Wanted to share a thought: the definition of death is separation, not annhiliation. So the agony of death is separation, including from God Himself, so I'm thinking Jesus felt the agony of separation from the Father and the Spirit when He was physically dead? Makes sense to me at least :). Another terrific show = thank you. I enjoy spending time with you all.
Replying to Laurie D Mills question of Jesus feeling the separation from the Father on our behalf : I have no scripture to back this up and would appreciate any feedback from other believers. I believe Jesus experienced the equivalent of eternal separation from the Father and the Spirit on our behalf. My reasoning is thus : If the punishment for our sin was being separated from God for a finite time period, we could have paid that price on our own and then reunited with God in fellowship. I believe the real punishment to be eternal separation from God and for us to pay that penalty would require we stay separated from Him forever. Now we know that Jesus is fully God and became fully man also when he came from heaven to Earth. Being God, He is eternal and outside the constraints of time as we know it. I believe because of this unique aspect, that He could experience the horror of eternal separation on our behalf during the time He was on the cross. We focus mostly on the brutal physical death He suffered and rightfully so. But if as I believe, He also endured the equivalent of eternal separation spiritually, how much more sobering of a thought is that? Hence the verse, " How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? "

Si's issues with Phones are REAL.
My family has a history of problems with wristwatches, cell phone, street lights, and many other common mechanical and electronic devices.
My mother was a nurse's aid and was expected to use a wristwatch to check pulse (back in the 1970's), keep her appointed rounds, etc.
She was constantly having to replace watches because they would stop working after a few weeks. Soon she gave up and started leaving the watches at home in a drawer til she could figure out what to do with them. A few months later, my aunt opened the desk drawer and asked my mom "why all the watches?" My mother explained the problem, but my aunt questioned her as every watch in the drawer was working! Some were mechanical and needed winding to work, but they all worked, even the electronic watches, so NO it wasn't a dead battery.
Street lights often (at least once if not several times during a few mile watch around town) go out in the middle of the night with NO headlights or other sources of light to trigger the daylight "off" sensor, just me walking near them.
I also have noticed with my new automated home devices, that lights in my own house are turning off or on at random, no routines programmed for the devices, no switches to be bumpted, no motion sensors, just me watching within a few yards of the device.
There is little science behind this, with speculation running from "coincidence" to high acid body chemistry to psychic or super-natural powers to 'electric people' syndrome which involves people acting as a large, out of control, electrical device that often "zaps" people and objects they touch with what seems to be static electricity, though often the shock comes when conditions are WORSE for static discharge (e.g. wet, non-conductive, person and objects are already grounded, etc.)
Just as many people in the Bible have gifts from God, I like to think people like my mom, Uncle Si, and myself do also.
It may not be for as grand a purpose as those in the Bible, but it can still serve to help others retain a wonder about life and the world, keeps us grounded in reality and away from worldly things, ideas and people that may lead us astray, and it makes for a good source of stories to share with friends.
