Hi SJ, I've been watching for years, infact you helped name our first who's 18 months now, Amos. I love his name SO much. I've just found out I'm pregnant tonight!! I love Opal and Ivy! Can't wait for the boy list! Xx
After 2 loses and years trying I’m 24 weeks along and we are still looking for a name for our precious little boy coming soon 💙😊💙 Can’t wait to see the list next week. Please keep the boy name lists coming! My husband and I find boy names way harder than girls lol! Thanks SJ and this awesome community! Xox
Interesting amount of literary names! Pandora- Greek myth Martha and Delilah- Biblical lit Ophelia- Shakespeare Freya- Norse myth Hazel- contemporary lit (Fault in our Stars) So, it would be fun to do a favorite literary names list and pick ONE favorite boy and girl name from super popular book series: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Twilight, Game of Thrones, Shakespeare plays, etc. You could list all the categories and have everyone pick their faves in the categories in the comments! Also, have you done a Star Wars list? Okay I’m done being Uber-nerdy 😂
I can see why these are the top names. They're just so beautiful. Delilah and Ophelia have been on my list of names that I like. Maeve was one I discovered a while ago and it has been rising in popularity. I was hoping it didn't become too popular because I wanted to use it.
Hi SJ! I have fallen in love with Ophelia and Pandora. We are (fingers crossed) a week away from a frozen embryo transfer through IVF and would love to see you do a list for cold/ice/hope/wish. Our Son, born in 2019, an IVF miracle, is Theodore Titan 💙 I hope you are well, sending love xxx
Gorgeous list. We also wanted something more unique than common, but still a well known name and I think we settled on a perfect fit when we welcomed little Juliet 16 days ago 😊 Everyone has heard of it but you don't come across it too often, (where we live anyway!) so it's a little unique in that sense!
My 30 year old sister's name is Martha and here in Belgium it's most common among elderly ladies, but I love it. It's so unique! For us living right next to the Netherlands, I don't think Holland will ever be popular here as a girl's name. My daughter was born in 2020 and Norah was in my top 4 when trying to name her. We ended up choosing Kina in the end.
Holland Roden is an actress from Teen Wolf, who many of us now in our mid-late 20's would have watched as teens. Could be why it is popular now! I know its been on my list for years because of her.
SO thrilled to have you back! We’re 8w today and have been watching for years, but it’s my first pregnant BNM!!! These are all beautiful, decidedly feminine, but we’ve decided on using one non-binary name: Larkin This list has so many of my favorite girl names on it, it’s making me second guess Larkin - and wondering if it’s passé now that all these classic, stately, female names are making a comeback. Those colors are divine on you!
My daughters name is Penny- she’s got light red hair too so she’s a true copper penny 🤩 love Opal if we was to be lucky enough for another daughter in future! Xx
Your top is so gorgeous and bright SJ ☺️ Just what we need to see on this dark Monday evening 💗 I absolutely love Honorah I never knew that was a long form of Norah which is on my list😍 🥰
Ivy, Violet & Maeve were some of my top names for our baby girl born in November… husband wasn’t keen though so she ended up Darcy Matilda, which I still love 🥰 Going to push for one of those lovely ‘v’ names if we ever have another daughter though x
Just had my baby girl in November and plucked up the Courage to call her Opal💝 and it so suits her and we love it. It’s not that crazy out there once you get used to it. X
Love this list! Almost went with Maeve to honor my grandma, as her middle name is Mae, but decided to just go with Mae as we saw how popular Maeve was getting. After many years of watching your videos and discussing with my partner, we finally have picked 4 name options for our children: Elowen Opal andMae Olivine for girls, and Elias Archer and August ___ for boys. We still haven’t to found a middle name for August that we loved and matched the other names’ vibe. Any suggestions would be appreciated😊
These names are gorgeous! I had at least four of these on my list when I was pregnant. I knew a girl in high school whose given name was Penny. She wore it well, and it didn’t seem too young or childish.
I know an adult woman named penny and no one finds it strange. also, I've very recently become obsessed with the name Francesca because it would be so cute to call a little girl "Frankie"
Hi SJ! The first thing I noticed was your bright and colorful top. Then, I noticed your anchor pendant. It reminded me of the verse in the Bible found in the book of Hebrews, Chapter 6, Verse 19. If you are not familiar with the history of an anchor I encourage you to look into it as you like to research. I enjoy watching these videos.
Wow this is pretty much my name list! Us BNE geeks really aren’t that original after all 😂 But boy do we have good taste! Norah and Hazel are in my top 3 after Olive. Also have Delilah, Violet, and Maeve on my list. Such a lovely video SJ! Can’t wait for the podcast to come back. Hope you and Naomi had a lovely break x
This is my list! Love love love. My current fave is Hazel and I love Freya and Delilah and Violet has been on my list from the beginning as its my husbands grandmas name. Can't wait to see the boys version as I struggle with boys! x
Awww I named my daughter Maeve Luna to honour her Irish and Italian heritage back in 2017 way before the Sex Education show and it was a relatively rare name in the UK. Now I’m worried it’s going to become too popular 🙈 though I guess it’s better to be popular for a positive reason and not a negative one! My second daughter Esme Willow was born last summer. I’m fascinated with names and this is a great channel xx
My 17 year old is named Opal and was really excited for the book and movie when she was younger. Her name is really similar to the main character's name, who is actually named India Opal, but goes by Opal. My daughter's name is Opal Indica.
I’m a little bummed that my all time favorite girl name (Violet) is near the top of the charts. Granted, I don’t plan on having kids anytime soon, so maybe in 5-10 years, the name won’t be so popular anymore?
Baby name Monday is always a wonderful time. I’m longing to name my future babies 👶 and to have fun finding the perfect combination! ( not pregnant btw 😂 and won’t be anytime soon but one day!)
I was surprised to see Martha because it does still feel quite old fashioned to me but once I thought about it actually makes a lot of sense that with the popularity of Margot and Matilda, Martha feels similar and is maybe just now becoming ready for a comeback.
We have a 7 year old Magnolia (family name) and then I’m pregnant now and we are leaning to Delilah Blair. We loved Holland with nn Holls, but we are potentially moving back to the Netherlands so I don’t think it’s very wearable for us.
Before my grandmother passed away she told me she was the name Scarlett so in honor of her we always said Scarlett Jean but a few years ago we decided to change it to Billy and then we changed it to Freya but my mom passed away a month ago from cancer her name waskatherine so we've been playing around with names that come from Katherine like Kathy Kathleen Catalina if we've ever had a little girl poison ivy was a character from DC she was a misunderstood villain

Hi SJ, they're back! I personally love Freya but I've seen a lot of people not liking it! I used to hear Haze a lot a few years back but really not so much now. Ivy is one of the few names that I'm not a huge fan of but I don't really know why.
these are all such gorgeous names wow. Magnolia is gorgeous but i go by aggie and i feel that her nickname would ultimately be maggie so it probably wouldn’t work for me :( Ophelia is a stunning name i would love to use it

Unisex girl names are very popular ! Like Holland. For my little girl I am going with “Ripley Rose”

Holland Roden is an actress from Teen Wolf, who many of us now in our mid-late 20's would have watched as teens. Could be why it is popular now! I know its been on my list for years because of her.
I am an older person & delighted to see my name Martha on this list. It is so rarely used nowadays.
Marty is a cute nickname! My maiden name was Martin and I had maybe Marta or Martine as possibilities, but Martha is cuter than either of those.
SO thrilled to have you back! We’re 8w today and have been watching for years, but it’s my first pregnant BNM!!!
