So, actually, this should be called:
Dune: The Bene Gesserit
It's based on the book which is called Sisterhood of Dune. I think that's a better title, should have used that really
So we are just going to gloss over the Mentats. Which the Bene Gesserit hated. And yes they did have a war with them. Ooops guess we only care about go fem woke crap

The cinematography looks really flat compared to the films. I wouldn't have had the impression at all that this was a Dune series if I didn't read the title. Looks like a Game of Thrones spin off.
Same thought. It doesn't even fit in feeling to Dennis Villeneuve's adaptation. It feels like a cookie cutter series, just pick one. The casting of the characters seems off.
Every single character in the modern Dune, all have a captivating presence. Here it feels empty.
It really does put it in great contrast to see this next to DVs films
She was BAD ASS in Chernobyl as the Soviet Scientist that cracked the code early on and helped save the day.

A dune series is we need
I admire your certainty in that... Given TV shows often make terrible adaptations of books so as to string their overall story out to a muti season spanning show they often end up 1000 miles away from the source material. Not always a bad thing mind, I mean Foundation TV show has some marked differences from the books but it is a very decent show and general adaptation, same with The Expanse.
Then you have the likes of Game Of Thrones... ahem.

@@edwardhuggins84 I suppose if they were concise, 6 to 10 episodes a season, 2 seasons per book, this would avoid writers filling in the gaps to pad out the script due to having insufficient materials to further on screen story arcs then it could be epic I admit, like I say, I love foundation despite its variance from the written books. But I look over there in the bargain bin at game of thrones, .... (shudders)
I happen to have seen the Syfy channels dune TV series recently despite it being made near 20yrs ago, it didn't have the budget it needed for sure and there were one or two miscasts, the baron basically being a fat gay sugar daddy didn't help though as a brit I do love the actor who played him, been around all my life.
That aside, all actors gave it their all and it was very enjoyable and gave me far more of the Dune I know than the 1984 movie ever did though I also love that for its total madness. 😂 😂
Ah well, will see what they do. Not sure they will find a better paul than Timothee Chalamet mind. Kids barely out of puberty yet has the stage presence of someone who has lived 5 lifetimes. If he sticks to decent roles and a decent grounded non scandalous living, when his time is over he may well go down as one of the greatest actors of this century.

Will it explain how they get off the worms?
They usually wait until the worm is sufficiently exhausted by the ride that, when they use ropes to climb down it, the worm simply burrows back under the sand to rest, and leaves them alone. Releasing it before that risks an attack.
@@aslyn8943 so they get off when the worm is tired, so could be many many miles from place they want to be dropped off, got it. they had his pregnant mum on a carry device, how they get that on and off? i might be the only person who didnt like number 2

Jumping on the bandwagon? No, dude... They've always been part of the production and distribution of the Dune movies. Remember when the first remake was released in 2021? HBO practically streamed it at the same time it was shown in cinemas. If I'm not mistaken they even streamed it a day earlier.

This sounds so boring, just the bene geserit? The dune prequels have an AI overmind on dozens of planets, robots enslaving mankind, a robot that adopted a human and raised it like a machine, a jihad war against machines, interesting characters and story.
Yes also the start of the bene geserit but also the mentats, the set up for abandoning computers and advancing "organic" technology, the butlerian jihad, so much more! Why make such a narrow show??

The two movies we have got so far just happen to some of the greatest science fiction ever on screen. Certainly some of the best book adaptation,.I even thought it improved on the book in parts
