The SBC can't decide if it's predominantly Woke Evangelical or Reformed Calvinist. I would prefer to see it return to essential Baptist distinctives. But until it decides one way or the other, this "Creedal" discussion should be seen for what it is - simply part of the tug-of-war between vultures fighting scraps of carcass. Thanks to the vid! Subbed to both you and The Reluctant Theologian. 👍
You might want to listen to the whole episode. I give quotes from the Baptist Faith and Message to back up my point and understanding of creedalism. It's not merely Strong and Craig.
I've heard people say they like Mullins. But this is such a brutal mispresentation of both Baptist history and how creeds work that I can't take someone seriously as a thinker after hearing it. Thomist? Only if you mean Thomas Goodwin. If anything, I come from the Biblical Theology side. But having watched many of the BT heroes slide into heresy or fail to adapt to culture drift, give us a creedal anchor, thank you.

I'm amazed that Mullins would say that.
