    I have been a baby nurse for over 30yrs, let me say that her experience will not be yours bcas not every baby is the same and because of that I found I had to analyze each baby and develop a strategy in which work for each. Yesss, I do love her approach but let me remind your motherly Instinct, will guide you as well. Be encouraged.

      Hi! Aw, it doesn’t have to be that way for much longer :) Baby’s wake up time: 8 AM. First nap: 10 Am ( usually 1/2 hour sometimes up to an hour if I’m lucky) 2nd nap is at Noon ( anywhere from 30 min- 2 hours ). Then around 2:30- 3 pm is her 3rd nap. Also around the same time frame. 5-6 pm she takes her 4th nap. Closer to 8 pm is the final nap and usually 30 minutes or so. At 9:30-10 pm I start doing the night routine: well fed, diaper changed, calm and peaceful at home ( bath time sometimes) etc. once I feel like she’s ready and could sleep - that’s what we do!

    My 2 months old wakes up 1hr before WDT, should I give her 1oz breastmilk snack or should I let her cry it out 1 hr until WDT and give full feeding?.. She goes to bed at 10pm until 4.30am where she gets a full feeding and wakes up again at 8am. Her WDT is 9am.. Due to my work schedule.

      @xoellielily  4 года назад +1

      Hi Melissa, that is actually a very good sleeping window for a 2 month old. I would say If she is asking to feed, feed her. She is still in the newborn stage so give her a little time to adapt, but you’re really close to the time when babies have longer sleeping stretches. I would also just make sure that she is really well fed before bed time, my baby ate 3-4 oz at 2.5 months before she went to sleep. I also truly believe that as her mommy, you know what your little one needs. Don’t be discouraged if it makes a little longer than you would like, it will happen if you stick to a routine. Hope this helps a little!

    Hi 🙋🏽‍♀️ my baby(10weeks) sleeps like a dream during the day. She sleeps 2-5hours, wakes up to eat in between and would sleep again for the same amount of time more or less. So she basically has two very long naps durin the day. when it comes to night time she doesn’t sleep as long. Sometimes 30mins/1hour and wakes up! Do you think she is sleeping too much during the day? And if yes how long should she sleep and can I wake her up ☹️wish she slept that long at night.

      My baby was the same way ! She’s 2 months old . She would sleep like 3-5 hours during the day and at night she would sleep like an hour and a half each stretch . So I kept her up during the day for 1 day as much as I could then she would sleep but I would wake her up after 2 hours at the most . Poor thing was having a hard time ! After two days she started to sleep less in the daytime . Basically she stays awake for 1 to 1 hour and a half and then it’s nap time. Her bedtime is between 10-11 pm and then she wakes up around 3 . Two nights ago she went to bed at 1130 and woke up 4:58 am ! I was shocked ! It was hard to keep her up at first but it’s worth it now 🤗

    • @xoellielily
      @xoellielily  Год назад

      there are so many different reasons this could be happening. Speak your your pediatrician first . She must have her longest nap during the day. Am I right? You’ll need to either slowly make her nap time during the days shorter and just have her be whinny as long as possible so that you can teach her to sleep in the evening and eventually night. BUT this is only if there is no other reason for her doing so- if she has a runny ache, try giving her simethicone drops, or perhaps if you’re breast feeding and drinking caffeine…

    • @adriangreen7995
      @adriangreen7995 Год назад +1

      Definitely has her longest nap during the day. Might be sometimes she sleeps good thru the night. But of lately she definitely hasn’t. But will obviously nap more during the day when she’s with mama & dada at work.

    • @xoellielily
      @xoellielily  Год назад

      At 2 months they start developing their microbiome - both of mine would wake up and just cry for hours and want to be held from 2-5 AM. It’s not just your baby. I would start to wake her up 20-30 min before she normally does and wait till her final evening nap to put to sleep. I know it feels like forever but it will change if you’re being patient, nurturing and also persistent in helping her differentiate the day vs night.
      Ultimately trust your gut. You know what’s right for your baby, whether my pov is relevant or not. Wishing you and your baby the best 💕

    Two month olds aren’t supposed to sleep through the night. Their stomachs are so tiny that they have to have frequent, small feedings. As they grow, so do their stomachs, and especially once they start solids, which are more filling, they can sleep for longer stretches. I have never known a two or three month old who has slept through the night. I would have been very worried if my kids did. You can’t change anatomy.

      It depends on the babies weight gain, you need them to weigh enough that they can control their blood sugar. My baby is 2 months old right now, goes 7 hours at night without feeding and is 13.5 lbs which is the 90th percentile for weight gain, so I'm pretty sure shes not being starved by going that long without feeding.

    • @lessehead
      @lessehead 3 года назад

      @@ChrissW528 No one said they were starved. My 2 both weighed about that much, if not more, at 2 months. They were both big babies and still didn’t sleep through the night at that age. Amy, it’s beautiful that you genuinely care about babies and not letting their needs be neglected. I love that and am all for it! As any mother will experience at one point or another, sometimes babies will just cry even though all their needs are met because the world is so née to them. Moms give everything for the well being of their little ones. My intent with this video is not to tell moms to neglect their babies but to help mommies adjust to the life changing role of becoming a mother, and to gain a sense of comfort knowing that they are doing their best and that’s ok. For me, having some sort of structure/ regimen was vital when I had my daughter because I was always so worried and stressed out about my new role and wondering if I was doing a good job being a mother - my hope is to help mommies who are in the same spot. Sending my Best wishes ❤️

      I let my son cry it out sometimes because he was a terrible sleeper. He would get so overtired and refuse to calm down and go to sleep no matter what I did. It stopped at 18 months. He is now a wonderful adult with no issues! Crying it out is not the end of the world! Sometimes it’s the only thing left to do, and that’s what the Ferber method is. I needed my sleep, and I wasn’t about to stay up all night with him when he needed his sleep.
