And actision could care less about making the gun bans when they don't even host their own events half the time. Who else knows what to ban when you're playing cod at the highest level other than the pros themselves. Realistically the only solution is to create a blueprint they have to fill out like say 7 perks have to be allowed you guys choose which ones. There has to be 3 ARs allowed 3 Subs allowed. They'll fill it in but it'll just end up being the same 2 weapons played anyway

Ever since the volk in vanguard, the pros aren't going to take the chance that another team can get an advantage from running a weapon that nobody else wanted to try and so its easier to just ban everything. As long as a gun isn't clearly busted it should be allowed
yea I stopped playing and watching cod for a bit, used to watch some competitive and played some ranked. Yes things were banned, like the FAL (bo2) or RPGs from other games, but I was so shocked when I loaded bo6 ranked and like 80% of the game wasn't allowed. Makes all the games look the same from a viewer point. As a viewer I would love to see snipers or even shotguns (just cuz they're different and would be refreshing).
Stair glitching is kinda hard to GA look at last year people still did it even on lan some knew they did it and some didn't notice so it's kinda hard to GA that unless it's obvious

Most DLC guns (at least ARs and SMGs) are at least a little OP at launch, because CoD wants you to buy a bundle or the battle pass, whatever... they want people to use the new gun, then they nerf it into oblivion later... The pros know that most DLC guns are "better" than whatever they're currently using, so it's just easier for them to auto-ban DLC weapons. Not saying that I agree with how the rules for Ranked/CDL play are set, but that's just how it is. Historically, DLC guns have never been allowed in competitive CoD, but the way they do things now is stupid. I think Ranked should follow the CDL ruleset to a point... But when it comes to the specific weapons allowed, from the allowed weapon classes, that should be dictated by the devs who balance the weapons. Not the pros who are competing for money. If they want to ban certain guns because they're OP in a CDL environment, fine. But the game that the masses play is a business, first and foremost. Ranked gets really boring using the same two or three guns for months on end. And some people only care about Ranked, nothing else matters to them.
Here is the thing I think with the Ames being the choice AR. It's so much weaker than the SMGs. That this year will be only Jackal and Snipe. Unless they GA'd snipe too. Then it's gonna be a 4v4 PDW game. So they either need an AR rebalance, again. Since they effed them up with the last balance. Or fix on SMGs. Because at this rate, with the GA's. They should just pick one gun to use, and focus on movement and map control for pro league.
There should just be a limit to how many things can be GA'd so players would be a little more careful about what gets GA'd rather than just "meh idc, vote no", like each team gets 1 or 2 or something.
Bring back Ban and Protect. If Pros and Devs can’t GA or Balance properly… screw it.. Ban and Protect guns each team wants to play towards (not ban protect perks) Games will be mixy but at least it’ll be less complaining about these stupid GAs and more just getting mad at Ban and Protect instead.
i feel like this could be good if a coach handles the votes and gets their teams opinions. more as a representative than a player to limit the players that dont want to respond

All of these conversations are completely neglecting the viewer experience and how snipers always bring the cheers and the average viewer likes to watch them.. Who is representing the viewers in the "GA" committee? The viewers and the amount of viewership dictates the longevity of competitive COD.. We NEED someone who can give there input from a viewer perspective...
The voting should remain private/anonymous, BUT there has to be a 3rd party to be able to override decisions that make absolutely no sense. The 3rd party should be a group of people that have no conflict of interest with certain teams and focus on what will make the game entertaining for the viewers.
Any conversation pros have about GA's in almost any game just boils down to "Im stuck in my ways and don't feel like adapting.".....Someone pulls out a sniper, you pull out a counter snipe. Someone pulls a Krig, you pull a Krig. How the fuck is something "overpowered" if the other team can use it too? "Steph Curry makes too many 3's so lets ban the 3 pointer" orrrrrrr maybe practice perimeter defense and 3 pointers yourself... The best "argument" any of these baby ass pros will ever give is "Well there was 8 of them on the map😭" okay...cool....still an even playing field then so the fuck is the issue??? @@KeepMeATec this is because back in the day there was a perk called dead silence which added a bit of a skill gap (i know how does silently going around the map add a skill gap) this happens because the opposing player now has to play off info and "reading your play"/"predicting your play" which made cod way harder now you just sit in a corner and listen which takes no skill.

These dudes are some of the most brain dead in esports. They dont even look at weapon stats most of the time. Saug is pretty mid in TTK but has great strafe handling. Optic voting it out with the best movement player is a head scratcher.

Ga bans on weapons need to go. And from now on bans happen during the match start like cs2 how maps happen. That way u can take away teams best weapons or set ups making them find new ways to win. I'm high tho so who knows lol

There may be a player or team who like using the saug. By banning it, you take the option of using it away completely for that player/team.
