I loved this film and I’m glad you guys enjoyed it as well. Being a Raiders of the Lost Ark day one kid, I literally grew up with Indiana Jones as one of my heroes. Like him now i’m much older and I think that’s why I appreciate this film as much as I do. It’s a love letter to lifelong fans, and a nice final goodbye to an amazing movie character.
My dad saw the original movies when they first came out and he was really disappointed with the kingdom of Crystal skull, so I was really worried he wouldn’t like this one because Harrison Ford is old now which is one of the reasons he didn’t like the last movie. But to my surprise he loved this movie. He felt that it was a tribute to the original trilogy and he cried a bit when the movie ended and started to reminisce about the first time he saw the first movie ❤
I enjoyed this movie, but Spielberg’s presence as director is definitely missing IMHO. We’re a long way from the pacing and fun of the previous films. He did a much better job balancing the tone with action AND humor. These movies are supposed to be fun. Still, it’s great to have Indy back and I thought this movie had a strong story and a good cast.
I think only the third film was more paced than this one. That film is insane. To me this is just... an Indiana Jones film. Not worse or better than the originals. Worse than the best of them, but that's hardly damming criticism.
The Antikythera mechanism (or Archimedes' dial, as this movie calls it) is a real archeological find that was discovered in1901. It's nothing like the movie depicts it, but it is significant in that it is the oldest known example of an analogue computer in history, dating back to the 2nd century BC. It's real-life purpose was to model the irregular orbit of the moon and predict eclipses decades in advance. If anyone is interested, there's a great video that goes into its history on BBC Reel's RUclips channel.
@@alexsilva28The RUclipsr Clickspring has also been building a replica using period plausible techniques, as well as advancing the research and understanding of the original device, co-authoring research papers on it. Amazing stuff!
It's a mechanism, but not a computer. And it was built over a hundred years after Archimedes was killed by the Romans. So there is really not much of any connection and we only have parts of it and still try to reconstruct the mechanism.
I don't care what people said about this movie. I went to watch it with my family and we had a blast. My mum and dad are old Indy and Harrison Ford fan, but especially (as italians) we all love history, so the entire journey in the movie with that crazy ending was incredible for all of us (" THOSE ARE TRIREMES" my mum screamed while laughing in theater😂). I love not being american and not having to care about woke or witch hunt. Cinema is a genuine experience for us, I sit and I care about nothing else. The industry is going downhill because people don't do that anymore. Everyone here loved it, especially people over 60. Apparently who didn't like are only US middle age men who weren't even born when the first came out (nothing personal CD). These people would have hated Karen Allen or Kate Capshaw even back in 1981 lmao
It is always great to listen to a soundtrack made by John Williams, the years go by and he is still a master, at this point I no longer know if this film will be his last work in a film or series but if it is then I am satisfied
The big guy is Olivier Richters aka the Dutch giant and stands 7 feet 2 inches tall, he also played Ursa Major, the guy who arm wrestles Red Guardian in the Black Widow movie.
What I think really works about the supernatural element in this is the tight scope. The Ark of the covenant, the stone from ToD, even the holy grail all are very limited in scope. They’re the type of thing that in one use they show all they can do. The interdimensional aliens have a much larger implication. As does time travel as a concept, but here we see a bootstrap loop, a single gateway between two points in time. Its entire purpose is used up in this film. I think this helps it feel more like the original trilogy. There’s no larger implication to the uses or interactions with this element. Indy goes back in time, meets Archimedes, and is knocked unconscious and brought back to his present. A solid adventure.
I feel like the Supernatural element in this is so much less effective than the original trilogy. The thing that connects the Ark, the Stones, and the Grail is that they are the works of higher, unimaginable powers, works too powerful for us to use and understand. The mechanism in this was just built by a clever human, it’s not anywhere near as mystical and interesting.
@@Esafc-lb2sg that’s fair. I guess it would have been better if the device had been discovered instead of created. A device that can create a gateway between time, but not one constructed by the person using it. Still, I think their scopes of use are similar. The arc can kill whoever is looking at it when it’s opened, the stones can be put in a specific statue, the grail can only be accessed in one way and probably won’t be accessed again.
