I remember we passed on Steve Johnson from the Cats because of a medical diagnosis of his ankle. Look what he did after that back at Geelong, including against us in a GF.
Develop what we have. They'll have A grade tutoring from an outstanding coaching group and top notch senior hardened professionals and essentially not worth the risk as good as a fit Allen is.
No!!!!!!!! Teasedale, Edwards and Walker all failed because of knee issues! Collingwood has been down this road before... Thru the 80s and 90s . Go and ask Tony Shaw. Btw .. all three of those guys were absolutely guns!!! This bloke is not ....and a bad knee......do not risk the bank
Good in 23, and up to his injury was ok in 24. Was he perhaps coming into his prime? Or perhaps not. It's tempting, but with his bad knee, and Collingwood outbidding WC for his services, I see many red flags.
With the Rocca brothers coming in the future I’d say Oscar is too big of a risk as eagles are going to want top dollar . Can’t afford another big name player on the side lines especially with a stuffed knee. Rather stick with our new draftees.
You must be Kidding right? what collingwood take a risk? elite player or not! we do not take risks anymore at the pies with our future playing stocks! if we are smart.

@@rossgregor4817 very true

Hell no, why would we want a key forward with 40 yr old knees? Would be an awful decision.
Not wasting my time alot of footy players have retired early due to degenerative knee issues I'm putting my time in young West.
Looking at the comments it seems to be unanimous - great player but a huge risk - pass. Another excellent summary Anthony.
Makes sense! I wonder if any club outside of the Eagles would entertain the risk?
4:20 he won't be 27 at the end of 2025 he would be 26
I Would not worry about him,too risky
I thought for a while that Oscar would have been a good fit at the Pies. But hearing about his knee, it's not worth the risk.
Hey Anthony how are you doing today I would love if we got Oscar Allen to Collingwood next year I hope it happen Go Pies
Hey Chris, doing well thank you! Lets see what ends up happening.
No shot if his knee is that bad. Too much risk for what it will take to get him
As a free agent yeah take a punt on a 3 year deal
Forget it...
No, not if Oscar Allen has bad knees. We do not need to take on a damaged player
A no from me, I'm not a risk taker
Fair enough!

Why would Allen leave west coast lol. Blokes from WA and is their captain.

These theoretical signings are getting less and less likely, I’d be very surprised if he plays for collingwood
Anth would you buy a broken down race horse!???
I know I know
WTF if this all falls into place as you say the Pies will be in the bottom3 for a while within 3 years. Good OLD Collingwood for ever.
Stay away from a guy with a 40-year-old knee. Not worth the risk and and giving away so many first round draft picks.

the rocca brothers??
Why would we want another Injury Prone Player?
It’s a fair question. Potential is exponential though

Stranger things have happened!
Been down this path before, so thumbs down from me.
Hasnt Collingwood learnt from having players with bad knees & shoulfers. Eg Rusling, langford & walker. Just saying
Shocks lad
Sorry i meant langdon.
pass
Why take a player with a bung knee…. I don’t get why they would even contemplate it
Listen Pies fans, don't start recruiting cripples again, we need long term reliable players. Talk like this makes young ones leave & look elsewhere.
