Very nice, that little seperation at the heel is nothing.

Beautiful boots! I’ve been looking for something in cordovan that isn’t too pricy.
I’m breaking in some White’s right now. Give the PNW bootmakers a look if you are interested in something different.

Hey Love this video for your Meermin Shell Cordovan boot video. They just released a MTO for a similar boot in cherry shell. But I'm super nervous of spending close to 500 dollars for the boots. I want to know how like yours after wearing them a while. How's the fit? I wear a 10D in AE 65/201 last, so should I get 9 or 9.5 UK for meermin? Also how's the break in? Honestly any additional information would be highly appreciated.

$450 for a shell cordovan, good year welted boot is not a “fair price,” it is an absolute STEAL!!! Lucky you...

My color perception is not good. How far apart is the cherry color different from burgundy?

I love these and am buying a cordovan chukka boot myself,What size are these shoes in UK sizing? Can you please tell me the external dimensions of the shoes (max length and width in cms). Meermins' hok last has become famous for size confusion....

Man those are nice! You could wear em with a navy suit. Can hardly tell they are commando. Awesome price for shell.

Nice boots.. Meermin is known for QC issues but if you can overlook them it shouldn’t be an issue.

Fortunately, the damage is on your least favorite part of the shoe. You can always get these soles changed to your liking down the road

That small crack will not have any impact on wear. If it truly bothers you, take it to a cobbler and have him recluse the top lift. This is a cheap and easy way to fix it, but really completely unnecessary. It is absolutely unbelievable that you would find any pair of shell cordovan boots under $500. It is just an absolute steal.

You mentioned the hiro last. How do those fit for wide feet?

    • @petesilvestri
      @petesilvestri 4 года назад

Jona Martens The Hiro last is a bit narrower than the Rui and Hok last.
I had the opportunity to check out the SOHO location and try on different boots and shoes.
I’m a 9.5. - 10 US and tired on a 8.5 UK in the Hiro and it felt really snug for a boot. I like to have some room for wool socks so I tried a hok last 8.5 UK and it was a good fit with plenty of room for wool socks.

Love these Chinese made boots. Their craftsmanship is unbeatable at very reasonable price. Chinese shoe makers are on par if not better than shoemakers in the west.

It’s a heavy and sturdy rubber outsole made in England; it really won’t be an issue. As long as it isn’t the welt damaged (what connects the upper to the sole) then you’re fine (which it isn’t).
Though you might be able to get a reimbursement or something from Meermin, especially since you unboxed it on video. Either way, it’s fine

You would've preferred a non-commando sole but they didn't have that offering at the time, yet it's a made-to-order boot? There's something wrong there. Shell cordovan commando boot, who would ever guess such a combo could even be considered? It's like a gold-plated toilet.

beautiful boots, but I'd have them fix the errors. if you're paying $450 for shoes, they should be perfect

      >if you're paying $450 for shoes, they should be perfect
Lol that's basically the cost of the materials.
You can buy them yourself and build your own boots and see how that turns out if you prefer. Or pay 900 for a flawless pair from a manufacturer that produces in Europe.

@@golDroger88 Meermin is in Europe. They are cheaper because there's no wholesale or retail markup. Do a little homework man. They're making plenty of profit at those prices.

@@plumtiger1 Meermin is in Mallorca but they produce in China. It's you who needs to do research, friend.
If you want flawless shoes you need to pay more for them because you must pay the shoemakers.
