We should point out how when Young Xehanort said to Riku that someone that completely absorbs darkness and traps it is of no use to him.
It's exactly how MoM explained how the foretellers couldn't be possessed by the entities of darkness.
I believe Xehanort became the seeker of darkness specifically because the book stated the darkness will win in the end, and I think he is right, just not in the way he thought.
With the final fight in kh3, kingdom hearts is used to force Sora in his rage form. Probably because Xehanort knew Sora would be at a big disadvantage having to use darkness, and yet Sora still whoops ass. In kh2 the darkness was too much for him to stay in control, hence why he loses the keyblade in anti form, But in kh3 he keeps it. Sora is learning and his control of the darkness is only going to get better.
Maybe you mention it in the video. I haven't finished it before typing this. But if the theory is true, it makes sense to have Riku with Sora in Quadratum. Riku has a unique connection to darkness, being able to safely channel it without being taken over by it. Young Xehanort confirms this oddity in DDD and even states that he's unsure of how Riku did it. That assumes that the way Xehanort wields darkness is somehow different than how Riku does. Xehanort gives himself over to darkness entirely, while Riku acknowledges his darkness, restrains it, and uses it to his favor. Xehanort uses darkness like he's a servant of it and lets it freely flow through him like a conduit, while Riku treats darkness like a dangerous animal that is caged and well-trained to do as he says.
So who better than Riku to teach Sora how to accept and control his darkness properly without being taken over by it?
And when the world needed him most... HE RETURNED! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
8:52 “Beings of Light” - that are each supposedly housing one of the 7 darknesses with six of them trapped in the digital world.
Four were trapped, two were killed by Sora, one became the Dark Inferno he slain, the other became Vanitas who was killed off twice.

I hope Sora’s descent into darkness allows Kairi to take center stage. I would love to see Sora trying to use the darkness to defeat the Master of Masters and almost losing himself to it (better yet, actually playing through that descent) and then Kairi coming to save him

Another thing, Dream Eaters, what are they if not Darkness? Yen Sid said it in the realm of Sleep there is only darkness, the benevolend Spirits and the Nightmares both Dream Eaters, both beings of Darkness. The series has actually been hinting at this since Sora made friend with being of Darkness that protect the hearts of thousands of poor souls in DDD, not that we knew at the time why they were special, but we knew that they were darkness the Spirit Dream Eaters.
Also the Master of Masters is a master of both light and darkness since he created Dream Eaters, which would be a perfect way for Sora to master both to being an equal to the Master of Masters.
I think Darkness may actually be the hearts natural state but was made better when filled with light with all the people and connections made in their lifetime. Darkness is natural and it is light that fills up ones heart both combat and compliment each other in an eternal dance in all hearts. But darkness can be any negative emotion and I think in Kingdom Hearts 4 Sora will come to terms to with his own Sadness and feeling of inadequacy and will learn from new Disney characters what its like to be the darkness. In a person's heart Darkness's job is to protect with its power and the Light's job is to guide the individual. I predict Sora will meet Disney characters that have to be the bad guy to understand Darkness better and why its needed to keep the light in check. Similar to how Beast acted in Kingdom Hearts 1.
That would give a really good narrative reason to put Sora in the world of Wreck-It-Ralph. Especially since that world showed up in Union Cross at some point.
@@feiradragon7915 I have another theory about the Cable Portal they're trapped in. What if the Cable Portal is actually the Dark Corridor that Xehanort and other Villain's use. It became the Dark Corridor after they got trapped.

I agree. I do believe that this saga will be about exploring Sora's darkness and learning to use it's power in tandem with his light. Infact I think that image of Xehanort is a early peak into him being with Sora. Like I think Sora having the Xblade is Xehanort's means of the 14th life. He will be traveling with Sora and instructing him on how he was capable of controlling darkness. I also think he needs this darkness to finally summon the X~blade. Why? Because the X~blade he has is made of solely darkness.

