Robert Lamm s voice is as great as it was in 1970 as it is now. He is so amazing and he still looks good too. I played Beginnings I know a 1000 times back in the 70s. I still enjoy all the RUclips videos. Great memories the 70s.
I'm his fan since 1969. saw him with Chicago in Amsterdam..He is the only one left in the band, I love to see together with Jimmy Pankow (trombone) and Lee Loughnane (trumpet) ..
Awesomeness! Chicago experimenting with a female trombonist and a female back up vocalist. What a beautiful timeless melody! Chicago forever 💪🏼🎸🇺🇲 Terry Kath lives in our hearts!
He was smart to sing in his normal voice range. Now 25 years later he still sounds great. Peter Satera (and many others) on the other hand, that sang in those ridiculously high notes can't hit them anymore.
Robert Lamm was amazing. Besides Terry Kath, Robert Lamm was Chicago. After Terry died, it was never the same. And Peter went soft commercial pop which I never understood and never enjoyed.
Old comment I know but felt it was worth replying to. I believe Peter's decision to take the band in that direction was a part of the times. Look at where the Doobie Brothers went when Michael McDonald took over. Blood Sweat and Tears..well we know what happened there. Earth Wind and Fire.. The list goes on. Terry's passing happened at a time when the landscape of this type of music was undergoing a transition and change was inevitable in order to survive as a group. With disco hitting the scene and the slow ballads achieving popularity, Peter did what he thought was necessary to keep some of the old Chicago feel but with a vibe that fit into the more modern era. It worked, too. Chicago went on to have many top 10 songs well into the Era. Hard to say I'm sorry/Get away is a great example of this.
Jose. If you would like to know more about the Rhodes pianos..ask me....I've played one since 1973 and own 4 of them now. I've repaired more than i care to remember.
I saw Chicago in the 2000's and they sounded nothing like this. They were so bad that people were walking out when they came on stage. This guy I don't know if he's a new singer for Chicago sounds amazing and great. The band sounds great. The guy who was lead at this time was so bad with the vocals it sounded like a cover band.
What happened to his vibrato or lack there of. He's singing this so straight, I get that he doesn't want to sound like a lounge singer but come on, he used to sing so much better. ;/
I’ll never tire of hearing Robert Lamm sing “Beginnings!” Only the beginning of what I want to hear forever.

Pop, rock, jazz... which one? Or the 3 at the same time? Priceless.

Lamm is my favorite next to Kath. Love his voice.
Jason Scheff, so underrated as a singer and a bass player.
Happy birthday, Robert
Muito talento e voz!
oh wow, very impressed with the young lady playing the trombone - Haylee, Kaighley? Anyway, she's great.
What happened to Pankow he retired with Parazieder [ he called himself Walt Perry in the Fillmore program
She's a better player than Pankow (with a MUCH better sound), and she's not annoying like Pankow.
Pankow is annoying as hell, but his horn charts are genius.
@@josebelindo1641 Robert Lamm had this group on the side. Some familiar members, some not.

I'm sorry but Bobby blows Cetera out of the water. What a voice!!
Agreed!
Not quite
Fenômeno.
Thanks for this, Jerome. Great version of "Beginnings." Lamm's such a class act! Do you happen to know where this was?
I don't know where it was recorded.
Auckland, New Zealand.
This song is SO much better with electric guitar...
I prefer acoustic guitar intro.
Terry Kath 💪🏼🎸👑
Where was Walter Parazaider and James Pankow? Walter is now retired but James is still with the band.
2:47 they get girls to hit the high notes like the MOODY BLUES
3:18 pedal tones
Lee's solo was awesome and a bit different than I usually hear.
Wow 😊
Yes, perfect:)!
Better solo than Pankow has played in the last 25 years on this song.
well 4 of Chicago
1:48 that's it improvise like Frank Sinatra
2:30 FENDER RHODES electric piano [ it has hammers and metal bars

Excuse me but wasn't there a live version of "it's a groove, this life on this channel?"

Leonid and Friends
Looks like Rob Blagojevich twin brother. Totally
Where's keith ???
It sounds like a lounge act lol.
