At the end of season 4, the cast and writers found out there wouldn't be a season 7. So they crammed the entire series into the last two seasons.
Didnt they end the Series because they werent sure they would get a seventh Season because Streaming Services were on the Rise so they decided to end it on Season 6
@@John_Raiyder I had heard, that the actresses found out they were getting paid less than the actors. So during contract negotiations they banded together to request more money, equal to the men.
Instead of renewing their contract, NBC ditched the series. It was a big scandal at the time.
The cast was live tweeting with the fans in season 5(displayed on live TV during the episode), and it slipped out, that season 6 was the last season. I was watching it, live, every week.

"There's no way, they can't do that..." - They're being as evil as ever with the "to be continued", but that is half the fun; they're able to get us so invested that it hurts. Just be glad you weren't watching these as they were aired or back in a time before streaming... The terror of maybe missing the conclusion of 2-parter or pivotal episode & having to hope they'll air it again at the weekend or that someone had taped it, those were the days.

Well, there's only six seasons unfortunately, 123 episodes in total, the last season is 13 episodes. Sorry you weren't forewarned about this being a two-parter, but you can always think of the wait as being a taste of what everyone watching live experienced. I love this team & this show, I think David Greenwalt, Jim Kouf, and Joss Whedon, did some of the best team building especially back then. And Greenwalt & Kouf really brought that over in this show. What's notable about Grimm isn't just the main team, it's the secondary characters who become as important, like Trubel, and Bud, and Meisner. And the cultures which become a character in themselves. This show is still one of the most binge-worthy shows I own & I still do occasionally just decide to re-watch Grimm then blaze through it in days. I really enjoy this developing thing between Nick & Adalind, they have some nice onscreen chemistry & it works, at least for me. I'm looking forward to your reaction to the next episode. Monroe and Nick's car talk is so incredibly funny no matter how many times I've seen that scene.
Now for the expected part of my comment:
The big Nadalind episode, also the last episode of season 5 with a direct Nadalind deleted scene, there are technically other deleted scenes tangentially related, but I digress. Now time for my deleted scene fun facts. When I say deleted scene well... its more-so an extension of a scene. Specifically the "I love you" scene, after they hit the bed, the deleted scene extends stuff by nearly 20 seconds, which is crazy. I almost feel bad for David and Claire, imagine having to act that out, which actors almost always say is incredibly awkward to do, just for it to get cut from the episode. To my knowledge that deleted moment is the only time in the show a bed scene goes beyond the initial kiss before they cut to the after moment.
With the deleted scenes sometimes I feel like the creators wanted their cake and to eat it too.
NBC: Guys, the episode doesn't have room for this scene within the time-slot.
Writers: Don't worry, we're filming it for the DVD deleted scenes!
NBC: That's not what the budget is for...
Writers: Sorry, you say something?
