G’day Richard, this may be abit of a read but i have never commented on youtube before. I had to say that for the past 6 years I have been a passionate hobbiest landscape photographer who loves the bush and capturing the diversity of Australias landscapes. Before photography i grew up drawing alot, something which i had discovered again early this year with COVID isolation. My grandmother was actually a professional landscape painter from my hometown of Dubbo but recently passed down to me all her easels, paints, reference books etc including an old jullian easel. Your channel is something i can absolutely resonate with and has given me so much inspiration to start learning to paint landscapes with oil. You are a great artist mate and a bloody top bloke. All the best!

love the composition Richard...very nice. That last bit of highlight you put in really made it all sing. The cad yellow deep and white. I loved it before..but that last touch was fantastic. You are an amazing painter...simply amazing. Your work is such an inspiration to me. Thank you for doing these videos.
Hi Richard, I have very much enjoyed your last uploads, I've been binge watching! For those of us shut-in, we are living vicariously through your plein air paintings. AND, I just received my first commission of a landscape, 16"x20", so I have some painting of my own to complete.

Ah... Those reflections just glisten! No wonder you return to that spot... Can always find an interesting composition, and the water has such beautiful colours in it. I found it amusing that it sounded like someone was wandering around in the background whistling an odd, rambling melody.... I know it was a bird, but it sounded so human-like lol! Thanks!
Another great painting but I must say that canvas moving around would have driven me nuts, I take my hat off to you for putting up with it. I could not help but think you were up Chowilla Creek. looks just like it. cheers mate thanks for another great video. cheers Owen.
what a life. im gonna hit the road you've inspired me to take the 4 wheel along the north end of big island coast due to no sand banks and no excess but by 4 wheel and no-one being there maui across the channel this video of your morning piece has got me going. good time too great stuff Richard did it again except for the bugs looks like heaven sounds like it too. c ya
Richard, you and your beautiful work, have lifted me out of a dark place. I came down with a critical blood infection during May/June lockdown which affected my entire spine and shoulders and required surgery .... I am lucky to be alive. Finding your videos has been very healing and inspiring .. my heartfelt thanks to you for sharing your magical world. Blessings.
I like to use my knife , but I like my brush too. Those flies are a real challenge, the paintings a breeze tho. You might try a cowboy bandanna. But here in the swampy Louisiana they sell mosquito nets that slip over your hat.
Fantastic tranquil atmosphere capture here Richard. You always manage to keep your colours so crisp, even your mixed colours. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent again. Btw, how do you cope with the flies? Don't they sometimes get incorporated in the paintings? 😂😂
It's a pleasure to see you draw, the process of drawing is very ornamental, and the results of the work are great, it is really a good video. And you are also a good way to avoid the epidemic. I was thinking that the epidemic in the city is very serious now. Should I go out and paint watercolors?
Hello Richard, fantastic as usual! I love how sunny your paintings look and your amazing agility with the knife (and colour). I am curious to know if that was Cobalt Blue or Ultramarine. You mentioned both in this video and I am curious which it is. Is there one you prefer for sky? Thanks!
Hi Darryl, firstly thanks for watching and enjoying my videos! This was ultramarine mostly and as the sky gets closer to the horizon I tend to add a little phthalo blue also! Hope this helps!🎨👍🖼

It's not on my website yet. I am in BC Canada and plan to go out and tackle the plein air aspect as soon as I'm set up for it (I have done a few small ones before). Need to build a new easel first!
RICHARD MUSGRAVE-EVANS, Mine finally came in. I like the flat upper edge vs the tapered one. The tapered one makes it harder to judge whether it’s level. Keep on painting!
