I live how it ends with a duel between the last Harkonnen and the last Atreides. Their hundreds of years beef ends with only one left standing and the other entirely dead
Good point
For what it's worth, Feyd is not the last Harkonnen. With Paul becoming Emperor, though, their family's political power is over (unless you consider that the new Emperor is 1/4 Harkonnen).
I know what you mean, but theres hundreds of Harkonnen and Atreides relatives
@@crabuki1273 And let's not forget about Lady Margot's baby ^^
Gurney is a swordmaster. His fight with Raban should not have lasted as long as it did. There's no way that unskilled Raban could last against Gurney.
In the books, Paul spends four years with the Fremen.
And if you think that Villeneuve's Paul wins over the Fremen easily, you should see what Lynch did with him, lol.
6:35, the average Bene Gesserit is like an Olympic level competitor in martial arts and track. When they want to they can move almost too fast to follow.
30:17, Paul is almost the Kwitzach Haderach (KW) which is what the Bene Gesserit are working for. He will become the KW in the South.
It just so happens that the KW also fits the Madhi and Lisan Al Gaib myth which the Bene Gesserit fed to the Fremen. The Fremen don’t know anything about the Kwitzach Haderach program.
So essentially he was a manufactured messiah and he capitalized off of the fremen prophecies in order to survive because there was no other way to win the war is what you telling me ?
@@DollarBoiEnt Exactly the Kwisatz Haderach is a breeding project by the Bene Gesserit. This was their power play to gain control of everyone and create a male Bene Gesserit with expanded mental abilities.
The superstitions were seeded throughout various outlying planets like Arrakis. They did this so that when the KW comes forward local populaces roll over and submit.
Baron never used to look like that. The bene gesserit helen cast some spell on him, made him ill, causing him to never walk again.
The Bene Gesserit are not true witches. Nothing they do is magical. Gauls Helen released a pathogen that her body was suppressing into the Baron.
The entire story of the Dune universe is crazier than you can ever think of.....
I’m a have to get into the books
I’m like you man the first time I watched Dune part one I had no idea what was going on and I found it pretty boring, then I saw the trailer for the second one, and decided to look a bit into the lore and then re watch the first one and now dune part two is one of my favorite movies ever. If you decide to look a bit more into the lore and the future books it gets absolutely insane.
I wanna read the books, I used to be an avid reader as a kid and I stopped and I wanna get back into reading some classics. Build up my library. Game of Thrones I wanna get into the books and some other ones.
"That's how we'll win. By being Harkonnens."
The more I rewatch it, the more I realize - he knew exactly what he was doing. He convinces Fremen he is their Messiah so they won't give a shit he is part Harkonnen, and so their highly skilled warriors help him win the fights ahead. Then he cuts all Harkonnen ties to the throne. He kills the Baron, Gurny kills Glossu Rabban, and Paul kills Feyd Rautha. He now has authority over it because of his birthright. Being Leto's son, he is also continuing the bloodline of Atreides - his children will be Atreides. And he is Duke of Arrakis because his father was. He marries the Emperor's daughter and gets to shape the world differently, fixing history, bringing prosperity to Arrakis, bringing the centuries-long war against Harkonnens to an end.
Holy War is a small price to pay for that.
He also now can command Sardaukar and Fremen warriors, the best in the world. Complete advantage.
Cudos to Jessica for defying everything she knew. She fell in love with Leto and decided to give him a son. If it was a girl, she'd be sent to Benne Gesserit from birth, never knowing her father or any other family, just like Jessica was, and she'd eventually be a concubine to psychotic Feyd Rautha. Instead, her son remains at his father's side as his heir, shows signs of immense intelligence and higher power, is capable of Benne Gesserit abilities. Good for you, Jessica.
not enough people see jessica as a mother. she really had to make paul the messiah, otherwise the benne gesserit would have killed paul eventually. jessica needed him to be all of these things in order to protect him. the benne gesserit want people to believe that it was her arrogance. but it was all centered in love in my opinion and understanding of this adaptation.
Also, the “By being Harlonnens” line, is possible a double entendre. It can also be interpreted as being another form of oppressors like the harkonnen. And by being ruthless and leading the holy war
@@bradencarson1572 I took it as our family are a bunch of thug bastiches. So we got to out thug the thugs we related to.
@@bradencarson1572 Brings a new meaning to the first movie, where Leto asks her to save their son as Bene Gesserit, not just as his mother.
13:17, that's one thing I like about the Fremen they are pragmatic as heck. They don't waste water and everyone serves the tribe. Nobody in their society sits around without doing something of collective benefit.
That's why Stilgar moved on Jessica in the first movie. He thought she was just some pampered chick who doesn't do anything all day.