@@brianb-t4v I think anything connected to the Ancient Greek or Roman worlds was always going to be difficult to pull off. I agree with you on limiting the device to one destination being a stronger idea than just allowing you to go anywhere. I just miss the idea of having to be worthy of using something. The supernatural powers of the first four punish the users because they find them inherently unworthy. The Ark punishes Nazis and Belloq for their poisonous ideology and greed, the stones punish Mola Ram for his perversion of their intended use, the grail punishes those who wish for the glory of eternal life and greed, and the interdimensional beings punish Spalko for her arrogance and presumption. The dial doesn't really have that aspect, the villains aren't judged by a higher power, they are random casualties.
I don't think that the Spear of Destiny was fake. Both Indy and Voller note that it was made with a new alloy but what I can't get out of my head is that Indy, when he figured out that it was recent, he wonders, if everything else on the train was real, why would the spear be fake? There is a theory that the spear is made from the crashed plane and that is why it is made from a new alloy that didn't exist back then.
@@Carabas72 That's where I think that theory falls apart. Plus, why would it go from Syracuse to Jerusalem? But, for me, like Indy, I can't figure out why that one item was fake when everything else was real.
I just realized it is never explained how the NAZI scientist survived getting hit in the face by a metal pole and falling off a train without any visible lasting injuries. The character development for Indie is great, best part of the film. But the rest of the plot feels like it should've ended after the intro but kept going through unexplained magic. It feels like you start watching the end of another Indiana Jones movie with the intro and then the rest feels like a dream Indie is having.
All Indiana Jones movies had plot holes of varying degrees. For example in the first one it is never explained how Indie could survive the ride to the Nazi base on the outside of a submarine. The sub would have dived to keep the Ark hidden and even if Indie could somehow make his way inside there is no place to hide in a WW2 sub. Or in the third one it is never explained how the ancient knight could understand and speak modern English. Some small plot holes are forgivable.
Nooooooooo they didn't get the best joke. In the scene at 17:40 Indy says "your face rings a bell" in reference to the Nazi's face getting destroyed on the train at the beginning
unfortunately many people hated on this movie, but I loved it, thought it had heart and realism and homages to the originals and Harrison gave it his all… people hate on it because he is old and sour, but that’s life, and he finds himself again, if you want fantasies in which everyone is perfect go watch Disney princesses flicks
I feel like most people on the internet haven't watched the other indiana jones movies in a long time because this really felt on par with all the other movies and all the criticism i've seen about this movie could easily be applied to all the other indiana jones movies
As someone who just got done watching all the movies for the first time. I think you’re spot on. I don’t understand the internets overblown hatred for this movie. I’d probably rank it number 3 for me. The Last Crusade and Raiders are my fav. But I quite enjoyed this movie!
My dad is a massive Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford fan and I was so glad he left with a big smile on his face leaving the theater that opening night. That will forever be a memory I cherish!! I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Overall entertaining and a solid ending.
Temple Of Doom, was actually a prequel, then "Raiders " Last Crusade. Crystal Skull and now Dial Of Destiny. "Raiders" is my favourite Indy movie. Hard to believe that this is the final time we will see Harrison Ford in this role, after all these years. Thank-you Harrison. 🎬👍
I was always in the minority of people who thought Crystal Skull was a perfectly fun Indy adventure. This one overall just didn't do it quite as much for me. I'd rank it just above Temple of Doom as the second-weakest in the series. My dad really liked this one though, largely because they embraced his age this time around and made it something the character is dealing with. He appreciated that, although he's not as old as Harrison Ford
Glad you enjoyed it. Imo I dont think theres any bad Indy movies. Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny are solid Indy films. No, they're not the original trilogy, but I still think they did a decent job, and it shouldn't get as much hate as they do.
@@za-ir5ni What an insult. He already gave his opinion and said that he thought those were solid Indy films. Different people are going to have different opinions about movies. Just deal with it.
@harley2704 It's not an opinion that this is a terrible film. You, him, and Blind Wave just don't think critically about anything you watch. "Consume product and get excited for next product!" Like ffs, Eric literally said that because he's a Star Wars fan, he has to like everything that comes out from it.
Watched it over Christmas with my dad, and we liked it. Felt like a good end to Indiana Jones. Obviously not at the level of the originals but good. I did also like the 4th, but was like 11 then and really liked action and adventure movies and games (still do). Not watched it since then so dont know how I would feel about it now.
