you should be immensley proud of this video. Brilliant and beautiful. What an amazing view of the city, so clean and CRISP, no heat haze nothing to spoil it. Then you get the second porterDash8 taking off. Great job mister, very high quality and genuinely very enjoyable to watch.
This video is always brilliant! Never get tired of watching it. I always love sitting at the window seat in hope of getting good landing views like this. Amazing!
Wow! It's been so long since I flew out of Toronto Island Airport! Thanks so much for the magnificent view--damn, I miss those so much. And the Dash 8's are still flying too! I remember that plane from my flight to Ottawa (DeHavilland Dash 8 and Dash 7's), all the way back in the 80's-90's. I believe Air Ontario used to fly them out of Toronto Island. I see they've changed but in a nice way--thanks again man! Safe Landings, always. >:o)
I don't know about you guys but I always have this strange feeling when I land in a new city I've never been to. It's a strange feeling like the kind you might get on your first day back to school from summer break. That's the best way I can describe it.
@frequentairbusflyer8 Looks like porter airlines has taken great interest in your video! They faved it and they are talking about it on porter's Facebook page! Once again, GREAT VID! 5*
I remember going to toronto a few weeks ago for a concert and while driving to the venue saw a plane very low out above the water I had no idea there was an airport near so I though I was witnessing another emergency landing on water!
That area where the beach is at 0:25 is where I live. I walk my dog at the beach, but even just in the area I see Porter and AC Express Q400s ALL the time. Departing, arriving, they're impossible to count. But the view they get on every approach and every takeoff is awesome, I still really want to fly with PD out of YTZ sometime!
@Toronto324 Its called Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (officially), was Toronto City Centre Airport up until 2009 - It's refereed to as City Centre, or Toronto Island Airport.
Is that Cherry beach? at first I thought it was Scarborough bluffs but then on second thought I was like it was too close to Downtown to be bluffs. Miss Toronto, cant wait to be back in this awesome city!
Porter is one of the best regional airlines I’ve ever taken, and their fares are some of the best on the market! It’s a small airport on the island in the Toronto Harbor, but it’s so easy to fly out of there because it’s so small. Unlike flying out of Toronto’s Pearson International airport, flying from the island airport is so relaxing, there’s never any lineups, the waiting area is fully stocked with all the free snacks and drinks you could ever want. Every time I flew in with Porter, I have always been on time, I got to Washington DC in 48 minutes, I got to NYC in 55 minutes, and they offer free shuttle service to and from the airport, so if you’re ever thinking about flying with Porter, I highly recommend it. But I have to laugh looking at this video, this was in 2010, if you compare it to the skyline today, it doesn’t even look like the same city, there are so many more buildings now, the ones that you see here are practically buried behind a gigantic wall of steel and glass office buildings and condominiums, and there’s no end in sight to the construction boom. With over 350 skyscrapers either under construction or awaiting approval, the city is going to look like a little Manhattan, if you take away the CN Tower, I’ll bet you anything most people could not tell what city it is anymore, and I LOVE IT! I’m 49 years old, I was born here, and have lived my entire life here, the city just keeps getting bigger and bigger, and as an architecture and skyscraper fanatic, I couldn’t be happier! On average we get over 110 000 new citizens in the city alone every year, unfortunately it’s driving up the price of real estate, a small one bedroom condominium is now $500 000 for 400sq ft! I guess that’s the price we have to pay for progress, but compared to other cities half hour size, crime rates are pretty much nonexistent, our economy is amongst the most powerful on earth, our healthcare system is second to none, and although they call it free healthcare, we do pay more in taxes, but nobody will ever get a doctors bill in the city, ever, and it’s just a really nice city to live in, with Miles of nature trails and bicycle trails all throughout the city, if you’ve never been here, I’d highly suggest you pay us visit, especially if you’re American, because with the exchange rate, everything here is so cheap for you, and there’s everything you could possibly imagine to do here! The only thing I hate is our traffic and our public transit, both of which are always jampacked and slow, but for tourists it’s not a problem, there’s numerous guided tours of the city, rental bikes, or the best way to get around of all?, Walking.
i sit on the benches right there where that ferry is. if you pause just at touchdown, you'll see a white ferry (red and white box and silos in background), just behind that is a picnic bench. one of the best spots in Toronto.
@akerbie Toronto Pearson is the main international airport in Toronto; currently, only Porter serves Billy Bishop Airport commercially, however starting February 2011, Air Canada Jazz (AC's regional airline), will start service to Montreal's Trudeau airport. Both Pearson, and Billy Bishop Airports are capable of handling international flights, as both have customs officers on site. Glad I could provide you some FACTUAL information for a change :P
where did you fly from? I'm asking cuz were departing Timmins and I would love to have my son have the window seat so he can experience the view(s) seen in your video. I would like to know which seats to choose! although I understand there may be a chance that a different approach may be used but just to have that chance you know!.. Cheers -Paul
I'd love to fly Porter but they are too expensive when I can easily fly out of Buffalo for less than half the price. It's almost worth it for these great views though. The city looked amazing on this sunny day...
@fifteenrocks So you like the cool fly by? First, Porter airlines is also barely afloat as it is. If you look at actual statistics it's no asset to the city, unless by city you mean a small handful high-ups from the financial district. Toronto has a massive airport and it's entirely the city's fault for not having subway access to it. There's also another huge air strip with two subway stations beside it at the 401 and Dufferin where these planes should be landing. It's called Downsview.
Toronto is certainly huge and beautiful from this perspective although I never really liked the city. They were 2nd to Montreal at one time until 1976 when the PQ came to power. Since then it's been a downhill slide that will continue, no matter who is in power. At this time the PQ is back in albeit a minority.
I loveee flying in along the skyline with Porter! Glad you recorded this!
Great Video!! I missed Toronto!! What a beautiful city!!!
Fantastic video. Like how the airport is so close to the main city. It looks that way. The video is of outstanding quality as well. Outstanding!
OMG this is one of the best Toronto skyline vids I've ever seen.

