I remember buying Chaos A.D. and driving around in my car and listening to it for the first time. I miss that feeling of discovering new music that way. Now everything is at our fingertips, which is convenient and also awesome. But there was something special about discovering an album based off the band name and the album cover alone, rolling the dice with your $16, and hitting the jackpot. I can think of multiple occasions in my life where this happened and all of the music from those albums is still with me today. Can’t say the same about anything after like…. 2008. Yep. I’m old. Good times.
@@RobArnoldWorldDang this just reminded me of another story… When I was 16/17 I saw the video for Sp Lit on MTV late night headbangers ball or something. Loved it. Then that summer when I was on vacation in Florida, I always loved going to the record stores there, I decided to go try and find Pass Out Of Existence which at the time I didn’t even know the title of, nor did I know what the album cover looked like. Just flying blind. Well, when I was in the record store scanning alphabetically past A, B, straight to the “C” section, I saw this all white Chimaira record with a red logo painted in blood on the cover. I read the track list on the back, but no Sp Lit. I was like dang, decided to buy it anyway and give ‘er a whirl. TIOR had just dropped and I stumbled upon it. It blew me away and that record transformed the entire vacation and I remember this dude in the car next to me asking me what band we were listening to because I was blasting it at the stop light with my windows down. I screamed “CHIMAIRA!” That record was and still is a monster and had such a profound impact on that trip, my life, and my guitar playing. Way more impactful for me personally, than Chaos A.D. That is not a diss. That is just me being honest. Dang. We just ripped right down memory lane. I can still hear the stereo blaring “Crawl” and “Pure Hatred”.
I'm a huge Sepultura fan, Andreas is a monster, a certified riff master, with really cool solos ranging from straight to the point face melting shred to dissonant whammy bar induced mayhem. Andreas did a lot to shape the world of metal and rarely gets his due. I'm glad he's finally getting the recognition he deserves as one of the guys that really shaped modern metal.
Man I’m from your era too. I used to only like Max era.. as I’ve gotten older I’ve grown to prefer the post Max Sepultura by far. Also don’t sleep on Quatra what a record!! Holy Cow
Rob, your playing is always so freaking tight and tasteful. Always a joy to watch you shred! These last couple of Jackson guitar videos have been sick.
I remember being a freshman in high school and hearing Sepultura for the first time when chaos a.d came out and it blew my mind as well as my dads stereo speakers (he eventually got over it)! I remember thinking that nobody could bring it like the American metal/thrash/death metal bands then I heard these metal monsters from Brazil and it fuckin floored me man! That band ended up being one of my favorite most influential bands of all time even now in my mid 40's it still sounds timeless and still gets me moving. Thanks for the flashback dude! And as usual, super tasty riffage at the intro man! P.S. i felt the same way when I first heard pass out of existence and all the albums that followed. Peace
I agree with the frets. No big deal guys. Especially when most of your viewers grew up on nickel frets. I also bought this guitar as soon as it was available. It is a beast!!!! It was perfect when I received it. No flaws!!!! Love the rolled fiingeerboard and fret ends. Great guitar!!!!!!!! Wish it came with a reverse headstock thou but my personal preference. Well done Rob!!! Keep it coming.........
Sepultura one of the true pioneers of thrash for sure! I remember when Andreas filled in for Scott Ian for a few Anthrax shows. Love the single EMG and the one volume knob. That's right up your alley! Nice neck binding and I also prefer the screw on bar over the push in type. Thanks Rob! You just inspired me to throw down some tracks from Arise. Heavy Metal Over Everything!!!
@Ausemere That's true. They were really inspired on Mediator. I found Messiah to be a bit boring, but they've since found their groove again on Quadra.
I clean my frets every 6mo, but not on my 2 guitars with SS frets. I’m fine either way. I like taking the time to take care of my guitars and try to stagger when i have to clean the frets.
