The actual legal version should have not been THAT nerfed. At least keep the “monsters can be in backrow” effect and if the seal is removed from field then the backrows instant die.
The deal breaker for me was that the card destroys your special summon monsters and locks you out of the extra deck. It was unnecessary to put that effect in since 500 atk really isn't that much of a boost, and it only protects your monsters from battle destruction which is kind of irrelevant. @@Huzimov In tournaments, duels are played in matches which is best of 3 games so whoever wins 2 of those 3 games wins the match. The match winner cards make it so that if you win the duel using their effects, you win the match without having to play a second or possibly third duel or if you lost game 1 but win game 2 with the match winning effect. However, before the direct attack connects, the player on the receiving end of it can just surrender the current duel so they don't lose the match. So by design, the cards are very degenerate and promote unsportsman-like conduct in duels, but also bad because they're held back by bad summoning drawbacks. That's why Victory Dragon is on the Forbidden part of the Forbidden and Limited list. The other match winners though are just trophies.

@@ich3730 Nah, they're treated as Continuous Spells back there. The idea of attacking with 10 monsters in one turn is tremendously entertaining, though.
I wish Queen of Fate - Eternia had been printed as a regular card instead of a match-winner card because her artwork is directly related to the Demise and Ruin series, a series of cards that I love the aesthetic of.
I have this idea for new prize card series. These are cards with different types and effects but all share a text: "If this face up card leave the field, you lose the match". It will also be illegal for a tournament too
I do think the idea of using the spell/trap card zone as extra monster zones is a neat idea. Maybe a way to balance it is to have the effects of monsters in those zones negated.
Masahiro the Dark Clown: When this card is flipped face up, both players, or the current turn player in a tag team match, play a 3-stock match in Smash Ultimate (the player with the least amount of Life Points decides other rules outside of the 3 stock format). He also said he was a vampire, could stop time, and was more than 100 years old... Actually, thinking about it, Konami would absolutely hire Dio Brando.
Every time I do a search for Link Monster ideas in obscure decks or decks that lock you into certain Types and/or Attributes, I see the Link Monsters that have the Victory Dragon effect.

Kinda wish the real Orichalcos played more with the "new monster" zones effect, even if nerfed. Also, keep the LOSE YOUR SOUL clause, it's clearly the best part.
The easy way to balance it is by making it so you can't activate/set spells or traps in the entire backrow while using it for monsters.

The actual legal version should have not been THAT nerfed. At least keep the “monsters can be in backrow” effect and if the seal is removed from field then the backrows instant die.
Alright how do you counter a full field of 10 monsters with negates?
The deal breaker for me was that the card destroys your special summon monsters and locks you out of the extra deck. It was unnecessary to put that effect in since 500 atk really isn't that much of a boost, and it only protects your monsters from battle destruction which is kind of irrelevant. The card would have already been nerfed enough but Konami really wanted to make sure it sucked.
@@stevenceja4706
When I was a beginner playing yugioh pro, I accidentally circumvented said situation because the only extra deck monster I had when I summoned the seal of orichalcos was Wind Up Zenmaines. As a result I kept my monster and my opponent lost a card...still sucked to lose one xyz material that way. XD

I never understood the effect of most of these cards. “Of course you win when you reduce you opponents’ life points to zero, duh.” But now I finally get it! Thanks!
Can you explain? I have the same exact question
@@ShiningJudgment666 thank you!
I love your videos and watched all of the top ten videos although I didn't play yugioh for like 10 years. I also really enjoy it when older cards come up in your videos, would be cool if you could make more videos about old cards. Anyway, keep up the good work!
I do my best to explain the cards as if I'm explaining them to people who only know the basics of the game.
The really sad thing about these cards is that their artwork is amazing and for most of them their aren't even legal versions.

The illegal version of The Seal of Orichalcos somewhat predicted the coming of Pendulum Monsters.
The Seal of Orichalcos' story is an interesting one, I wish it kept his hand trap effect with the other effects of the TCG legal version of the card!
I wish Queen of Fate - Eternia had been printed as a regular card instead of a match-winner card because her artwork is directly related to the Demise and Ruin series, a series of cards that I love the aesthetic of.
Is it possible for a card to 'break the 4th wall'. I get that sort of vibe from some of these cards.
"I'm feeling the flow!" not the best thing to shout in T.V.
I have this idea for new prize card series. These are cards with different types and effects but all share a text: "If this face up card leave the field, you lose the match". It will also be illegal for a tournament too
It would be horrendous if it didn't have near-blanket protection. Even unkillable monsters can be taken out these days.
I do think the idea of using the spell/trap card zone as extra monster zones is a neat idea. Maybe a way to balance it is to have the effects of monsters in those zones negated.
it's pend with extra steps
Masahiro the Dark Clown: When this card is flipped face up, both players, or the current turn player in a tag team match, play a 3-stock match in Smash Ultimate (the player with the least amount of Life Points decides other rules outside of the 3 stock format). The winner of that game in Smash wins the Duel. This effect can only be used once per match.
I had a friend that said he was a member of the upper eschalon at Konami back in 2009-2010 and he showed me his copy of the seal of orichalcos. I thought it was really cool until I realized he either bought it or made a fake of it because he was in 8th grade at the time and I don't think Konami would let a literal child work in such a high position. He also said he was a vampire, could stop time, and was more than 100 years old...
