    The first round pick barton had a perfect 10 RAS score. He's projected to be in the middle of the line with wirfs at tackle. Goedeke and mauch should also take a step up creating one of the better offensive lines in the league. All that to say, bucky and white should be a quality 1-2 punch

      What's RAS?

    • @borderpatrolnp
      @borderpatrolnp 4 месяца назад +3

      @austinsullivan8975 relative athletic score. from the website.."Each prospect is given a score from 0 to 10 based on how their RAS matches up to those of the same position throughout history. A perfect 10 is top of the group and the best athlete ever to work out at that position while a 0 would be the worst."

      If Atlanta didn't pick penix the bucs might have not had a chance to draft Barton. The bucs scored in this draft as they did last year and to bring back the boys again for one last rodeo! I like peniks a lot and think he has star potential!

    I think Bucky is a great pick for this system. Lot of motion, get him in space and let him do what he does best, make people miss! Gonna be a blast watching him in the same backfield as White! Potential to be a great tandem! GO BUCS!

    He and Rachaad are So dangerous catching swing passes out of the backfield... I know NFL teams don't line up two tailbacks together... But if we lined up both Rachaad and Irving in the backfield at the same time, would a defense DARE to ever blitz knowing that we'd probably hit their vacated area with one or the other of these guys?

    A walk on Bill Shaeffer is a great intelligent line backer and can play long snapper, what a combination and saves a position especially if he can at least back up a regular long snapper. Billy Shaeffer ability to create turnovers and get tackles for a loss is tremendous! He has a lot of potential!

    • @xunoriginalnamex
      @xunoriginalnamex 4 месяца назад

      He could definitely end up being a steal. The main reason he lasted till the 6th is because UTEP is so run heavy and his pass pro reps were very limited. But that DOESN'T mean he's bad at it. So we'll likely see him work to develop that in OTAs/camp, and could be solid depth for the run game in the meantime.

  • @xunoriginalnamex

    With this pick, the Bucs did something very similar to the Rams. The Rams basically justified their pick of Corum by saying "we love Kyren Williams and he reminds us a lot of him", and here we have Irving who's very similar to White.
    Some fans seem to think you NEED to have a thunder+lightning combo, but if one style of RB works very well in your system(which White does, we just need interior OL help - which Barton should provide), why not get 2 of them? You can switch them in and out without having to change your looks or approach at all.

  • @robwells1181

    Really liked the pick, but my vote goes to 1st rounder Graham Barton! Their interior oline will be improved, which will really help the running game.

    I like the pick a lot but will need to improve his blocking otherwise his touches will be very limited, Now I know Barton is not the sexiest pick on the 1st round but this dude will be a pro bowl in a year or two as a center and by improving the middle Baker can step up to deliver the ball and will improve the running game as well, Go Bucs!

    I personally think Tykee Smith could be one of the biggest steals of the draft. The Bucs have a history of having huge draft steals taken in the 3rd with players like Chris Godwin, John Lynch, and Ronde Barber. Knowing their history of 3rd rd DB's Smith could be special. As far as Bucky goes he's the perfect example of practice speed vs game speed, some players just play faster when they're on the field.

    Some of the same things were said about Warrick Dunn, who came to the Bucs from FSU in 1997 @ 5' 9", 175. Dunn was a college T&F sprinter, also - definitely faster than Irving.
    Looks like Irving has at least 10 lbs of muscle mass over Dunn.
    Both have similar balance skills and running style. Both made tacklers miss, and can redirect their momentum on a dime.
    Dunn lasted thru 12 productive NFL seasons - 15,000 all-purpose yds, and rarely missed games with injury.
    Irving looks like he has more strength/weight to run thru tackles, especially if tacklers go for the 'slobber-knocker' hit and don't wrap up, quick.
    Dunn didn't do as well as Irving does at running through heavy contact up the middle; DLs could bring Dunn down with a one-arm tackle. Irving runs with better power.
    Of course - we've all seen what Dunn could do, in both college and pro. Irving hasn't played a single down of NFL ball, yet.
    Hope Irving can be as good in pass pro as Dunn. For his entire NFL career, Dunn was an amazingly effective blocker in the pocket, for such a small guy. All that great blitzer-blocking was wasted on mediocre QB & WRs, while he was with Tampa Bay.