The Atreides who gets killed in the Arena, the asian one was part of the Duke's personal guard. That's why Feyd Rautha says "You fought well Atreides". Everything is black and white outside for the Harkonnen homeworld because of its "Black Sun" and everything is in IR.
I feel this is a movie that gets better and better the more you watch it, and you catch lil things that you didn’t the first viewing, when I’m in reactor mode I tend to miss lil subtleties but when I watch movie regularly I’m better to process and notice lil nuances, this was a phenomenal movie and I wanna see more and learn more about this universe
@@DollarBoiEnt Ye this shit was high key different from the 84 adaptation or whenever the first one came out. But you're right, after the first watch I started noticing little things.
@rxpvblic I wanna watch the original when I get a chance
That Asian guy was Roger Yuan. He is the fight choreographer for the movie. His character was named Lt. Lanville.
5:35 They can’t use the shields because the vibrations would trigger the worms.
The story of the two movies is only a small part of the entire Dune story. Yeah ! read the books, around 22 of them (son Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson), 6 from Frank Herbert the father, this movie is only the first books of the 6.
15:25, the old Reverend Mother is also a Bene Gesserit.
She is part of their Missionaria Protectiva that goes out into various planets spreading false beliefs. Except she been with the Fremen so long she has went native.
7:48 That’s Jamis, the guy who challenged Paul to a fight at the dnd of the first movie.
I forgot about Jamis it’s been a while since I seen the first movie
Love the Dune movies so far the cinematography and everything is just so crisp and unique. prolly gon be top 5 in movie trilogies when it’s all said and done fam
“No shields” in the desert because it attracts worms for miles and drives them into feeding frenzies. That rock wouldn’t save them from 5 worms all going crazy
That’s crazy
36:28 She was in the last couple of Bond movies.
Yea the one Bond had a daughter with.
@@DollarBoiEnt That’s her.
What are you talking about ? Feyd / Paul duel was even until the end of it. Feyd head butt, Feyd kicked him down, Sweeped him, both knocked down, and Feyd stabbed him twice, Paul pulled first one out and took the second one. GOAt duels
Bro it lasted like 2 min are you serious lol that wasn’t an epic duel for me imo
@@DollarBoiEnt 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣 And you’re only one saying that and whining / complaining. It’s a fight to the death, reality based, they don’t last very long. Moving the goal posts now after saying it wasn’t an even. Now it’s too short, FOH
STFU the only one whining and complaining is you, I said in the video I felt the fights were short and not epic, but I liked everything else about the movie. People have different opinions and don’t gotta align their opinions to appease you foh.
Nice reaction. You’re very perceptive. You picked up on a lot of where it was headed that most people don’t.
I appreciate that thanks for watching 💯
Many things were rushed in this film, one reason being that they wanted to avoid a three-hour run time.
I would have taken a 6-hour cut of this movie quality
Movie was 2 hours and 36 minutes should have just made it 3 hours anyway or a directors cut.
i think a 3 hour cut would’ve been appropriate and i think they could’ve drawn in the money. especially if they took 1-2 of those extra minutes to expand the final battle scenes to appeal to the greater audience even more and give them a reason to wait till the end and something a little grander to talk about to sway people to see a 3 hour film. either way, i ultimately am insanely impressed with the director for how well he did with all of the constraints he had. I can’t imagine a better adaptation of the overall themes and story from anyone else at this time
I feel you especially on the making the last battle grander, that’s my main gripe. The movie and story is so epic but the battle were kinda a letdown I feel like the director has to work on his action scene but as far as story and cinematography and music everything was a masterpiece.
38:19 "You fought well, Atreides."
Don't know why but I keep imaging Paul think "Get yo bald headed dead a$$ off me"
What's the problem with people? Why are they always wanting huge action, waiting fot every movie to look like Mad Max Fury Road? Everything must be simple, easy to understand, for the minds of the XXI century... Complexity is boring and difficult to undersand. The setup part in a movie is a lack of action, explosions and car chases that they can't bear.
I'm not talking about this reactor, but he said something about Dune part 1 that made me think that.
56:07 Paul is looking into his near future and repeating what he sees himself say in that future. It has the effect of looking like he knows this guy’s inner thoughts but he really doesn’t
Hey bro, could you please react to
Country dons- trap Talk
Would appriciate it so much. Love your reactions and much love from Sweden
Love to Sweden bro one of my exes lives there lol and I’ll see brother if I don’t get to it I’ll do the next one they drop
@@DollarBoiEnt Bet G🥇, its they’re newest release dropped 2 weeks ago btw🤜🏽🤛🏽
Without first movie build up this wouldn't have been a good movie
Pretty good reaction though overall
Thank you glad you appreciated it.