I can totally see them making Sora go through a Dark Road, however messy, only to come out having a better understanding of it. Like with Riku but more, he could come to understand both Light and Dark in a way that no other character has.
Especially with the scenes you've shown of the Sora = Xehanort parallels. As Dark doesn't = Bad, while Light doesn't = Good. Sometimes you gotta do both.
I believe Sora will figure out what Riku actually means to him, and that Riku is the True Light, a Light immune to Darkness , as Young Xehanort states. Sora needs to learn to Believe in himself the way Riku Believes in him. And Riku and Sora , Two become One, They will spread that immunity to Darkness.
I genuinely believe that KH4 Will be tackling this and it is correct.
Sora won't admit it but he does have issues/Darkness in his Heart that He needs to face. His breakdown in KH3 was caused by Sora being deep in the light. He relied on the Connections He Made and when Everyone was taken by the Demon Tide, He Broke down Believing that He was worthless alone. Yet many times have proven that to not be true. He clearly suffers from Low Self-Esteem ever since He failed the Mark of Mastery. Also worth noting that Ever since Sora met Donald and Goofy in KH1. They stated that "This Ship only runs on Happy Faces" Sora pushed his Negative Emotions and to not show any signs of it to not fail His Friends. (Rage Form back this up)
In Re: Coded Nammine told Data-Sora that the Real Sora has Forgotten Memories deep in His Heart and if they were to return in the Wrong Way It wouldn't be Good. We haven't seen this happen yet He hasn't remembered the Events of CoM with the "Thank Namine" still not Resolved.
I think Riku's Choice of not choosing one or the other is what Sora needs to do for Himself.

MoM and the Foretellers do also have Pure Darknesses sealed inside them. So they might be able to be considered both.
If homie's wardrobe changes over the years is any indication, Sora will absolutely dabble in darkness and learn to embrace it to restore balance.

This kinda reminds me of digimon frontier when koichi realizes that darkness doesmt have to be evil or a thing to be feared, it can be good and that using it for the right reasons can save lives and worlds
I MADE A VIDEO JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS! Sora is definitely going down a Dark Road (heh). Not just in KH3 but throughout the numbered titles you see his darkness growing from a shadow, to anti form, to Rage form, going from the weakest to literally corrupting the Keyblade he hears with him. If that isn’t hinting at his next steps, I don’t know what does! W Video, can’t wait for more yap sessions.
I feel as tho the MoM is Sora, had Sora in (let's just say) a original timeline hadn't recieved the keyblade when he did, causing a different journey one where he could've been apprenticed by Xehanort, and so; MoM is Sora who has decided to use his past self (his own history) to take the challenge of the fight between light and dark to it's ultimate collision.
MoM maybe a adult version of Sora, still sharing the same pure light that makes them both, however he has taken on the role of the dark. This represents the dark and light that both live within Sora, the two different paths offered when commiting to either one.
Kingdom Hearts is Sora's story of the balance of light and dark together.

I have no issue with sad endings or sora going down a dark path but i have no idea why anyone in the comment section would claim a 'sad ending would ruin childhoods'. Our childhoods are in the past, it happened, it can not be 'ruined' in any fashion, only your peception of time can if you let it.

I'm still hoping Sora stays the main protagonist in all the main line games. I'd like to think it's not just me, but there is too much love for Sora at this point. It's just not quite KH without him.

As I thought, a more accurate title to this video would be, "The Road to Balance Between Light and Dark." Far too many keyblade masters such as Eraques have held the Master of Masters' belief that the darkness should never exist, just like the Jedi Order in Star Wars. This flawed dogma in both cases must end, for as Revan said during the Old Republic, "The Force Seeks Balance. Always."

Here's a theory for you... Scala Ad Caelum is not the world of keyblade masters. It's the world of Composers.
As in "The world end with you" Composers. Xahanort and Eraqus are composers of their own reapers game, of which Sora is finally the winner after THREE major games (similar to the usual 3 weeks in twewy games)
therefore Kingdom hearts 4 is Sora finally getting his original wish granted from before the games even started...and returning to ...shibuya?!