1:11:03 Mark! 1.6K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! ☺️ Notes: I, too, am relieved that you liked and enjoyed this movie as I did! 🤠😎 Harrison Ford was very active as an actor when he was younger. They reused a lot of moments from back then to make digital copies of his face. So, does that make a big difference compared to those who don't have as much source or resource material? 🤔
There’s certainly some magic missing from this movie but I still love this movie and how it stays true to his character. I’m also a history major and anachronistic stuff is rarely done in movies (at least done well) and I loved seeing this, every time he says “it sure as hell ain’t 1939” I get chills.
There will always be haters so I know this movies no different. But IN MY OPINION this fits perfectly into the story of Indy and I’ve heard a lot of people acting like they are trying to replace him with his Goddaughter but that’s not even hinted at in this movie. If anything it was a strong last ride for Indy and keeps it open where he could go on or could be done but no matter what he IS Indiana Jones. I would love to see more Indy if it’s well made but I don’t think it needs to be old Indy. If they want let’s cast a young Indy and have future movies of old Indy telling old stories.
I genuinely wonder where that came from. Because looking at the older movies, Indy often needed help jump-starting the old brain to eventually take over and solve the puzzle himself.
I never had a problem with the refrigerator thing because Indy had swigged from the Holy Grail in the previous movie. I figured that would have some kind of effect on him. The monkeys I could have done without though.
I’ve seen every Indiana Jones film in the theater, been a fan since 1981, and NOBODY ever said that Temple Of Doom was their favorite. Spielberg even said that he made The Last Crusade as an “apology” to the fans for Temple Of Doom.
Neo Nazis vs ancient Romans. An ending so delightfully stupid I couldn't help but love. And it somehow still felt less of a stretch for an Indy movie than freaking Aliens in Peru. PS: the bit of the 4th guy in the water had me rolling XD
I wish Antonio Banderas was in the movie more. I'm sure the reason he was cast in such a brief role was only to make the audience instantly like his character and be sad to see him go.
Loved the reaction, but you boys missed the visual clue early at the beginning of the movie, where it showed the triangular US flag folded up beside a photo of Mutt, essentially saying he was dead. Really enjoyed this last Indy
Often the end of the arm on a coaling or water tower has a hood to control the flow and prevent it from pouring too far off target. The hood would be made of canvas. Voller isn't hit by the arm itself, he's hit by the canvas hood on the end. Mind you, at that speed canvas would still pack quite a punch but it wouldn't necessarily be something you can't survive.
It’s kind of Indiana Jones tradition that the biggest henchman gets the worst death, so as soon as I saw that giant guy I was like “oh he’s gonna die and it’s gonna be brutal”
This film was the 3rd best Indy movie, as far as I’m concerned. Falling right in the middle of the pack in a franchise this great is damned fine, as far as I’m concerned.
We absolutely call distance on water, something different. Nautical miles, or knots, may as well be water miles. Each nautical mile is one minute of latitude, as such it is slightly more than a statute (land) mile at 1.15 statute miles per knot.
While this isn't my favorite film. There are definitely parts of it that I'd say are the best in the franchise. Specifically the emotional boat scene, and the ending.
Pleasantly surprised by this movie. All I heard was negative opinions, just to see to movie and find all of it to be unfounded. A worthy entry, better than 4
I liked it a lot more than crystal skull, but i wish they hadn't called it the antykethera device because that is a real device in a museum that looks nothing like that but was able to predict the position of planets. Archymedes dial was a good name and it could have been connected to the antykthera device, but not have it identified as the antykthera device itself. Alternatively, they could have had the antykthera device be a component in it (the antykthera device in the museum is a device made of rusted gears and is an analog mechanical computer, it looks like it was in salt water way too long).
This movie cost 300 million dollars. It's a ridiculous budget for what this movie is. And it's too long, this could shave 20 minutes and be a much better film. I just didn't like this movie so by the time they got to Sicily, things like the plane getting shot down by ballistas, I was annoyed and not entertained.
I went to see this movie on the 4th of July with my dad and sister, and I greatly enjoyed it! I felt like that was the ending that I also would've loved to have seen for Han Solo and Leia in Star Wars if they had been able to have closure. I enjoyed both the returning characters and the new characters, and I always enjoy a good time travel story, so it was fun for me! I was afraid of that one scene in Temple of Doom as a kid, and I still have not finished that one to this day, so the other three were my trilogy. I never had any issues with the 4th movie as a kid, and I didn't know that people had issues with that one until people started talking about this movie, much like my relationship with the Star Wars Prequels. I also didn't realize how much bigger that one guy was than everyone else watching it in theaters, so it was really funny after I finally noticed what you were talking about.
