Their goalkeeper kept them in it at times I don't think we were lucky that goal at the end was a clear handball a couple of better headed finished from Joe and burn would have sealed the game
@@mattyearl8281 Hit his shoulder though. The rule is generally anything above the short sleeve isnt considered a hand ball (Unless it's changed)... So I'm confuzzed as to what the ref saw there because it clearly hit his shoulder.

Thankfully Trippier hasn't gone, what a difference he made. And the VAR was the correct decision despite the sky poordits opinion, it hit his arm not his shoulder. And perhaps they should say arm ball rather than the silly hand ball
But isnt the rule that if it hits you above the short sleeve it's not considered a hand ball? That was definitely closer to his shoulder than it was to the bottom of his sleeve.
@@daaichommie708 I thought it was nearer the elbow and that's what the VAR team must of thought with all their gizmo's. And it should be the whole arm anyway, don't know who came out with the ridicolous top of the arm is ok, just creates subjectivity.
It hits Burn's shoulder so it's an own goal. Doesn't definitively touch the Bournemouth player's arm, so there's no way var should be intervening to overturn the goal.
Every player is entitled to an off day, and it was Joelinton’s turn today… I haven’t said this much since Howe come in, but this is one to forget for big Joe!
We were ok for the first 10 mins. Well below until the last 25 mins, with the subs and alterations. The ver decision was correct and made me feel much happier with a point away from home. On to the cup game and expecting a better performance.
Joelinton needs to track back and try and recover that ball after losing it, Krafth ball watching and flat-footed. Early days we still need to find more gears
I'm still in shock how we even got a point out of this game. Did well in first 15 mins and then heads dropped until the subs were made in 2nd half. Joe and Murphy were awful, Barnes has to start against Spurs. If we don't get the signings in asap it's going to be a long and difficult season ahead.
Flat preseason against who? No signings. Eales can't read a spreadsheet so no Minteh on the right ... everyone's on edge .. new DoF .coming in and with Bunce on the training ground this seems to be unsettling the coaching team.
I was proper annoyed by this performance. Out worked by Bournemouth. Couple of our starting players looked good albeit we couldn't get them the ball enough and in good enough positions, namely Isak. Our midfield weren't good enough n getting pressed, struggled with that and Joelinton in particular was terrible not releasing the ball quick enough. Don't mean to be harsh but the thing that gave Joelinton his turnaround story is how hard he worked when Eddie came in, and great, now he has his confidence back and looked like a new man but for me his work rate ain't half what it was in Eddie's first season here and we're seeing a player in all honesty I can't see why they had him starting over Willock who was much better and more effort when he came on. Joelinton wasn't entirely to blame for the Bournemouth goal, probably only about 99% to blame. Emil Krafth's position in the goal mouth and hesitation to put his leg out to block the low driven cross was part of it. Absolutely terrible player and terrible selection from Eddie Howe. Also, Eddie Howe leaving it till so late in the game to start making drastic changes really bugged me. Was quite obvious from early on we were second best and I don't see why even the changes being made by half time instead of 60 something minutes was necessary. Needlessly wasted at least quarter of the game more with the same shite before some changes that actually did improve the performance by end of the game.
Any point on the road is a good point, Barnes and Trippier need to start against Spurs. If we beat Spurs at home then that's 7 points out of the first 3 games which is a very good start.
I have a question: How long are you going to play full-backs in the center of defense and this is how you want to win a place in the Champions League? When will you buy a good central defender, a good right winger and a good attacking midfielder?..
Eddie Howe's greatest managerial achievement was keeping Bournemouth up for a few seasons (and still ended up getting them relegated). You will not be regular contenders with him in charge. I'm sure that the owners know this by now but opt to keep him out of his media love and the fans seem to like him.
Messing around with palace player when theres a decent RW player needed. That game was shocking to watch . Jo linton was shocking what happened in this game because just wasn’t good enough at all . Not the best performance, but its so tiring to see very negative comments about our current management team comparing them to those before them! If we go out and splash freely, we might find ourselves in the same situation as PSR deadline. As wonderful a job as Amanda, Mehded & Howe have done, we ended up in the PSR situation under their watch, and we cannot afford to be in the same situation. We have been busy securing sponsors behind the scenes to be financially stable, Mitchell is no 'one-hit' wonder and has to work strictly within Howe's preferences to keep him happy, give them the time and please don't overreact!
Not good enough. Passive and lacking intensity. The same old problem that characterised NUFC's away performances last season. If NUFC have any realistic chance of top 4, then they can't be a team that only produces the results at home. Kind of wondering if Howe favours a containing brand of football away from home, even though it continues to fail to deliver results. It would explain these kind of performances.
Not liking the commentary on these highlights this season. Much prefer the passionate BBC Newcastle commentary. This is the NUFC channel, neutral commentators just don’t fit for me.
Shocking performance especially in the first half. That's 5 consecutive games without beating Bournemouth. I bet the owners don't have that in mind. Absolutely ridiculous picks by Howe once again. Hall and Barnes must start and Gordon should be playing as a Rw this kid can easily rip Murphy's - Almiron's numbers apart as a Rw.
MOTD think Joelinton pulling back the keeper is a red card. What planet are they on? If that happened in the centre circle it would be a yellow, never seen anyone sent off for that in the middle of the park. I guess that's what you get when you have woke BBC asking the opinion of female ex players who have obviously never played the mens game.
People giving this misogynistic comment a thumbs up should be ashamed of themselves, irrespective of whether Joelinton should or shouldn't have got a red card. I'm almost certain the female ex players in question have considerably more football talent in their little fingers than the sad poster.
I don't understand why we don't use the loan market. Instead of wasting 70mln on an overpriced CB...just loan one with an option to buy if it confirms, and spend the money on a decent RW. And i hope Eddie stops with the contract renewals for this "friends" with expiring contracts next year (Kraft, Longstaff, Wilson, Burn, Lascelles etc)...but knowing him...
Well said. I said this in the first season. He brought along his Bourmouth loyalists instead of what's best for what the owners want, which is high intensity ball. While he did well in the first season, you could see half way through that he wasnt the right man to propel Newcastle (Which I knew from the get go). You can't have a manager who's greatest achievement was keeping Bournmouth up, and expect him to do well with higher calibre players.

I'm ashamed that I'm a Newcastle fan... I wasted a lot of time every day keeping track of who you want to buy... doingI hope... I hope I can at least apologize to the Newcastle fans for your embarrassing summer transfer window... it's an embarrassment. and I understand that, at best, I will be able to count on Botman when he returns from injury, a player who was very weak last season and on whomI couldn't look anymore.
