kahunawife1 you are supposed to lay the paper out, put the package on the paper and flip it across on all four sides. That’s how you know the amount of paper. There is another video on here that explains the measuring part out.
I love efficiency but.. its wrapping paper lol seems like an oxymoron to use math so efficiently just to save a couple pieces of tape on an extremely wasteful practice
@@zarahsgarden2097 if it's wasteful, doesn't it factually make sense to use less, leaving less waste in return? Your brainpower is the only spent energy.
I remember the year my Son was born, Christmas was less than 3 weeks later, my Husband and I went shopping for gifts 2 or 3 days before Christmas, everyone got their gifts in a plastic carrier bag!
At least you got it close to Christmas, it’s May... my birthday’s next... and I’m getting a puppy so I can’t even send this to a friend to help them out.
I bought some ceramics in Kyoto and the lady wrapped the boxes just like this. When I got home I carefully unwrapped the boxes, took out my ceramics and then re-wrapped the boxes because they were so beautifully wrapped. Bonkers, I know!
Omg she only used one small piece of tape I'm shooked... If it was me I'd have to use tape on every edges, every cut, every crease... I'm hopeless. This video is 4 years late..
The video "Japan packaging" brought me to "Speed wrapping at a Japanese department store", which brought me to "Gift-wrapping Japanese way", which brought me to this.
HEART: "Oh my god, I totally want to wrap my presents up like that!" BRAIN AND HANDS: "Ha ha yeah, dream on, love - NEVER gonna happen as long as you've got us, is it?"
Shaun Donnelly thats why you reserve it for the grandmas who spend 10 mins carefully opening it to save the wrapping paper and comment on the beautiful wrap. Lol

I love the Japanese people. They do and make some of the most amazing things. I love how they have such great morals and ethics by which they live their lives by. I know not all may do so. It is one of the very few countries I'd want to move to if I had to leave my own country.
First off she has mad patience. I am not careful wrapping nothing a child will tear through in seconds. Besides, rectangles and square boxes are easy to wrap.
Better quality wrapping paper than what is generally available here which is too thin and fragile but what this lady is using seems much stronger and far easier to work with. 😀
Good skills, efficient, very zen like. Could see myself picking japanese paper wrapping as a pastime and wrapping my everyday things like the box that my phone came in. Also, she has nice fingernails.
I have seen a picture of a book wrapped this way in Christmas wrapping that had the words “It’s Snowing!” written all over it ... unfortunately this wrapping method resulted in the letters getting jumbled so that the parcel said “tit’s now” 😹
The Japanese do not tear into a gift they open the paper as if it were a treasure. Not like most Americans that will tear into a gift without regard as to how it is wrapped and the time when took to wrap it.
They make it look so easy, but it is nearly impossible to figure out the correct size of the paper for the object you’re wrapping.
This video shows you how to wrap a present the Japanese way and how to measure the wrapping paper ruclips.net/video/vEWXHq7y7WU/видео.html

Or get her to give you one
Now it is time!
You're so sweet! May God bless you! :)
RUclips algorithm: 4 years later? Yes...now, it's time.
Ja ja ja. Then don't watch it....
We get it. After millions of comments. We understand that it's recommended late. No need to type it in every late recommended video ever.
Me too .... Now I write a comment. Have fun with your new old recommendations 😋
Watched a Nascar video. Then a hunting video. This gets recommended to watch next.
At least you got it close to Christmas, it’s May... my birthday’s next... and I’m getting a puppy so I can’t even send this to a friend to help them out.
Her smile at the end was so cute ❤❤

The ASMR tingles I’m getting from this are crazy!
Japan folk, you are awesome!!! Everything to perfection... much love to you from the 🇺🇸
You missed lining up the fold in the top right corner by exactly 1.2 millimeters. FIRED!
😁😁😁😁
i swear the person who invent this wrapping way used every mathematical calculation to make it this perfect. i see phytagoras formula in this lol
Japanese people always do things to perfection... I have admired their aim for perfection all my life...
when I wrap the gift ...tape weight gets more than the gift 😄
😊
Bruh
The trick is papertape so you save the package paper
😀👍
I love your honesty!

@MOTH means Caramel Macchiato wasted alot of tapes in 4yrs + 7months.
The smile at the end made it even neater 😊
I liked how she smiled.
I don’t think my fingers are capable of such perfection.
That is crazy cool! Love how crisp the lines are! 😍😍
Me before watching: “I’m pretty good at wrapping gifts.”
Me after watching: “I can’t do anything.” 🎁🔨

Beautiful! She only used one piece of tape - one! That's incredible 💜
My gift wrapping is a mess. I love this simple but elegant look. Getting anxious just thinking about trying this.
even the damn bow has a beautiful simplicity to it

Gosh, so efficient. Simple and elegant. This is so Japanese. I love it.
Of course the Japanese would be the ones to perfect gift wrapping. It looks very nice.
my friend: "what are you watching? seems interesting?"
me: "Yeah i'm watching Japanese people wrapping things and its been an hour now"
Every thing is different the Japanese way
Every fucking time!!
And this level of wrapping (however pretty it may be) matters not one bit to a child on Christmas day...
Shaun Donnelly thats why you reserve it for the grandmas who spend 10 mins carefully opening it to save the wrapping paper and comment on the beautiful wrap. Lol
Haha true but at least they saved on sellotape
As I kid, I loved to preserve wrapping gifts without ripping them off. So i guess not all children will ruin it
@@moodymoods9261 Me too! We saved everything then and reused it or made other things from it. :)
Your right there, a thin easy to remove Christmas Paper is all that’s needed for a child,
This is so relaxing and satisfying like it gives me tingles😂
Difficulty level: asian
Edit: just remembered that I'm asian, this is nowhere near my skillset
Lol 😁 I'm European an probably light years away from wrapping my gifts like that 🙈
I'm Asian, i can't barely hold a wrapping paper without tearing it.
Nah, your a Ganges Asian. Not Asia Pacific.
When someone spends time on their appreciation , it's worth it, ❤🇬🇧

My brain: Do it, it's simple
My hand: ......

Agreed, this was more like origami paper
She used one piece of sticking tape and here I am putting tape everywhere
Excellent job...... you make it look so easy!!!!!

So basically kids, now you see how geometry helps you in the future...

Genius. All my pens, stationary and cars are from Japan. Meticulous detail.
Saves time, paper and cello-tape. The end product has a perfect finish.
English gift wrapping: I'm hard to wrap
Japanese gift wrapping: *Hold my Wrapping paper*
Me enseñaste algo nuevo, a mis años voy a practicar está nueva forma de envolver regalos gracias por compartir.
Alright, but I use less paper.
I could wrap that thing PLUS two extra small ones. And it'd look about as neat.
Widdekuu91 then possibly you'll use more tapes
@@whatdaheckish
Possibly, but I would argue that pretty paper is more 'valuable' to me and less easy to find than clear tape.
This is so amazing. The way you wrapping a gift is very interesting, The style is unique.
For the japaneses is simple they do origami
It seems japanese are really good with anything paper!
Wow!!! One piece of tape!!!!!!
After watching this multiple times I can now confidently say I'm ready for Christmas
Here I am, the day after Christmas
Very special race of folk the Japanese. I’m can’t wait to travel the whole place.

But why? When it looks the same on the outside as when wrapped in a simple, normal way. Plus, all those awkward folds in the wrapping!