I bought this guitar and have to say that this guitar is Metal to the Core!!! I made some upgrades to it: gotoh tuners, schaller locking tremolo and EMG 81 brushed chrome. This guitar has better specs than even some of the current USA made! It calls me the attention about the finish of the ebony fretboard. It is totally sealed and is amazing! It looks like a violin fretboard. The tone is very singular, the lows are tight, mids are strong and the highs are present but not harsh. It is an easy guitar to record with. The neck is in between an ESP and Ibanez. It is thin, relative flat but still curves. Somehow U shaped. I love it!
Reminds me of the RA600 style of setup and parts, so i knew youd like it........the tapping solo part and groove of that starting song was awesome and felt like 03-07 Chimaira big time
Hey Rob! The reason for stainless steel is that in my case, I wear through nickel frets fairly quickly, especially on the g string. Also they are way smoother when doing bends. It costs more to do though because they are hell on files when leveling and crowning because they are so much harder.
Yes on the walk through set up with 11 through 52 please. That's what I use and with a Floyd there is a lot of adjustments needed to go from a set of 9s. Thanks dude. Love your vids and playing
Great to see you're enjoying what Jackson has brought lately. I remember when I was young and I went to a guitar shop and asked: "So... Do you have Rob Arnold's ESP signature, perhaps?" (They didn't) So I tried a 2005 dinky instead. My fav guitar since then (and I've had a few).
I feel you on the stainless steel frets, Rob. Maybe I just dont fret as hard...idk. I've got 20 year old guitars that I've played the living snot out of...with nickle frets...with very slight wear. Maybe some players just wear frets faster though. Awesome axe!!!
Awesome demo brother thank you!! It's funny but I agree with you, my friend and I were just having this conversation, we always talk about the big 4 or 5 but Sepultura always gets missed. That being said they were a massive influence on me and I feel like I should speak of them more
Dude sick Intro song, Honeslty one of the better ones I've heard here on the tube. The drop chug and the harmonic riffs and taps were dope.. great video 🤘
I've said it beforehand but I will say it again. This guitar is phenomenal and you make it sound like a million bucks. IMHO I think this guitar is perfect for many of your songs not only in Chimaira but your solo work as well.
I’m glad to see you giving Jackson some love and let alone attention! Too many ESP/LTD die-hards. And I get it, they make great quality guitars. I just physically can’t play them. The U neck shape doesn’t agree with my hand shape
Sick guitar and great stuff Rob! The intro was sick too! I'm with you on the fret debacle... Nickel is fine and will last a long time with minimal maintenance. People have to realize if they're chewing up frets they're playing way too hard!
That is a dope looking guitar. I like how you've started to write and perform music at the beginning of your unboxing videos. It's like Rhett Shull and Ola Elglund. They do it all the time, and it keeps your writing chops active. Awesome song, man.
Sweet rifff!!!!!! You guitar collection is growing fast, have you ever considered trying schecter, the Schecter Banshee GT-FR in paticular, or the Jake Pitts E-1 FR S?
you wont love stainless frets if you get a guitar that needs level work and you dont have tools that work ...nickel is soft to work with .probably most those guys saying that pretend they know something important.
