ORIGINAL POST:
Having problems getting my 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250 to start. It sat in the garage for about 2 years, so I've already emptied out the old gas and put in new gas. I even replaced the Pet Cock.
This video shows that it cranks, but won't turn over.
Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated! - Авто/Мото
Fuel, Air, Spark. at least 1 of the 3 are missing.
take a plug off and hold it close to the plug while you crank.. if you see a blue flash (turn the lights off or do it in the dark) or hear a SNAP or get a JOLT in your hand (haha) then there is spark. To check for missing fuel you can spray in a little bit of starting fluid into the airbox.. if it kicks over for a couple seconds then you were missing fuel. Air is almost a given unless you think the filters are completely plugged and the choke has the carbs sealed.. but you still would get an initial KICK as the initial air inside the cyllinder got a little fuel and was ready to burn. It's almost impossible to keep the air out though. For the engine to fire, the fual mixture must be neither extremely lean, nor extremely rich. Neither will light up.. look up "stoichiometric ratio". I'm saying if you have too much fuel for the air it wont start. Check for that by looking for wet smelly plugs after cranking.
I'm having the exact same problem with my bike. Mine has sat for 10 month and I changed the battery but I don't know what else to do from there. If you fine a solution will you let me know please!!
how did you fix it? i have the same problem
what was the solution in the end?
did you ever fix your bike? I have the same issue
I'm having this problem right now... What ended up happening?
So what was Wrong with the Bike. Im having the same prob.
did u ever find out wat it is? i have the same problem
What was the problem?
my bike is doing the same thing..... did you ever figure it out?
I had that problem and I changed the spark plugs and it cranked right up
Try using the choke if i remember right from what it looks like the choke is not on try using the choke for the first start of the day
So i dont know if you still have this bike or if you have already fixed it but maybe look into changing 1)fuel lines 2) Spark plugs/Coils 3) Sync the Carbs after you get it to fire
check and see if you have spark. if not could be bad coil pack or spark plug.
Where did you buy a screen?
This screen is bery cool.
Sounds like your not getting the right spark. Change those plugs>>>
clean carbs and check the spark
I realize this is major old, but did you ever figure this out? I have the exact same problem. Cleaned tank, carburator, replaced pet cock and it just turns over.
We replaced the carburetor. Problem solved!
I would get to the starter motor and see which direction it is turning. It sounds like it may be turning the wrong direction, thus no resistance from the motor causing it to turn over. My EX500 had this issue. The starter motor would turn the right way then I would re-install everything and it would switch direction. I think I fixed it with trial and error by adjusting the case around the starter motor till it was at its strongest position, and now it doesn't switch direction.
needs spark plugs
Clean the plugs
When u start it, accelerate
