I know this is just anime but I love how they took the time to know that iron when improperly tempered becomes very brittle and very susceptible to both stress fractures and other immense failure due to improper heating being either too hot or too cold cause to properly temper any metal you have to find the just right temperature and if done correctly it's near impossible to break! So natsu vs gajeel is a prefect matchup and I love every aspect of it
I always see people say nattsu is overpowered with power of friendship. Lemme remind you Natsu is a FUCKING DEMON, and the strongest of all. That proves gajeel's strength in this arc, which was comparable to natsu's. Even when natsu was powered up with rage or eating fire (which for me, seemed like for plot reasons, natsus boost was wayyy higher than gajeel, when should be the same).
Isn't it weird that before eating fire natsu arm bruised by gajeel's fist but after eating the fire natsu casually deflected gajeel's roar and blocked his fist now I know it was pure emotion not his own power but still, I didn't know the power of emotion can make one's bone 10x times harder and stronger

This was at the start of the show💀 Natsu don't need fire to win any more for example he smoked sting and rogue in base while they were using dragon force by himself and holding back
