Don't forget to do a bead of putty around the glass inside and out. It is very easy to do. I learned to do it 20 years ago because one of the panes in a window in our house got hit by a small rock. I was so intimidated by it at first but once you angle your putty knife just right it's a piece of cake. It will also make sure the water runs away from the glass and wood trim, preventing wood rot! I love all the things that you guys are doing. Journey On!

Jason there is a lot of content out there but yours keeps me coming back for more. You are such fun to watch. You have many great qualities that make it easy to get caught up in the story of your homestead. It has been a joy to watch you build your homestead into what you want it to be. You and Loraine make a great team and keep things constantly moving. Of course I love the animals too. Thank you for all the great content you put out and for being such an honest and hard working guy. Blessings! ❤😊

HI JASON! I have a tip for helping keep shovels, hoes, and such free of rust.
Fill a large bucket, or other container with dry sand from Home Depot, or some such store. Mix in a plant based oil.
Make sure to wipe off tools before inserting into the mixture, after using. It does take a bit of extra time, but could save time in the long run. Not as much rust remediation.
    Best of luck!

Jason, take a look at the glass cutter and see if the end opposite the cutting wheel has a ball end. The idea was you score the glass really well then take the ball end and gently tap along the scored line on the OPPOSITE side. This should crack the glass along the line u scored, then it will snap cleanly on SINGLE pane glass.
Double pane will not cut that way and if you install one that you managed to cut wouldn't you just end up with moisture between the panes? Also cutting tempered glass is another challenge.
It is so great to see you recognize the things you will do differently next time and talk about it! I wondered why you used a 2x4 on the door frame instead of a wider board, assuming you were just building with what you had on hand.
Thank you for sharing it all!
    Blessings

Hello Jason, I use melted beeswax and heat the surface I apply it to. I have used this method for a lot of my hand tools. Axes, sledge hammer, wedges, and various other tools. It works really well for me. Rusty tools are annoying to me because they are too expensive to be messing with rust all of the time. I thought that this might help you because you have bees. Good luck with the rusty tools issue. 40 Shades of Green Farm, west Tennessee. P.S. we are putting the deposit on our first farm animals for the farm today. I found a 4 year old sow and a young boar Kunekune pigs that are coming home by the end of the month.

So I'm thinking you will still be applying petroleum jelly, a lot. Just keep a container right there and when you're done apply..
