That one gives me more of a nostalgic feeling. This one... I could imagine actually having it on my iPod. In truth, the fact that the versions are so different and both good is a testament to the simplistic beauty of the melody itself. Give props to the songwriters: Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley

i am a maroon five lover. Me and my ex enjoyed their first (and best) album, songs about jane, together for our first valentines day. Played it through, multiple times. Never got sick of it. So maybe im biased a bit, although i think their second album was just ok, but i think this song is great. The guitar solo may be a bit much, but they had to add their little twist to it, so i don't hate them for it. But i love this

@jasonsan10 dude the guitar makes this song absolutely beautiful. If you listen you can FEEL the guitar as it plays. It represents a lot.. The guitar solo represents explosions and war. By making it sound messed up and scary its giving a small hint of war.
that keyboard riff is classic...i can just hear it (sounding more like a music box, and slower...then, *bam*! a body drops. call me weird. It kinda reminds me of that ominously tinkling snippet in SAW III just before the angel trap goes off...
Nice cover ... it does show just how amazing young Jackie Evancho's performance of this song is .. almost a magical quality ... crystalline. The male voices do add a nice somewhat soothing quality but not as ethereal as a female soprano voice, though Glee's rendition using the male tenors with the alto / sopranos from the girls adding fullness and richness.

The Whole Willy Wonka Movie is a Metaphor of basically being offered the whole world of material things, but choosing the spiritual path and using your imagination(creativity) and making a difference in the world..As we follow the "humble" child Charlie bucket who literally in the end gains the entire factory...while the rest of the kids washed up in the "candy" factory (material things) end up basically loosing their soul.."Find the Kingdom of Heaven within and everything will be added to you"
This is like the psychedelic version of the song. Definitely lost the innocence the original song had but this is as I would assume geared towards the adults. It's all very dreamy and trippy like Pink Floyd.
