Fijian people a very educated, they can speak english. It would be nice to have acknowledged the villagers for making the village look beautiful. Melanesian from PNG.
Nah we're not gamblers like your countrymen to dump you in the middle of the road like that. 😂 That may not be my village but understandably only those who work in the city live in the city most of the time. Those who live in that village mostly have their own source of income like fishing and farming so basically living off the land and river there. And yeah, most of the villagers understand what you're saying in English but some can't speak or converse back fluently. Basically listening is one thing but speaking or talking is another. At least you understand how some of us live, especially in remote areas where it's pretty normal even if it's surprising to you.
I wouldn't get dumped lol 😂. Living off the land is stress free. It was an experience seeing it in person. Yeah I noticed greeting in the village was fine but when it came to having conversation it was a different story.

That body of water is the ocean.
The village in Verata?
I will have to check that out to confirm. Thanks for the comment!
@@Teimonger7 Looks like Verata district from what I see here
Most of them understand English. It’s that conversation part that they don’t feel comfortable with.
Thanks for viewing! Some understand very little. It wasn’t just English but my American English accent threw some off.
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ You went to a village beside the city!? Should have chosen one in the interior.
Thanks for viewing! It wasn’t a choice. It’s my friends village