I thought this movie was fine. I liked it but didn’t think it was that great. For me last crusade will always be my favourite movie. Harrison looks really worn out doing these movies bless him.
44:10 Technically it was not Jesus, but God. The ark is an old testament artifact. PS: Sorry, I had to be this guy. BTW, I love this entry too. I think it's a good story and a good homage to Indy's history. The only thing I don't get is why they introduce a new Indy friend - seems to me the girl could be easily written into being Marcus' daughter, which would be awesome.
i quite liked it.. its better than the last one and if you also think that Harrison is 80 he was active enough not to need a Zimmer :) its fairly entertaining
I was worried that this would be another disappointment, but it really captrued the Indy spirit. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Time will tell but this is probably my second or third favorite of the franchise, and a lovely and satisfying sendoff.
While this movie isn’t anywhere near as terrible as people made it seem, my takeaway was that it was “meh”. Primarily due to it being overly long and badly paced. Harrison was great, as he always is, especially with this character. Just wish it would have been tighter and better thought out.
The issue was never that Dial of Destiny was a bad movie, the issue is that new generations have no connection to the character like we do. I'm forty-five, I adore Indy, but i'm fortunate enough to have grown up with him.
I'm 44 and grew up with these movies, just bought the Lego Raiders set and thought Crystal Skull was ok, but this film was almost unwatchable. It took me two tries over 2 weeks to get through it.
Nice reaction. The film wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely not of the same caliber as the first 3 films (Crystal Skull was ok at best too) but it was still entertaining in parts. I still dislike Phoebe Waller Bridge quite a bit but overall it was an entertaining film and nowhere near as bad as a lot of people said it was.
I agree she was miscast in this role. She's not a good actress and she lacks the charisma and charm to match Harrison Ford. I feel someone like Emilia clarke Or Daisy Ridley would've been perfect.
@@prathapkutty7407Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a much more charismatic presence than Emilia Clarke, she was one of the best parts of this film, actually felt like an OT character.
This movie, although not perfect, was still an enjoyable and entertaining experience. Glad Harrison got to do it one last time, being Jones is 1 of 3 things he genuinely loves doing (the other 2 are getting stoned and flying planes)
You would think there never was this much magic or scifi stuff in Indiana Jones movies, but then you think about it, and its not that out of nowhere, the other movies still had a lot of magic and mystery stuff in them.
it could've been handled so poorly like aliens were in the last one, but it was handled correctly and fit so well with what Indiana Jones is all about. He finally got to witness history for himself!
@@TheNowerianRaven I mean you’re exactly right that’s what I mean by looking at it it should feel out of place but then you remember that we saw the holy grail, the ark of the covenant, aliens, and a guy shoving his hand through another guys chest and grabbing his heart this just fits in quite nicely
@@bossbenmax0473I don’t agree at all, the time travel looked horrendous, the battle at the end couldn’t have looked more like a low-budget production if it tried. Why did the Romans look like they were wearing plastic armour? Why did the entire thing have to be shot on a blue screen?
This is probably one of the best hard de-aging I've ever seen, young Indy looked REALLY good, sure its not perfect, but as you guys said its 90% there. Much MUCH better than what they did with Luke in The Mandalorian
I loved this film so much. It almost feels like it was made for me. As someone who is OBSESSED with Greek and Roman history, mythology, it was all a dream come true.
Many thanks to Eric, Calvin and Aaron! 🧭 I love parts all of these movies. I'm so glad y'all watch with open hearts and open minds. Cheers to director James Mangold.
DOD erased everything that ended CS with a happy ending! Just imagine if the movie had started out with an adult Short Round, who still wears his baseball cap AND who himself was now an archaeologist! He always saw Indy as a father figure and perhaps he felt inspired by him. He finds something mysterious and decides to seek out Indy after losing contact for the past 20 years. Indy is now head of the university and has become somewhat wealthy and famous after writing several books about his adventures over the years, which would have been later adapted into the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Him and Marion are thriving and Mutt has become much more mature with him and Indy on good terms now. Maybe he comes along for the ride? Anyway, Shorty and Indy have a very happy reunion and he manages to convince Indy into one last adventure after he privately confides to him that hes been thinking of retirement. Maybe Mutt becoming a father and his age be a motivator? They go on an adventure together and they have a touching moment in the middle. The movie ends with Indy's retirement and him taking his fedora off and putting it on Shorty's head, as a symbol of passing the torch to a younger generation. Similar to the beginning of The Last Crusade. NOW THAT would have been a trihumph! I would have loved it! It would have been so easy!
