Lol! For a gyros video you mention shwarama a whole lot! I love a good Gyros. You said it. A fresh flavour with Tzatziki. Pork and greek pita. Maybe it's just Toronto having traditonally more Greek infuence in the city when growing up. It's a bit nostalgic. On The Danforth for gyros. Messini's was always my go to. Thanks for showcasing other spots the check out!
Souv Like has been a great standard setter and no doubt top end gyro spot in gta...maybe my top..other worth mentioning is place that started the first ever fries in a gyros greek island style gyros - Messinis . Must try as well..to me its between them and Souv Like on whos the best of the best
It's Greek, not Middle Eastern. However you do raise an important point about vegetarian options at Greek restaurants. There are definitely non meat dishes in Greek cuisine, but non that in a souvlaki serving.

This video will get this place shut down😂. She has no gloves on and a ring and is cross contaminating the spices with raw meat… the food looked good but thats a pass fr

So I gave it a few days to see if I had any adverse effects and happy to report that, no, I feel great. Let me begin by stating the obvious, I'm not an industry expert, just a guy who likes food and generally prefers to showcase small business spots mainly because many members of my extended family run food spots (albeit not here in GTA). Anyway, I tried looking into the laws and the rules and generally accepted best practices. I couldn't find any law requiring gloves in Ontario - they mostly just talk about clean hands and avoiding cross contamination, however I would say that yes, many spots consider gloves a best practice. I can't speak to the ring, didn't find much info there (mostly rules about clean attire, hair and fingernails) and as for the seasonings, the shop seems confident (not that that should be the measuring stick) that they are avoiding cross contamination. My guess is that box of seasoning is only used on the chicken for that day but that is just a guess. Ultimately in the case of this video in particular, I showed what they asked me to film or gave permission for me to record and presented it as is. Editing is done only for pacing purposes for the most part but the footage is not altered to appear different in anyway. I sincerely apologize if this or any of my videos upset anyone or put an establishment in an awkward position, it is not my intention to do so. If you've bothered to read this far, thanks for your time and as always for supporting the channel and local small business. Have a good day!

You gotta get the gyros with the kontosouvli meat at Souv Like. Best of both worlds - trust me, I’m Greek 😎

Love a good gyro! Dont know if ive ever seen pork here in the area! Great video man! 💯
@@DetroitFoodReview yeah, pork is definitely more rare - that’s why I like this place!
Pork is the traditional gyro meat. If they’re not serving pork gyros, it’s not authentic Greek 😉
@@TheRealDeal_81 It seems around here they have lamb and chicken. Ill have to keep my eye out for a place that has the pork.

You vegetarians are seriously messed up! You want falafel go get we Greeks don’t believe in vegetarians! Clowns!
how about messinis which is better

Messinis is not better…. They were good until better places showed up! Plus the owner is a big POS! Trust me
Messini sucks. So does Alexandros now. Souv Like is where it’s at.
10 years maybe but now is 🗑🗑🗑
SouvLike beats Messinis by far!
Toronto has become goto place for 3rd world country cuisine
Check out big belly at Dufferin and Lawrence for the best gyros!