Great video! Thank you for reminding me what a beautiful city I come from.
This video is always brilliant! Never get tired of watching it. I always love sitting at the window seat in hope of getting good landing views like this. Amazing!

Awesome video, I've done this in a Dash-7 except we were on a right downwind. Surprisingly short carrier-style turn to final and a firm arrival!

Cool video
That's it!
I'm going to live in Toronto when I get the chance.
I'm from Ottawa but I love Toronto!!
That's a sexy looking Skyline.
Nice Video!!! It reminds me on London-City
NIce , I Like It :D
Beautiful skyline .. Toronto
This was 2010. See Toronto now booming with condos and skyscrapers
Its funny because your name is frequentairbusflyer but your on a Q400. Though I must say, awesome video
I always look forward to landing at Billy Bishop. We always use Porter if possible.
Very Nice.
God damn thats awesome
Hey I'm flying there today(From YYT-YUL, then YUL YTZ) Cant wait!!!
@logastra
thanks, I love this city too!
When I got to get my Chinese Visa renewed, I saw one of these planes landing next to where my car was driving in Downtown Toronto! (I`m from Windsor)
The runways at Bishop say that they are over 1,000 feet shorter than the minimum for the q400. How do they safely operate there?
I love Toronto, but i do agree.. The city needs another modern day iconic sky scrapper(s)
Thank you!
nice channel. Liked and Subbed.

I
Which airport in Toronto is this? Pearson or International? Would really like to know?
I forgot to ask, What type camera was that you used?
@frequentairbusflyer8
Really? Toronto? Are we talking about the same city here?
@ronten27
Every detail about the flight is in the description my friend!
superbbbb
Toronto - csodálatosan szép!
@4EvaPawan next year, theyre gonna replace all the marble tiles with white glass and the corners will be a dark brown.
cool!

@MrCheesypuf there will be more tall condo construction. the condos are luxurious trust me, but parking cost is the main problem.
I live close to the water plantation. I also see my house
wow nice reverse!
@dustymiller65
Hey, thanks for watching! Safe flying to you too!
Well done, indeed
@TAT2DJAX Ta for that! Much appreciated.
I am not saying about how tall the CN is , but I said the downtown Toronto looks older , of course New York looks even worse to me.
Thanks for watching!
@TheKevintheman100
thanks!
@fuhyuangkang
Go right ahead :) and thanks for watching!
In the background, you can see David Miller waving his fist.
what did the flight attendant say about abuse of baggage carryon?
Smaller luggage can be dropped as you enter the plane and picked up as you leave. Quicker and easier if you are not checking anything.
airport approach WIN
but nice vid anyway :D
Woodbine Beach, in the Beaches Area. ;)
@yomamasapeach
haha yea, thanks!
Cleveland has a similar one
@Jathread001
"Canon sd780is" Thanks for watching!
