Cause people like my friend re-introduces me to yugioh again when I’m older and have a job to pay for stuff, now obviously I’m not spending thousands on cards but people from my generation are getting older and some are rich, they miss their childhood and buy up all the old stuff to keep/sell for profit later.
Neither of your cards would be worth as much as these. PSA 10 is hugely different than a PSA 6-7. Having a card in a binder and fumbling it in and out as a kid, along with leaving it in areas where it might get too warm, too cold, etc. completely ruins the value.
yup. my dad told me this (he was dumb and invested in beanie babies) so i ended up getting a first edition charizard graded at an 8, and a few others graded 7-9 and ended up making a pretty penny which i wasted on drugs :(

Also makes me think back to the days my friends bought out their cards and played with them on the concrete floor...and when my mates younger brother got pissed and got my mates entire collection and threw it out the bedroom window...

Story of a 40 year old robbing me at 10 for a Yugioh card: When I was 10 years old I was in a card shop called Bigfoot's Cards & Comics in Washington State. I entered a tournament with my Kaiba starter deck and got knocked out first round but all entries got a complimentary tournament pack. Each pack had like 2 cards in it. I pulled a Needle Worm and the entire shop freaked out. Some 40 year old dude with his kid who was probably 5 years old baited me into the corner and traded like 10 holographics of my choice out of his binder for the Needle Worm. Of course being a stupid little kid I took quantity over quality. The dude disappeared out of the shop with his kid within minutes. About 30 minutes later the Owner of the card shop asked if he could take a picture of me holding the card to show we pulled one here. I didn't have it anymore obviously and the owner started asking what happened and who took it from me. The dude went bolting out the shop looking for the creepy guy that stole my card. Anyways...when my mom picked me up I was crying because the card shop owner told me what it was that I got robbed for. Anyways yeah that was my first dose of the cruel world we live in.

An old friend who owned a shop in my home town when I was a kid recently sold me 4 sealed LOB first edition boxes he had sitting in his old storage unit for £300. He had a total of 9 boxes, he was prepared to sell me all of them at a stupidly low price. I felt terrible and told him how much they were worth to the American Market, he gave me the 4 for the original price he asked because I was honest with him. Kinda regret not keeping my mouth shut but hey, I just couldn't bring myself to rip someone off that much.

I have the entire collection of cards from the original Yu-Gi-Oh series when I was a kid. I want to get them graded and would love to sell a lot of them but honestly don’t even know where to start.

I'm jealous of that 1st edition lob Blue-Eyes can't find one in perfect condition, I've been looking for a PSA 10 1st edition lob blue-eyes for 4 years.
I had so many of those cards from when I was little and playing in IRL Tournaments and shit. Including that final Blue Eyes. I was actually reeeeally young when I opened it and was disappointed because it didn't look like the other Blue Eyes that my brother had, as I prefered that design. I know for a FACT that I had the Red Eyes and Jinzo as well, but I gave away my collection to my friend for free. I'll have to see if I have any of these left.
The condition, edition, rarity, and generation is what matters though. Don't feel too bad, because 99% chance you didn't own these exact cards. Most big Yu-Gi-Oh players owned most of these cards, but not from those packs or rarities.
Sick collection man! All my cards barely reach the amount of ~200-300 bucks lol, nevertheless it's a great collection. You should definitely keep them.
If you're looking to get into collecting vintage Yugioh cards at this point I'd honestly recommend avoiding graded, first edition cards and hitting up the MP/LP unlimited editions instead. The other stuff is just too darn expensive for most of us. Ironically, most of the cards I used as a child were HP and unlimited at best. So the nostalgia hits just as hard!
Question so I have been collecting yugioh cards for years now and I have well over 12000 cards and I have never had any of them graded. How would u go about choosing which ones to get graded? On top of the ones listed here of course
Use tcgplayer.com and check card values. Make sure you're checking the proper print of the card for value since a lot of cards are printed in multiple sets

I had so many of those cards from when I was little and playing in IRL Tournaments and shit. Including that final Blue Eyes. I was actually reeeeally young when I opened it and was disappointed because it didn't look like the other Blue Eyes that my brother had, as I prefered that design. I know for a FACT that I had the Red Eyes and Jinzo as well, but I gave away my collection to my friend for free. I'll have to see if I have any of these left.

The condition, edition, rarity, and generation is what matters though. Don't feel too bad, because 99% chance you didn't own these exact cards. Most big Yu-Gi-Oh players owned most of these cards, but not from those packs or rarities.

If you're looking to get into collecting vintage Yugioh cards at this point I'd honestly recommend avoiding graded, first edition cards and hitting up the MP/LP unlimited editions instead. The other stuff is just too darn expensive for most of us. Ironically, most of the cards I used as a child were HP and unlimited at best. So the nostalgia hits just as hard!

Use tcgplayer.com and check card values. Make sure you're checking the proper print of the card for value since a lot of cards are printed in multiple sets
