    They make it look so easy, but it is nearly impossible to figure out the correct size of the paper for the object you’re wrapping.

      kahunawife1 you are supposed to lay the paper out, put the package on the paper and flip it across on all four sides. That’s how you know the amount of paper. There is another video on here that explains the measuring part out.

      I love efficiency but.. its wrapping paper lol
      seems like an oxymoron to use math so efficiently just to save a couple pieces of tape on an extremely wasteful practice

      I remember the year my Son was born, Christmas was less than 3 weeks later, my Husband and I went shopping for gifts 2 or 3 days before Christmas, everyone got their gifts in a plastic carrier bag!

    I bought some ceramics in Kyoto and the lady wrapped the boxes just like this. When I got home I carefully unwrapped the boxes, took out my ceramics and then re-wrapped the boxes because they were so beautifully wrapped. Bonkers, I know!

    Omg she only used one small piece of tape I'm shooked... If it was me I'd have to use tape on every edges, every cut, every crease... I'm hopeless.

      As I kid, I loved to preserve wrapping gifts without ripping them off. So i guess not all children will ruin it

    I love the Japanese people. They do and make some of the most amazing things. I love how they have such great morals and ethics by which they live their lives by. I know not all may do so. It is one of the very few countries I'd want to move to if I had to leave my own country.

    First off she has mad patience. I am not careful wrapping nothing a child will tear through in seconds. Besides, rectangles and square boxes are easy to wrap.

    Better quality wrapping paper than what is generally available here which is too thin and fragile but what this lady is using seems much stronger and far easier to work with. 😀

    Good skills, efficient, very zen like. Could see myself picking japanese paper wrapping as a pastime and wrapping my everyday things like the box that my phone came in. Also, she has nice fingernails.

      Possibly, but I would argue that pretty paper is more 'valuable' to me and less easy to find than clear tape.

    I have seen a picture of a book wrapped this way in Christmas wrapping that had the words “It’s Snowing!” written all over it ... unfortunately this wrapping method resulted in the letters getting jumbled so that the parcel said “tit’s now” 😹

      The Japanese do not tear into a gift they open the paper as if it were a treasure. Not like most Americans that will tear into a gift without regard as to how it is wrapped and the time when took to wrap it.

    But why? When it looks the same on the outside as when wrapped in a simple, normal way. Plus, all those awkward folds in the wrapping!