My ranking of the Indiana Jones Films Best to Worst 1. The Raiders of the Lost Ark 2. The Last Crusade 3. The Dial of Destiny 4. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 5. The Temple of Doom
BTW those old refrigerators did not open from inside. They latched closed. It’s why the original idea of making a fridge the time machine in Back to the Future was changed to a DeLorean. I also don’t think he’d be unscathed after being blasted out of the house and he wouldn’t have ended up so far away where he didn’t face any radiation. Just answering a point brought up.
Saw this in 4DX. It was fun, however the 4DX malfunctioned at the beginning. Nothing was happening and the chairs were shaking, lights were going off and water was spraying on our faces and it was just a dialogue scene. That was one hell of a conversation.
I watched this in theatres with my Brother and my Dad on opening weekend and I had a great time. I don't understand the hate this movie got and I don't get why more people didn't go and see it. In my opinion this movie is easily better than the 4th one and somehow that movie is both critically higher rated and made twice as much money.
People were hating on this film from the moment it was announced, like before the title or even an inkling of the plot was released, people were trashing it. The online hate especially that I saw was across the board, and it got to the point of being way past ridiculous. Not to mention all the bs plot rumors that all these channels bought into, that people created online. It truly baffled me how so many people that called themselves Indy fans could want a movie to fail so badly from the moment it was announced. The way the fan communities like to hate on the things they supposedly love these days gets on my nerves so bad. It doesn't matter if the movies are perfect, they still hate them and trash them. I saw it with Indy, I see it with star wars, and even star trek. It kills me, and it's just sad. This wasn't a perfect Indy film, but I can honestly say I really enjoyed it, and Harrison didn't miss a beat as Indy after all these years. It was fun to see our guy go on one last great adventure, and fight some Nazis across the world over an ancient artifact. It was a good looking film, it had some really cool set pieces, the score was great as always, and it was just a good old fashioned adventure. And that's good with me. The de aging and the opening stinger was an especially awesome treat for us fans, it looked so good and it was amazing to see Indy in his prime again on an adventure. I loved it. That was worth the price of admission by itself
I def enjoyed it more the 2nd time I watched it, but I couldn't connect to this movie like I could with the other Indy movies. I guess I'm just getting really tired of the whole "let's make the main character a broken down and depressed old-man who lost everything", especially with Lucasfilm projects. Don't get me wrong, the scene were Indy opens up to Helena on the boat about Mutt was touching, but I just want to see Indy be Indy. You don't have to make him sympathetic, the audience is already on his side and that's who they're here to see. Helena was also kind of annoying to me, I didn't hate her character like some, but she was a weak point in the film for me. I'm really glad that people enjoyed it though.
I was so worried Disney would ruin this franchise juat like star wars that i didnt watch this movie until today. I was pelasantly surprised and relieved. It was actually really good i thought.
I was sad to see so many negative reviews of this film which inevitably contributed, in some part, to how poorly it performed at the box office. In my opinion, it’s a very good Indiana Jones film. I had a blast watching it with my family
This was fun, and I’m glad we got to see your initial reaction, but it’s a little surprising to me that a bunch of diehard SW fans aren’t necessarily also big enough IJ fans to have seen the movie in a theater upon its release. Then again, it always seems weird to me how SW fandom seems to be so self-contained, focusing just on SW, as opposed to spilling out into broader Lucasfilm fandom in general. For me, loving Star Wars (and Indiana Jones) led to a general interest in all of Lucas / Lucasfilm’s stuff, and I’m always a little nonplussed when someone who lives, sleeps, eats, and breathes Star Wars has never seen American Graffiti, say.
It is a very FUN movie. It took me a second viewing to enjoy and appreciate it more. It is nothing over the top, lore changing, or retcon material. It's a good final tacked on adventure for Indy.

Have yet to hear the OST by itself but I don't recall anything that stood out for me. Nowhere near as iconic as the soundtrack for the original 3
I think it was planned to be his last, but there are rumors that he may be creating a new original score for Superman Legacy
The fact that George Lucas came back for this film make me happy
The big guy is Olivier Richters aka the Dutch giant and stands 7 feet 2 inches tall, he also played Ursa Major, the guy who arm wrestles Red Guardian in the Black Widow movie.
