Lol! I'm sure it could have been way better if ported by a better company but I will say that it was still pretty fun despite the downgrade in every aspect.
The SMS port suffers a lot here. I enjoy the arcade game quite a bit, but I don't believe I've played the SMS port. It definitely could have looked and sounded better than it does on the system.
It's a pretty major downgrade in every department but I still thought it was pretty good regardless. Well I guess good if you only had access to the SMS version back in the day, I'd never play that over the arcade version if given the opportunity to play either.
This looks like an early SMS game that seems to be a generic Shinobi for SMS. The Arcare looks okay, you can tell theres some games were devs had a bit more hardware to work with but it wasn't a huge step up in visuals. Like early teenage/preteen years where you think you're adult enough but in all reality you're far from.. lol I would not play either game and glad I missed it.. Winner: Arcade I am thankful that you do play these for us.. haha!
Lmao that was a perfect analogy! The arcade game is okay, nothing groundbreaking or amazing but not horrible either. The SMS port is a major letdown in pretty much all departments. I still had fun with it but unlike some others in this series it doesn't come close. Thanks for watching my friend!
Nice comparison! The arcade looks better but the MS looks like a decent option if you don't live near an arcade, just downsized, smaller sprites the gameplay looks alright. I vaguely remember seeing this game in the arcades as a kid some where lol.

I think so too. I mean it's a pretty big downgrade but if this was 1990 and I only had a SMS I think I would have had a blast with this.