That intro music... so good. I'm an Ohio guy myself, I've got to say I agree with you on everything from Sepultura all the way through to the frets. I've got 4 new Jacksons in the last 2 months. I can't stop playing them, they are fantastic. Great video. I need to decide which Jackson to play and I'm off to thrash the self titled Chimaira.✌️🤘👍
@@RobArnoldWorld I'm about your age so we have alot in common I'm sure. I've followed Chimaira since way back. During that time I had built a pro rig. It was a Marshall head, a Mesa mark v and two JCM 800 B Cabs. I used a Furman stereo pedal board with your basic pedals, a Zakk Wylde wah, a Whammy 1, Boss ns2, tu2 chromatic tuner, Chorus, Flanger, and a dd7 delay. I also ran a boss 31 band eq in the loop of the Marshall. I owned 8 guitars. B. C. Rich, Ibanez, ESP, Epiphone and fender. All of it was lost in a fire. I am almost done rebuilding. I've managed to get the same board, almost all the same pedals except the Whammy which now is a 5. Marshall is on backorder, but I should have 2 B cabs coming in March and I'm still in the process of choosing which heads I want, but for now I'm using an EVH 100 Watt OG 6L6 with a matching 2 twelve cab. That head and cab are ultimately going to be my practice rig. As for guitars, so far I have gotten a B. C. RICH Junior V extreme exotic w spalted maple top and Fishman fluence moderns, a Kirk Hammett 602 w EMG bone breakers, a Yamaha Rodrigo classical, a Ibanez 5 string soungear bass, the first Matthew Heafy Epiphone black Les Paul custom w EMG 81/85, a Gibson 60s Standard Les Paul, a Ibanez RG, and for the Jacksons I bought a cheaper JS32 Jackson 8 string dinky which I got on a whim (I wasn't sure about an 8 , that's why I went with the entry level) next I got a Battleship grey w black bevels Jackson RRX24 w reverse headstock and Seymour Duncan Blackouts,a Jackson pro Green Glow dinky w Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck, and last but not least a seven string Jackson Mark Heylmun/Suicide Silence RR24-7 w his signature Fishman fluence set. That is where I'm sitting currently in a nightmare of a situation. I guess it could be worse huh? Anyway, I've dedicated my entire life to our music. It does and has always meant the world to me... And it all started in 1987 when I heard The thing that should not be. That moment changed the course of my life forever and I haven't looked back. So, as far as my gear goes I'm getting there. I hope this wasn't too long. I really appreciate you responding, it's amazing to be chatting with you Rob. It truly is an honor. Just out of curiosity, do you have any recommendations for amp heads? I'm going to be able to get two more 100 watt tube heads and since I can choose from just about any that I would like, it is making my decision more of a challenge w so many to choose from.
Wow! What an arsenal! And twice over! (sucks to hear about your fire man. That's a shame for sure). But yeah man, your studio, or man cave, sounds like a dream! A candy store for guitarists!🎸 And cheers for your long time love for Chimaira's music!👊 There's only one head that I TRULY love, and you know that's the Peavey 6505+. If I could only play thru one head for the rest of my life, that would be it without question. But, it's also the only head I truly know. It's served me well for years, and it's responsible for the tones I love, and the tones so many others out there love. That being said, I may not be the right guy to ask when it comes to buying heads, because I only have one recommendation! haha Anyway, please let us know what you end up going with whenever the time comes!🤘 @@grindcoreblues7517
@@RobArnoldWorld I absolutely will stay in contact and I actually do appreciate the recommendation. I have been around others using the 6505+ but I haven't ever been able to try one out myself. I will now though for sure. I used to own your DVD... The dehumanizing process, which I loved. It was lost as well and I was aware and paying attention to what you were using. They do sound amazing. I would hope they are easy to dial, in comparison to say a Mesa. I prefer an amp that I can easily dial simply because I want to play guitar more than fiddle w knobs . Anyways, thanks again and I definitely will check them out and that being said I've got to go see if i can find that DVD . I absolutely loved that DVD. It was so well put together (IMHO) and was a fascinating time and story concerning the bands history. It's been so long and I want to see it again. Thanks Rob. 🤘
Cool! If you can't find the DVD, it is available here on RUclips! And I hear you about dialing in an amp. I like to just plug in and play too! But here are my settings if you decide to go the 6505 route! www.robarnoldworld.com/robsamp@@grindcoreblues7517
I really wish you would have esp endorse you again with the ltd ra-600s I would buy one anyday I played one in guitar center and the sustain was massive the whole guitar would vibrate and the tone was so heavy the actual artist to turn me onto esp was you and Wayne Static ive played many brands but esp is the best keep up the amazing rob thank you for what you do
Finally someone speaks common sense about the whole SS fret thing! They are something relatively new and everyone's favourite guitarist played with nickel frets for most of their career! If you have multiple guitars, it'd take years before your frets need any work... Does everyone just have one guitar they play for 12 hrs a day? I have guitars with both, sound wise there's no difference whatsoever. They feel slightly different, but nothing earth shaking. SS frets are just the new thing guitar snobs 'need', just another thing to cork sniff about.