He also played a small roll in the kings man
The 4th guy bit was hysterical 😂
It was great seeing Sallah again.
Why would a regular Roman centurion have a 250 year old spear made of future metal?
@@Carabas72 That's where I think that theory falls apart. Plus, why would it go from Syracuse to Jerusalem? But, for me, like Indy, I can't figure out why that one item was fake when everything else was real.
The spear of destiny is a totally different story
@@scottketchie5703 There is an Indiana Jones story with the Spear of Destiny but that's what Indy is looking for at the beginning of this movie.
@@uzul42he survived it because it was super easy, barely an inconvenience
That pole should have taken off his noggin 😂
@@pamoweiberezi5315 Also so the movie could happen.
I was hoping he would know some form of black magic or ancient curse that kept him young or something
Nooooooooo they didn't get the best joke. In the scene at 17:40 Indy says "your face rings a bell" in reference to the Nazi's face getting destroyed on the train at the beginning
Think it's not a joke. Mads hits a water hose. The sound department did a bad job there
unfortunately many people hated on this movie, but I loved it, thought it had heart and realism and homages to the originals and Harrison gave it his all… people hate on it because he is old and sour, but that’s life, and he finds himself again, if you want fantasies in which everyone is perfect go watch Disney princesses flicks
I feel like most people on the internet haven't watched the other indiana jones movies in a long time because this really felt on par with all the other movies and all the criticism i've seen about this movie could easily be applied to all the other indiana jones movies
Thats cope brother
As someone who just got done watching all the movies for the first time. I think you’re spot on. I don’t understand the internets overblown hatred for this movie. I’d probably rank it number 3 for me. The Last Crusade and Raiders are my fav. But I quite enjoyed this movie!
My dad is a massive Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford fan and I was so glad he left with a big smile on his face leaving the theater that opening night. That will forever be a memory I cherish!! I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Overall entertaining and a solid ending.
27:33: I loved that sequence. Ancient Greek Muses and words. ❤❤❤❤ and I just loved the way she delivers the dialogue. Very sassy.
I really enjoy this movie. Emotional ending; probably third for me behind Raiders and Crusade
That’s exactly where I’d place it too. 👍
Makes me happy to see a healthy and fun discussion surrounding this movie in this video and in the commenta
This reaction was hilarious, loved how much you guys loved watching it. Such a fun film.
Totally agree, they’re still a lot of fun
I'm curious, is there any movie in existence that you don't like? Because if those are "decent", then you must not have the concept of a bad film.
@@za-ir5ni Maybe you let the internet influence your opinions too much lol
@@za-ir5ni What an insult. He already gave his opinion and said that he thought those were solid Indy films. Different people are going to have different opinions about movies. Just deal with it.
@harley2704 It's not an opinion that this is a terrible film. You, him, and Blind Wave just don't think critically about anything you watch. "Consume product and get excited for next product!" Like ffs, Eric literally said that because he's a Star Wars fan, he has to like everything that comes out from it.
I really appreciate this movie. As a standalone and also a conclusion to Indy's journey.
Notes: I, too, am relieved that you liked and enjoyed this movie as I did! 🤠😎
Harrison Ford was very active as an actor when he was younger.
I just need the Blind wave guys to watch Fleabag so badly. Like I can die happy afterward 🙏🏽
Fleabag is essential! And it's so short, it's barely an inconvenience
You guys should react to The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
I loved it my favourite film of 2023 and a fitting end to the Indiana Jones franchise. Glad you guys enjoyed the hell out of it too! ❤
Ya it's my favourite movie of 2023 too. There's nothing as entertaining as Indiana Jones.👍😀
@30:15 Aaron not remembering it's 1969 and Calvin looking at him like "you fucking idiot" 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Much respect to Calvin for rocking the Canada hoodie! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
My dad showed me the trilogy and then when Kingdom came out it got me so hyped + Lego Indiana Jones. This series is my childhood.
Its a treat this film. Genuinely don't get the hate for it. Its bookends make it.
I loved this film and it was a throw back to the proper swashbuckling adventures of the first three films.
I wish Antonio Banderas was in the movie more. I'm sure the reason he was cast in such a brief role was only to make the audience instantly like his character and be sad to see him go.
