Security concerns aside, I love how this game uses the digital horror genre. A lot of games incorporate the player as a scare, but KinitoPET takes it to the logical extreme. All the computer fuckery really makes it immersive, imo. Can't wait for the new indie game where they leak your social security number

I like how Kinito's dialogue doesn't feel scripted (most of the time) and how this game handles its horror; I like how, even though it makes use of the "Bread, Milk, Eggs, Squick"-type horror, it doesn't get old. Kinito being the Token Evil Teammate of the Kinito crew makes sense in a trophy meta way: he's the only member of the crew who doesn't have an alliterative name ( *S* am the *S* ea Anemone, *J* ade the *J* ellyfish). To remove some of the horror, lemme share this headcanon: All the times that Kinito pauses for longer than usual are all because he didn't memorize his lines and is scrambling to find his script.

I'm currently about 46 minutes and this game is blowing me away with how it uses elements outside of the game to scare you I don't want to say them out loud for people who are reading comments before watching the video but it really is impressive
I seriously love the old windows 95-esque aesthetic for the “desktop” and UI. The sounds and visuals are so nostalgic the mechanical sounds and the sound design is filling me with endorphins. I love it a lot
I played the game before watching the video. He fights you if you have a volume roller on your keyboard. I was rolling it down and he was still trying to raise my volume. He couldn't do anything about my mute button lmao.
What a smart example of meta horror. This was great, it nailed the feel of the era it wanted to emulate and kept the scares coming throughout. I didn't expect the mask to start slipping so soon, but it worked so well because of that.
It took pretty long to get started. like it took nearly 30 minutes before anything interesting happened. Like while I think that was intentional by the creators this was the very definition of a slow burn horror story.
This game isn’t as scary as you think, the developers are trying to hard and are using overused “horror” tropes. That said it is well made, even if the horror is bare-bones. Maybe it will scare a baby

It talks about the souls trapped in it When you play a version of you is created, it feels real, but it isnt sure if it's real because nothing there is real (like that pic in the first minigame) and the black thing showing up waiting for us And these souls are stuck there, you can release them in the true ending.
I think all the secret messages and coded emails are from the programmer, the first one to get kinito'd but his thought process was already in the code so he's in the game too, and now he wants you to read his angsty poems about being a cyberghost.
I play touhou and listen to the soundtracks, and it’s no surprise that I was SHOCKED when I saw Yukari (pcb extra stage boss) right at the beginning of the video :O!! I DID NOT EXPECT THAT...
This game is a good showcase of why I never got one of those computer companions. Of course its not as extreme but its this weird uncanny feeling you have when something mimics to be something else but isnt exactly that. And boy does the start alone creep me out like nothing else. And nothing bad is even happening yet.
I just realised something about the download window text: it displays a variety of warnings such as "stop while you can" and "there is still time" at 6:20, "STOP WHILE YOU STILL CAN" at 6:26, and another "there is still time" at 6:28 Nice touch of detail

Manly, I literally just found this game on Steam and immediately checked if you had played it. The timing of you releasing this video is CRAZY!! I'm so excited to watch you play the game (it is far too scary for me).
It's not a horror game, but One Shot makes great use of computer shenanigans, I can't say too much because it would ruin the twist but although the things it does or changes are very minor, they're executed well as they are all timed along with the story's narrative and do at some point feel unnerving at the very least. I was creeped out by at times anyway.
he not only plays the original actually one shot demo, he comes back for main release AND the later released end game content. he does it all and makes poor me cry for a few days in the process.

I don't want to say them out loud for people who are reading comments before watching the video but it really is impressive
I seriously love the old windows 95-esque aesthetic for the “desktop” and UI. The sounds and visuals are so nostalgic the mechanical sounds and the sound design is filling me with endorphins. I love it a lot

What a smart example of meta horror. This was great, it nailed the feel of the era it wanted to emulate and kept the scares coming throughout. I didn't expect the mask to start slipping so soon, but it worked so well because of that.
It took pretty long to get started. like it took nearly 30 minutes before anything interesting happened. Like while I think that was intentional by the creators this was the very definition of a slow burn horror story.
This game isn’t as scary as you think, the developers are trying to hard and are using overused “horror” tropes.
That said it is well made, even if the horror is bare-bones. Maybe it will scare a baby

When you play a version of you is created, it feels real, but it isnt sure if it's real because nothing there is real (like that pic in the first minigame) and the black thing showing up waiting for us
And these souls are stuck there, you can release them in the true ending.
I think all the secret messages and coded emails are from the programmer, the first one to get kinito'd but his thought process was already in the code so he's in the game too, and now he wants you to read his angsty poems about being a cyberghost.

This game is a good showcase of why I never got one of those computer companions. Of course its not as extreme but its this weird uncanny feeling you have when something mimics to be something else but isnt exactly that. And boy does the start alone creep me out like nothing else. And nothing bad is even happening yet.

And then STOP WHILE YOU STILL CAN at the end BUT the "New Email!" comes in at right the same time, so you will be momentarily distracted! Looks like this is exactly what happened to Manly. He goes "Oh look new mail!" right as the words flash

Manly, I literally just found this game on Steam and immediately checked if you had played it. The timing of you releasing this video is CRAZY!! I'm so excited to watch you play the game (it is far too scary for me).
It's not a horror game, but One Shot makes great use of computer shenanigans, I can't say too much because it would ruin the twist but although the things it does or changes are very minor, they're executed well as they are all timed along with the story's narrative and do at some point feel unnerving at the very least. I was creeped out by at times anyway.
One Shot was played on this channel a pretty long time ago, if you or anyone else was interested.
he not only plays the original actually one shot demo, he comes back for main release AND the later released end game content.
he does it all and makes poor me cry for a few days in the process.