Cost is a huge factor on stainless vs. nickel. After 20+ years of playing I won't buy another guitar without stainless. I made the mistake of getting a PRS that wasn't cheap, had nickel frets and after 1 year of gigging and practicing the frets are shot. Cost savings and if you're not gigging alot, sure nickel is just fine.
I'm not been sure if it sounds more massive than a regular soloist or if the spirit of Andreas is so present in the guitar that it's more metal by default
On the 1000 vs 1500 thing - used ‘em both, and the 1500 is so far proving far more stable & sturdy than the 1000, which feels like more than just the bridge is involved, yeah But also a bunch of screws on my 1000 stripped. Wouldn’t happen with a 1500
Well, now we know which axe you’ll use for your upcoming favorite Sepultura riffs video, which will be after Megadeth and Slayer, right? Btw, Arise is the album I love over the rest of their catalog. That entire album is bangin’! They were on fire and Igor’s drumming is phenomenal on it!
Personally i think stainless frets are something of a gimmick. It takes decades of use to wear down nickel frets and if you have more than one guitar you'll probably never need to worry about it. Ive got a 19 year old ESP Viper and ive played the crap out of it. Frets are still spot on. Ps. Loving seeing my old MFA 600 in the background of these vids. Lol. 🤘

Dude sick Intro song, Honeslty one of the better ones I've heard here on the tube. The drop chug and the harmonic riffs and taps were dope.. great video 🤘
Thanks a lot man! I appreciate that!👊
holy fuck that song was great
That guitar is a beauty
Amazing guitar. Really nice body art work and sounds just great. Yes please do your setup video and brush up your Sep riffs.
Haha thanks and will do!
I've said it beforehand but I will say it again. This guitar is phenomenal and you make it sound like a million bucks. IMHO I think this guitar is perfect for many of your songs not only in Chimaira but your solo work as well.
👊
Jackson signature for 2024
💪
Roberto with the tippie-tappies 😮
This guitar was perfect, Andreas Kisser is a monster, Sepultura from 🇧🇷 1234.
I’m glad to see you giving Jackson some love and let alone attention! Too many ESP/LTD die-hards. And I get it, they make great quality guitars. I just physically can’t play them. The U neck shape doesn’t agree with my hand shape
Interesting! If ESP/LTD have U shaped necks, what would you then say Jacksons have?
Please do a sepultura play through cover!! Inner self
WHAT AN INTRO!!!
🤘😝🎸
Among the esp m-ii my other favourite guitar is a soloist you can’t go wrong.
Sick guitar and great stuff Rob! The intro was sick too! I'm with you on the fret debacle... Nickel is fine and will last a long time with minimal maintenance. People have to realize if they're chewing up frets they're playing way too hard!
Thanks man!
Fukn killer as always Rob 🤘
👊🤘
I'm ready for a album of this.
That is a dope looking guitar. I like how you've started to write and perform music at the beginning of your unboxing videos. It's like Rhett Shull and Ola Elglund. They do it all the time, and it keeps your writing chops active. Awesome song, man.
Thanks dude!🤘
Dude that intro song is freaking awesome!!! 🤘🏻 And yeah that would be cool to see a setup video of this guitar
Thanks dude!🤘
Full setup video on this one please Robbo.
On the way!
Great playing brother that was killer. Dig the guitar too.
Thanks bro! 🤘
I don't what to think.😂. the guitar looks and sounds killer already and your playing. Straight sick..🔥🤟🤯
👊
🎸🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘
Nice
Sweet rifff!!!!!! You guitar collection is growing fast, have you ever considered trying schecter, the Schecter Banshee GT-FR in paticular, or the Jake Pitts E-1 FR S?
Not yet!
Sick Rob 🤟👌
you wont love stainless frets if you get a guitar that needs level work and you dont have tools that work ...nickel is soft to work with .probably most those guys saying that pretend they know something important.
