I used to be a cop in Augusta. I can give you plenty of reasons not to move to Augusta. Sorry and understaffed sheriff’s office, corrupt local politicians, If you’re a small business trying to win contracts you gotta be part of the “clique” in order to stand a chance(gotta know somebody), full of gangs, unruly juveniles running the streets, no comedy club, did I mention there’s always a shooting like the shooting downtown the other day with thousands of people hanging out?, and the terrible roads with all the potholes will tear up your car just to name a few. If you want to move to the augusta area move to COLUMBIA COUNTY! Stay out of RICHMOND COUNTY! Your families lives will be I. Constant danger, and you will have to put your kid in private school to keep them safe and not dumb, because the Richmond county board of education is just as bad as the commissioners. There are plenty of articles online that will show you how corrupt they are.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. It's important to recognize that every city has its challenges, and Augusta is no exception. However, it's worth noting that issues like crime and corruption are present in many places and often on a much larger scale than here.
Coming from the Chicagoland area, a much larger region than Augusta, I find that the issues you mentioned are not as pronounced here in comparison. However, everyone's experience is different, and it's always wise for people to thoroughly research and visit new locations before deciding to move.
It’s always wise to remember that no place is without its problems. What might be a dealbreaker for one person might not be for another.
Thanks for your input and I hope your concerns is helpful for those making the decision to relocate.
