I remember renting this game when I was in the 5th grade. This song would be stuck in my head during recess. lol I'm now in my 3rd year of college. Man, it's real sad how time flies by so fast. ='( Thanks for the nostalgia.
This song is literally fused to my brain I wasn't born by the time the N64 came around, but I've definitely played this before when I was little. An adult friend of one of my relatives had an N64, and he showed me Rush 2049. And then, my dad showed me this. Best racing game on N64 I've ever played.
This game was so epic. Remember the level where it was just stunts? With all the mountain dew cans everywhere, and how you could explore the levels if you got bored? :P
I miss going so fast off a jump you just careen half across the map and into the wall at the edge, especially after unlocking the secret Mt Dew dragster.
I remember first watching this back in early 99 when I got it for Christmas, and that first little race where the Integra explodes just blew my mind. Man, I sure do miss those days when games had that effect on me.
This brought tears to my eyes. Dem memories. I still have my N64 and all my old games and the console still works fine even though it's over 10 years old.
Im in tears! I LOOOOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!! THE MUSICIS SOOOOOO RECOGNIZABLE AND I LISTENED TO TIS MUSIC FOR 2 HOURS STRAIGHT BEFORE EVEN PLYING THE GAME!!!!! GIANT RATS FTW!!!!!!! great idea lordthanator!
I remembered playing that racing game when I was in Preschool. In fact, the thing is that it's just awesome. You know what they say, Midway Games, rest in piece, or RIP.😁
@beanisawsome1 Second hidden can: Break through the fence post and get in the crop field. On the second batch of corn, get on the left and search. About half way in the middle you will see a Mointain Dew can. Get it and it will make a sound. When you exit from the crop field you will see Aloha Stadium. There is another Mountain Dew there.
I remember renting this game from blockbuster and played it everytime I came home from school it really makes me feel happy i had memories with this game when I was a kid during the 90s
LOL SAME. WHEN I GOT THE GAME FROM MY FRIEND I LISTENED TO THE OPENING MUSIC FOR HOURS ON END BEFORE PLAYING! :D These N64 games bring back ALOT of memories of me and my brother when we were younger. I used to watch him play these games like Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask and a bunch of others like this one! God dam i wish i could go back sometimes...
@MrTotallyRad yeah definitely one of the best racing games ever! thats exactly what i thought, its really epic. As you said the stunt level was absolutely amazing. The exploration and alternate pathways and music and everything.
are you kidding me bro, my friend Barry Leitch did all the tracks for Rush 2 and most formidably Rush2049, the mother of all old school racing games. These tracks are legend.
yes it was the third game in the series for the N64 and dreamcast. it was really good. it had a stunt mode, battle mode, and an obsticle course. pick it up if you ever see it.
@beanisawsome1 Did you know you can get one extra Mountain Dew with a glitch on one of the maps? ;) Devlopers removed it outside the map, little did they know there were freaks like me, manage to get outside ;)
yeah it's unlocked i think after you complete the circuit mode. there's also Pipe. I forget how you unlock that but I didn't find out about it until i read about it in 2000 or so. I had assumed that I had unlocked everything (beat the circuit and collected all the keys and mountain dew cans) but I guess I hadn't
do you know if the track exist in the german version?or ist it a cheat?i thought i know all about the game but i can still learn.I'm sorry for my bad English ;)
@ColonelAngus75 That didn't happen for me. I unlocked the Pipe course by simply taking 1st in all seven original courses. IOW, leave out Crash and Half Pipe (also Midway after the Circuit Mode is completed in the Top 3).
I have a Mandela effect, from the intro track, where I remember to see the state in that track but it doesn't really exist in the game files, that is, it is not playable, but I remember vtesa
Me and a pal, managed to make 4 supercustomized cars one session, I dont know how we did it. We didn't use cheats, we just customized them in way you wouldnt expect them to be at their best performance, but instead they gor super speed. Has any else experienced this? We where playing Stunt 2477...
This game will succeed if it ever got a remake with new cars, new maps, 4 player split screen, online play & maybe adding more AI cars in the races instead of the typical amount which I forgot how much is.
i dont remember the last track showed in this video. its like all the cars are mini and theyre racing through the midway offices. kinda like de_rats in cs 1.6
@MrTotallyRad atully yes and if you got bored of doing that then find keys for new cars and cans for new tracks and if you do that touneyment thingy then you get the midway track im only 12 and i think the N64 is way better then the xbox or all this new crap i just wish that nintendo would understand this!
God damn it, I loved this game. I was 6 or so and I played this every day, but, when i see this now, it just seems sort of iffy to me. Still love this game, just that this intro seems so iffy now.
Rush 2 was, really, when I was young, the only reason why I came home from school smiling.
Yes
I remember renting this game when I was in the 5th grade. This song would be stuck in my head during recess. lol

Thanks for the nostalgia.
Its been 7 years since your comment, now hows life treating ya?
Dude! I must have rented this like 3 times back when there was Rogers video. Not sure why I didn't just buy it lol. I think I was just too young
10 years now.
I grew up on the first one on my Dad’s n64 he got in college. Now I’m in my first year of college. Hope life’s treating you well buddy.