In My Opinion there were 2 throwaway scenes.
1. Larxene wondering about Elsa's powers.
And
2. Xemnas & Ansem asking Sora about calling on the darkness.
For me, the latter was more important.
Was truly underwhelmed by how Sora didn't have that rage moment, how he, Riku and Aqua didn't take on that giant demon tide.
There was so much material, the fan base could have built a far better vanilla KH3 than the final product.

I mean techically Sora has always used darkness in his kit of abilities. It was proven canon during the fight against xehanort when all of his light was drained out and he turned into Rage Form. Sora right now thinks Darkness = Evil.. But seeing that Riku and Terra can both use Darkness in their kits without going evil, why not sora?

Food for thought? No because you said what is lurking in the darkness is good made sense at all. If Sora wielding the power of darkness, the darkness will become righteous to protect and save people like the light he possesses. Master of Masters and the Fortellers trying to save the world to destroy the darkness once for all but if the darkness goes, same too for the light. It will lead the kingdom hearts universe fall apart and disappeared that Sora wouldn’t allow it. In kingdom hearts 4, the roles of light and darkness will be reversed that Master of Masters will use the light for a noble cause but his methods are too extreme that even Luxu mortified of it. But I not saying that the Master of Masters is evil but he has past the point of no return that himself couldn’t give up after he gone through like a lone soldier keep fighting even when slowly forgetting why he going for. Sora will be the one can stop him with the righteous power of darkness because he face the hopeless if only using the power of light. After all, Master of Masters is the true embodiment of light and the creator of keyblades that sora will lose the keyblade and becomes powerless when fighting the most powerful and most ancient of all keyblade masters. Sora will obtain the power of darkness to protect himself and his keyblade from Master of Masters and the Fortellers. That’s a good thing for Sora can wield both of light and dark like Riku. For things I have learned that the light and darkness will never symbolizing good and evil begin with because only individual will can decide it. If both light and darkness becomes good, then it will. Also, the same way with one’s evil will. However, Master of Masters will never wield the darkness because he hates and fears it due he continues for wearing that black coat all of the time. That will be his downfall when facing Sora can wield both of them. For right now, we just have wait and see for KH4 come out to get these answers about this.
I hope that you make a video of this because that will be legendary but if you already did, that too is legendary itself. Also, thanks for making this video and keep going for more about Kingdom Hearts as always. 👍

I like your suggestion, especially after having seen a video on how the animators for Nimona turned the light/shadow trope on its head, with darkness being tied to the good side because the darkness offers them cover and safety, and light being tied to the antagonists as a means dispelling the darkness and uncovering what doesn't want to be uncovered.
As a queer person, one of the scariest things is having the proverbial closet door swung wide open on you to people you weren't ready to come out to, having that piercing light invade your little space of relative safety away from the dangers of exposure

I would love so much if you could play ffxiv because I feel like the dawntrail expansion just kind of sat there and was like 'HEARTS, NOBODY, DARKNESS, MEMORY' Basically I feel like in ffxiv the darkness in us is explained to be dynamis, the power of emotion and will of a group of hearts striving towards the same goal. Something unstudied by people strong in ether, believed to be weak. It has a past of a world of fairy tales overseen by angels strong in ether that was shattered into multiple reflections to give rise to a people weak in ether able to use the darkness/dynamis and a weapon to protect the star from, well, nihilism.
I don't think Sora has EVER EVER thought of the darkness as anything other than a liability. Little shadow sora, Rage mode, and Vanitas have never been embraced by Sora the character. There's never any good reason for why Sora finding strength in his friends isn't good enough! Riku knows how to deal with his feelings! Maybe he can teach Sora. (lol lmao sorry that last sentence was my dark history catching up to me again) But really! The Master of Masters could be a shattered angel, afraid of becoming tempered by the darkness. Or a representative from a world that has already fallen to elemental imbalance. Or G'raha, and come from the future after a light cataclysm to save Xehenort?

Understandable. In kh1 at least the disney characters were getting involved.
In kh2 they were just there for the organisation to cause issues.
