What can I say guys, big thanks for the opportunity of getting involved in this road trip. Dan, Ben, Sam, Shona, Robbie, Adam, and of course Chris and Ian, it was a pleasure. The new car really is a fantastic machine. I like that Clubbys both old and new are not everyones cup of tea, be a boring place if we all liked the same stuff.
Nice but shame it wasn't more in depth. A proper comparison across the different gens of mini on a trip like that wouldn't have been really interesting
After a test drive...i expected to be disappointed coming from an Hyundai i30N....but far from it....Just ordered one...my first ever Mini at 69yrs old.

I just tested the 306 HP Countryman JCW today, lol... It's one of the craziest and most comfiest cars I've ever driven in.

Proud owner of an R57 JCW. My bonnet scoop air intake is real. Shame it isn’t on the new JCWs and Cooper S models...
What have you fitted to your R57 intake Sean?
Mike Fleming haven’t fitted anything to it, it’s stock. 1.6 turbo, so I imagine turbo has air flow from it.
I thought you'd maybe fitted a cold air intake of some sort. As standard the scoop is pretty much cosmetic too, only on the R53 was it fully utilized to feed cold air to the intercooler. I know it's open, but only about 50%, and it probably lets more hot air out when you stop than cold air in when you drive lol.

@@SeanHendy I hear you, I've got one lol, although to be honest I prefer the clean look of a normal Cooper bonnet. I guess they had to keep it to look different.
Would like to know if this hefalump generation Mini is better than the last Clubman JCW. That was quite an exotic non factory build. Can't help thinking this is just another cynical marketing exercise... If it is any good is it as good ar touring than say a Gold Clubsport or R?

You're welcome mate, we scored with the weather when we filmed that, last week of August, it looks equally great in winter too.
