We entered the outbreak with a notion that we knew the cause of the disease, and were quite sure we knew how it was transmitted from person to person. Perhaps, if we have learned anything, it is that we are not quite sure what we know about the disease.”69 (p. 313)"

    • @mdmurray17
      @mdmurray17 Год назад

You mean nursing school - if you are medically qualified this is frightening.
Here are just a few wrong statements he has made
Ivemerctin - there is no proof it works. Yet he has made over 21 videos over 15 hours giving the wrong impression that there is a cover up for this cheap “safe “ medicine.
The WHO, FDA, CDC, manufacturer, medical colleges, NGO and the inventor all state there is currently no proof it works
John claims we need more exact information from governments - we have it - don’t use it as it doesn’t work.
He states in an interview with Russell Brand that there are no randomised controlled trials for the use of ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine which is totally false. There are at least 18 considered by Cochrane for ivermectin and three large studies for hydroxychloroquine.
He falsely claimed it was responsible for the drop in cases in Udar Pradesh when serology sampling showed there was majority positivity- either people had had it or were immunised so the rates fell before it was ever offered.
He likewise claimed a ”miracle in Japan” when it has 77% double vaccinated rate and it is not authorised for use.
He claimed a study in Brazil showed it worked when 96% of people in a non randomised trial didn’t take the drug that wouldn’t have been in the human body for 66% of the time even if they had - it makes no sense - let alone it was partly written by one person who worked for the FLCC crackpots and the other is being investigated for fraud - yet he claims the evidence is being suppressed when he just cant understand it.
He has a video entitled Oklahoma and ivermectin - all the attorney general said was they wouldn’t prosecute if it was used not that it was shown to be effective.
ARDS is not an infection - therefor that’s not where you want the antibiotics to be in the “highest concentration”
It is pointless to give the registered side effects of drugs if you don’t provide the number of drug administrations to give the relative safety
15 and 32 out of a million are not “very large differences” - they are statistically insignificant.
Aspiration before injection - zero evidence of benefit. In hundreds of billions of vaccinations -no proof . It is not recommended as it increases pain and resultant decreased uptake . There is a risk of under or non vaccination
Myocarditis - one iv injection in mice is not proof of cause and effect in humans. If this was the case then there would not be a. sex bias and variable with vaccination type. Penicillin kills guinea pigs so one animal study is worthless.
He claims that the at risk group had an 88 times increased risk of cardiac complications post Covid vaccination yet missed out that the risk from covid to the same people would be 3800 greater or that the consequences were inconsequential.
He gave a review on a discredited abstract claiming that it showed that covid vaccination would result in increased risk of heart attacks without clearly understanding what the article was claiming or even on the face of it was as there is currently no accurate tool for predicting heart attacks risk due to prior insults.
The Cochrane review is not “ some Germans” it is the biggest and most respected medical review organisation in the world.
Self published is of negligible standard.
The BBC is an internationally respected organisation which he is in the huff about as they took apart his claims that ivermectin works - along with everyone else.
Randomised studies have the same number in each arm - otherwise by definition they aren’t randomised.
Most of the studies he talks about are too small to be statistically significant.
He claimed that a paper that said “theoretical” in the title was “firm evidence” - let alone the concept was preposterous.
He promoted a metanalysis which was fundamentally flawed in nature and the second largest study was withdrawn for fraud. After being published on the authors own hospital website.
      And just to finish off…
      Indians don’t speak Indian.
It’s a British penny not an English penny
The liver is on the right side of the body.
He takes the word of anyone who speaks to him as gospel and presents papers without knowing anything about them.
He is not medically qualified and used to teach in accident and emergency. So apparently doesn’t have experience in ITU virology or public health.
      Misleading video titles
Vitamin D, Strong evidence from Israel
Vitamin D long been established of association with poorer outcome with Covid and increased overall mortality - no evidence that supplementation or treatment alters the outcome of covid
      Myocarditis after vaccination, firm data
Increased incidence - a few per million but 40 X more likely with covid infection
      Ivermectin in Oklahoma
No proof about the therapeutic effect of ivermectin legal comment stating prosecution would not take place if it was prescribed
      Ivermectin, Mexico, Peru, India
“evidence from a quasi-experimental analysis based on a public intervention in Mexico City”- in other words no evidence at all
      Ivermectin prophylactic study from India
Not a trial - pre print not peer reviewed not blinded. Not published.
      Ivermectin in Japan
Was not used or recommended in Japan.
      Miracle in Japan
No miracle - no use of ivermectin and widespread vaccination.
      Ivermectin or Molnupiravir
Pointless comparison of one treatment demonstrated to work with one treatment with no evidence to work and gives mileading impression that they are both effective
Home ivermectin based kits in India
Not proof of effect. Clickbait headline
Dr Lawrie, Ivermectin video, Short Precis
Interview with a gynaecologist who for unclear reasons claimed to have researched ivermectin for a decade. Part of a group who withdrew their conclusions
He has been fact checked by
      UK Health Security Agency
      Politifact
      Facebook
      BBC
      Wikipedia
      Lead Stories
      Factcheck.org
Now either they are all in on this conspiracy - or just journalists and not doctors as he ironically points out so there for anything they say is not true - or he is an old unqualified idiot.
Meaghan Kall, head of COVID-19 epidemiology at the UK Health Security Agency, said the entirety of the evidence that ivermectin is behind Japan's success is a coincidence - that the decline began two weeks after the TMA doctor's suggestion.
"The video's primary argument is a classic case of correlation ≠ causation," she tweeted of Dr Campbell's claims, saying there was no evidence ivermectin was even being prescribed in large amounts for off-label use, or by people self-treating themselves with product - usually intended for livestock - off the internet.
"There is none. Zip zero nada," she said. "It appears this is based on anecdote on social media driving wildly damaging misinformation."

Around 4 days ago I came down sick again, and once again it’s COVID (I imagine BA5). I have to say, this is the sickest I’ve been from a virus in nearly a decade. I do not want to have to go through this every year, I really hope immunity starts to built up soon.

I might be wrong but to me it looks like the countries experiencing the highest rates of hospitalisation and death right now are the ones who locked everyone down the hardest during the first couple of variants. They are playing catch up now with the people who have the comorbidities and unhealthy lifestyles even with Omicron.

    • @ivartangring3392

What do you mean "catching up"? Many of the locked down countries were ahead already.
You could argue that locking down might have helped those countries avoid even more deaths, because they have poorer public health. But it certainly looks like it is a bad idea to prevent natural immunity in young and healthy people, so I for one am definitely a supporter of the Swedish model. Protect and vaccinate the vulnerable, and let the magic of our immune system do its job. And make sure to have a healthy population.

Yep, we merely created massive inflation and human suffering with our lockdowns. It was nice to take a break, but it certainly didn't decrease deaths or infections. You really need to watch your terminology, Dr. Campbell. Natural immunity is something very different from immunity as a consequence of (prior) infection or vaccination. Here in the U. S., I suspect, it’s the ubiquity of metabolic syndrome. I blame our Food Pyramid for promoting a high-carbohydrate diet, but that’s just my opinion. Whenever we Americans get sicker, the pundits claim that we’re not adhering to its recommendations, but I suspect that mostly we are, though with too much dependence on convenient highly-processed foods.

As he rightly said, the US being the glaring example of how NOT to do it...and the UK is too close for comfort.