Midway always created Masterpieces... But these one...Marked my Childhood like Magic! I wish I could revive those amazing days
Me too dude.. me too

I miss going so fast off a jump you just careen half across the map and into the wall at the edge, especially after unlocking the secret Mt Dew dragster.
Love this game! Me and my cousin played this game everyday for hours and hours we both played on racing wheels, we had an absolute blast!
Hell yeah brother
I remember first watching this back in early 99 when I got it for Christmas, and that first little race where the Integra explodes just blew my mind. Man, I sure do miss those days when games had that effect on me.

I still play my Dad’s n64 and he got it in college. Now I’m in college…
Funky music, I use to always watch the start up screen before having a game. I love how the crash at the end there hehe
I used to ride a GSXR 600 around Dallas to this song.
It was nostalgia and fun perfectly bundled into a memory I'll never forget. :D
Made this my ringtone a few weeks ago, haven't answered a phone call since
This is still fucking awesome in 2021 bud.
I remember hearing this at the hotel that we stayed at every spring break and hearing this such a classic tune
This game has made a child hood what in needs to be lol.
Glad to see im not the only person obsessed with this song
I remembered playing that racing game when I was in Preschool. In fact, the thing is that it's just awesome. You know what they say, Midway Games, rest in piece, or RIP.😁
I wanna see someone recreate the intro scene and the race demos
Has anyone ever wanted to drive on the track in the intro, where the two cars are trying to fit in the “R” of “Rush”
Masilator would of been cool if you could.
I thought that every time played it lol
Yup there was a cheat to unlock a secret track and was sad to find out it wasn’t that one:/
Well it may pick up traction if fans didn't lose interest dude i recreated exotic in Nfs Unbound
Best racing game of all time!
@beanisawsome1

Buenos y viejos tiempos hermano
Loving the intro where the cars crash.
@MrTotallyRad yeah definitely one of the best racing games ever! thats exactly what i thought, its really epic. As you said the stunt level was absolutely amazing. The exploration and alternate pathways and music and everything.
ZeppelinWolf87 There's also the Rocket car, but you have to place 1st in Circuit mode.
Dang that would be awesome!
Wow this video really takes me back to when I was a kid
Everything I needed to know about driving I learned from this game! lol Amazing Memories!!!.....in fact I think I'll play it right now! =)
Awesome!!
Thank you for uploading this!
are you kidding me bro, my friend Barry Leitch did all the tracks for Rush 2 and most formidably Rush2049, the mother of all old school racing games. These tracks are legend.
bro your friend is fucking goated, this shit is a banger
i remember playing this game when i was a kid. Never got bored! RUSH 2 > Other racing games.
I admire you. My N64 is somewhere and I have no clue where my games are.
LOL! I used Pj64 to emulate rush, and I have the ENTIRE sound track... 8 years later and I still liston to it on my Mp3!
is there anywhere i can download just the song.. i wanna put this on my ipod :P
yes it was the third game in the series for the N64 and dreamcast. it was really good. it had a stunt mode, battle mode, and an obsticle course. pick it up if you ever see it.
Third? So what was the first?
@@Davidovar34 Rush 2049 was the 3rd game in the Rush series.. The first game was "San Francisco Rush", and Rush 2 "Extreme Racing USA" was the second.
@@hoth2112 Oh right, I knew that. Was just wondering where that came from since I didn't see any context🤔
@@Davidovar34 it must have been from a deleted comment or formatting changes over the years, esp considering my original comment was posted in 2009..
90's Midway games were something else. I only hated how they teased the Ford GT90 in the intro...took me forever as a kid to unlock that thing
firein this up now.
I never got ANY of the Mountain Dew cans on Alcatraz. They were so high up in the air...
I still love this game and bought it on ebay a few minutes ago.
HAHAHAHA The first song I ever got CRUNK to!! Hahaha
@beanisawsome1

favorite racing game of all time.
any way you could let us download this version as an audio MP3 or an iPod video?
When I was younger, I used to love watching cars race on the extended clips, & then start racing.
@ColonelAngus75 That didn't happen for me. I unlocked the Pipe course by simply taking 1st in all seven original courses. IOW, leave out Crash and Half Pipe (also Midway after the Circuit Mode is completed in the Top 3).
please man if you can get this extended version as an MP3 for download. I will listen to it 24/7! :D
@knuddelwuschel Hold C-Down And Push A. C-Down is The Yellow arrows on the controller
Best song ever!!!!!!! i have it as a ringtone

La única razón por la cual era feliz en mis tardes en casa
My childhood 🥲

Best song on N64 right here
@knuddelwuschel Press Down C and A at the same time, yes its weird
The Stunt track will never be played in a 30-second demo version.
Wow 6 years worth of comments nice!

An honest bop
Wait a minute, is that yellow car in the beginning even in the game? I don't think it is.

What is the name of this song?
I am still disappointed nobody ever recreates anything from this game
