Hey, Georgeous! Definitely leave the old video up! It's awesome to see how you've changed and continue learning as we all do. I know a 99 year old witch who could teach us all a thing or two, but you could definitely teach her some things too! Xx
Nawwww bless you beautiful hope you're well and things are getting better 😘 me and Ash were saying if we're in Cornwall you'll be the first one we'll contact! Xxx
@@MrShadowbwoy Yes, thank you! There's a long term issue needing long term butt-kick but I'm on it! The other thing's sorted. And damn straight you will! Likewise if I'm in your neck of the woods! 😘 Xx
Respectfully , that term, “The Old Religion”, was misconstrued by people who should have known better. Historically it referred to Catholicism, coming into use after the English Reformation and the introduction of Protestantism by Henry VIII and his successors. It had nothing to do with paganism or witchcraft , the Murray Theory has been thoroughly disproven. The sooner the fakelore stops being spread , the better.
I see my craft and practice as kind of separate. Like my religion is wicca where I celebrate sabbets and equinoxs along with rituals working with the gods. As where witchcraft my craft spell work is pretty separate in my mind where I follow folk Magick in my spell craft.
Gardnerian wicca seeker here. I really liked this video. I loved that you talked abiut the rede and not being universal law in wicca, and about traditional wicca not being fluffy bunny. For anyone that is new and reading this coment TRADITIONAL WICCA AND ECLECTIC OR NEOWICCA ARE NOT THE SAME THING!!! However i would like to correct a few things. 1. Gerald didn't created wicca. Wicca existed before Gerald Gardner. It's true is not an ancient unbroken line but is older than Gerald. He just published this tradition. There was a law " the witchcraft act" in uk that made it illegal to talk or write or proclaim yourself a witch. When that law was lifted in 1950 Gerald was free to write about witchcraft, and he did.... 2. What is out there about traditional wicca is just speculation mostly. Keep in mind that is an oathbound mistery tradition, meaning that the initiates cannot speak or reveal anything to non initiates. So until you are actually initiated in trad wicca you acually do not know what they actually practice and believe ( it could be verry much exactly like what you call traditional witchcraft). 3. Gerald never used the term wicca or wiccan. He refered to the tradition as witchcraft and to the intiates as witches. Maxine sanders said in a book or an interview ( i dont remember exactly) that they started to use wicca as a code name in public to not attract attencion. When they were going out somewere in a public restaurant or coffe shop they refered to the craft as wicca and to themselfs as wiccans, because witchcraft and witches still inspired fear in people, because of the satanic panic.
Gerald did refer to the members of his tradition as Wicca..Of course Gerald created Wicca!. Ceremonial magic is older than Wicca and was an original influence for what would eventually becoome Wicca. Gardener drew his influence from many magical traditions , and travelling to many parts of the world,. He was influenced by Crowley who introduced him to other esoteric traditions such as Budhhism, Jewish Mysticism, Hiduism, Trot and Astrology. Gardener used rituals devised by Crowley.
I think this is the video you are referring to - ruclips.net/video/-Zgls2HMipA/видео.html , where Maxine mentions how they used the term Wicca and she also mentions where they obtained the term from... although I can't remember exactly where she says so. Also in Liz William's book 'Miracles of Our Own Making - A History of Paganism', the author writes of the Saxon words from around 410 A.D. of 'wiccecraeft' and 'wiccedom', meaning witchery, so the term Wicca could have been derived from these terms.
Thank you I'm learning something new about the arts. 🇺🇸☮️🌹💓

Thanks for coming on. I would only add for those who say witchcraft is a practice not a religion, well it is called The Old Religion. Respectfully.

another great video xxxxx
Really glad to see a fellow Brit do vids on this subject
I like many aspects of Wicca. However, I can't stand the gatekeeping.
I'm still here
Really an awesome video 😊 which books do you recommend for traditional witchcraft of your region?
The Crooked Path.
I dont think Robert Cochrane was ever a Gardnerian witch. It is most likely just another weird rumor.
Could you compare Traditional craft to Hoodoo and Wicca to Voodoo? In terms of there being gods/religion... Dunno
Now that is a good idea for a new video 💡