Rip & tear with no despair!!!
🤘
yes plz do setup vid
Amazing intro !!
Thanks Boku!
Boahhhhhhh..what a beauty !!!!
Right on man!🤘 Which Jacksons did you recently acquire?
A candy store for guitarists!🎸
And cheers for your long time love for Chimaira's music!👊
There's only one head that I TRULY love, and you know that's the Peavey 6505+. If I could only play thru one head for the rest of my life, that would be it without question. But, it's also the only head I truly know. It's served me well for years, and it's responsible for the tones I love, and the tones so many others out there love.
That being said, I may not be the right guy to ask when it comes to buying heads, because I only have one recommendation! haha
Anyway, please let us know what you end up going with whenever the time comes!🤘

I really wish you would have esp endorse you again with the ltd ra-600s I would buy one anyday I played one in guitar center and the sustain was massive the whole guitar would vibrate and the tone was so heavy the actual artist to turn me onto esp was you and Wayne Static ive played many brands but esp is the best keep up the amazing rob thank you for what you do
🤘
Nyatoh is basically almost a type of mahogany but it grows in Southeast Asia. Typically it’s not a hardwood we use in the US
Brutal intro man!!!! 🤟💀🤘
🙏🤘
Finally someone speaks common sense about the whole SS fret thing! They are something relatively new and everyone's favourite guitarist played with nickel frets for most of their career! If you have multiple guitars, it'd take years before your frets need any work... Does everyone just have one guitar they play for 12 hrs a day? I have guitars with both, sound wise there's no difference whatsoever. They feel slightly different, but nothing earth shaking.
SS frets are just the new thing guitar snobs 'need', just another thing to cork sniff about.
Awesome
Cost is a huge factor on stainless vs. nickel. After 20+ years of playing I won't buy another guitar without stainless. I made the mistake of getting a PRS that wasn't cheap, had nickel frets and after 1 year of gigging and practicing the frets are shot. Cost savings and if you're not gigging alot, sure nickel is just fine.
Very nice!
I'm not been sure if it sounds more massive than a regular soloist or if the spirit of Andreas is so present in the guitar that it's more metal by default
I'd say the latter! 🤘
@@RobArnoldWorld agreed, I covered my rr3 in stickers so it would look like his. Neck pickup removed ofc
🔥🔥🔥
🤘🏻💀so sick brother 👊🏻
👊🤘
Been a long time, I can tell when you started you were fkin excited.
🤘😏
1 pickup gang checking in 🤘🏿
👊
That thing is bada$$. Love it.
Nyatoh is wood from Malaysia.. It is similar Like a mahogany wood
On the 1000 vs 1500 thing - used ‘em both, and the 1500 is so far proving far more stable & sturdy than the 1000, which feels like more than just the bridge is involved, yeah
But also a bunch of screws on my 1000 stripped. Wouldn’t happen with a 1500
Hey Rob! Leave some riffs for the rest of us😂
Hahaha 👊🤣
Another jackson buddy! ;)
🤘😝
love the neck on it
Hear me out. How about a Jackson Pro Series version of the RA-600?
👂
Well, now we know which axe you’ll use for your upcoming favorite Sepultura riffs video, which will be after Megadeth and Slayer, right? Btw, Arise is the album I love over the rest of their catalog. That entire album is bangin’! They were on fire and Igor’s drumming is phenomenal on it!
🤘😏
ROOTS BLOODY ROOOOOOTS!!! 🙃.
Lol. 🤘
Haha right on Joe! I love seeing it there too!
That Soloist is awesome! Too bad he didn't get a Rhoads
I hate the Chrome Tremelo next to the black EMG :( still buying one lol.
Sounds so clear up top. Is that your setup or the pickup?
Probably a combination of everything! If you're interested, here's the amp sim I use and love! ruclips.net/video/Rdq3pkkqwZI/видео.html
I’ve had a few Jackson’s
I can’t get passed the inlays
Interesting!
