  • Is it possible that God is still sending messengers or prophets after Muhammad? This video addresses this question based on a Quran alone perspective. Only engaging comments (including criticism) with genuine strife for knowledge are welcome. Other useless and fruitless comments will be deleted.
    Note:
There is controversy regarding the root word of NABY (prophet).
Identifying an Arabic root word ending in a vowel letter (A, W, Y) is always problematic because, depending on which lexicon you refer to, the last vowel letter may differ and thus change the meaning.
According to MAQAYEES AL-LUGHA (Language Standards), the word NABI (prophet) comes from N-B-W = an elevated place.
Other lexicons may say the root is N-B-A = one who departs news or prophecies.
Based on my research, the Quran clearly teaches us that prophets receive the status of NUBUWA (3:80) which is the root of N-B-W signifying 'an elevated place'.
And it is only through N-B-W can a prophet recieve N-B-A (news or prophecies), Therefore, the definition of N-B-W actually encompasses the definition of N-B-A.
Whether we lean towards one definition or the other - this does not nullify the message of the video presented.