You guys missed the super secret after-credits scene that shows the fourth guy resurfacing!
Loved the reaction, but you boys missed the visual clue early at the beginning of the movie, where it showed the triangular US flag folded up beside a photo of Mutt, essentially saying he was dead.
Really enjoyed this last Indy
Do this day I’m left wondering; How did Mads Mickleson not die from that impact on the train.
Mikkelsen, not Mickleson 🙂
Roughly the same way Indy survived getting literally nuked. Physical injury in this franchise usually works on Loony Tune rules for main characters.
He survived it because it was super easy, barely an inconvenience
Often the end of the arm on a coaling or water tower has a hood to control the flow and prevent it from pouring too far off target. The hood would be made of canvas. Voller isn't hit by the arm itself, he's hit by the canvas hood on the end. Mind you, at that speed canvas would still pack quite a punch but it wouldn't necessarily be something you can't survive.
Indiana Jones is my favorite adventure hero
It’s kind of Indiana Jones tradition that the biggest henchman gets the worst death, so as soon as I saw that giant guy I was like “oh he’s gonna die and it’s gonna be brutal”
I full on thought that the Nazi would get stuck in the past and become archimedes
33:37 watch saw 2, and at THAT part, hold Aaron down. Scarring for him, entertainment for us!
At least he actually looks like he enjoys making them unlike Star Wars.
@@alucard624 fair enough 👍
@@alucard624well I think it's because this character means a lot to him, whereas with star Wars he doesn't really connect with the sci-fi stuff.
I’m glad you all enjoyed this movie! It got so much unnecessary hate IMHO. Some people on the internet are so mean!
Personally I love this movie. The ending is magnificent and the plot was amazing.
Raiders, Temple of Doom and Last Crusade is the main story. Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny is the epilogue.
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REACTION FOR SO LONG! This is my favorite movie of all time and I was just about to watch it again tonight!
This movie, although not perfect, was still an enjoyable and entertaining experience. Glad Harrison got to do it one last time, being Jones is 1 of 3 things he genuinely loves doing (the other 2 are getting stoned and flying planes)
Thrawns brother is fighting Han Solo omg
The whole time travel stuff should feel so out of place but for some reason when I watched this in theaters it just felt right
You would think there never was this much magic or scifi stuff in Indiana Jones movies, but then you think about it, and its not that out of nowhere, the other movies still had a lot of magic and mystery stuff in them.
@@TheNowerianRavendidn't the videogames have monsters in them? I'm not sure if they are considered to be canon with the movies though.
it could've been handled so poorly like aliens were in the last one, but it was handled correctly and fit so well with what Indiana Jones is all about.
9:58 Yea, Monday is named after the moon.
This is probably one of the best hard de-aging I've ever seen, young Indy looked REALLY good, sure its not perfect, but as you guys said its 90% there. Much MUCH better than what they did with Luke in The Mandalorian
Dial of Destiny's bad box office was hardly because of the 4th movie. The 4th was the highest earner of all of them.
I really liked this movie. Thought it was a great ending to the franchise
My ranking of the Indiana Jones Films Best to Worst
1. The Raiders of the Lost Ark
2. The Last Crusade
3. The Dial of Destiny
4. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
5. The Temple of Doom
It’s not as good as the original trilogy but I felt this was less shark jumping and ridiculous than kingdom
Best reactions on RUclips - you guys always give everything a fair shot and are never needlessly negative. Really enjoyed this vid :).
I really enjoyed this movie and Harrison Ford's performance. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Saw this in 4DX. It was fun, however the 4DX malfunctioned at the beginning. Nothing was happening and the chairs were shaking, lights were going off and water was spraying on our faces and it was just a dialogue scene. That was one hell of a conversation.
LOL the edits on this were great 😆
I watched this in theatres with my Brother and my Dad on opening weekend and I had a great time.
I need to go back but in regards to 7 of spades, how many ballistas hit the plane?
I was sad to see so many negative reviews of this film which inevitably contributed, in some part, to how poorly it performed at the box office.
In my opinion, it’s a very good Indiana Jones film. I had a blast watching it with my family
Popcorn fun unfortunately. To much reliance on cgi
I gave it another try here and I just can't vibe with it. Not a good movie. That said, I'm glad they still watch to enjoy, its a breath of fresh air.
