No one should be taking pictures on the floor unless you absolutely have no other option. It's terrible on the body. I can't believe she does it. Get a table and angle it against the wall so you can take pics without killing your back.
I’m so over particular with my listings and having ALL of the item specifics listed and a massive description. And perfection in the photos. I need to move quicker and stop letting it feel so overwhelming. I have a baby and toddler and get minimal time to peruse this so I need to just get going and not be so pedantic haha. I'm glad you mention putting size after the brand. I find it so annoying when comping things on a phone and the size is at the end and doesn't show up unless you open that item. so many ebay "experts" say it should go later in the title.
You'd want to slightly overcharge your shipping fee because eBay takes a percentage off the shipping fees too. You'll lose money from the shipping fee if you charge the exact amount this is charged for the label.

Fantastic video, Ashley! I have been reselling a long time, but still take too long to list. Your insightful video showed me some areas where I can shave some time off. I usually use a template and fill in the measurements in the description, but it is still not efficient. The way you show measurements is so quick, streamlined and efficient. I think I would enjoy listing a lot more if I was totally streamlined, quick and efficient. I drag it out way, way too long. Thanks for the insight and tips!

Thank you for sharing all your photography tips! I would get such decision fatigue on that Ebay listing page and really appreciate you showing us what you do and don't fill out. For example I would not have thought to pay for the promotion/ad space. I would love to see a video detailing how you process items that are less than perfect - you had a few videos where you mentioned adding missing shoelaces, removing piling from sweaters, etc. It would be awesome to see footage of how you do these kinds of repairs and how much time they take. Would also love to know what YT or Tik Tok channels you follow about repairing items or thrifting in general!
Could you go through weighing and choosing the shipping in detail? I have a lot of vintage china to sell, so it will need to be packaged up carefully. My first two sales i messed up and made almost nothing because i misjudged the ebay shipping amounts for weight and size of box, lol. At least i didnt lose money! Listing through the eBay app automatically puts the entire title as the description - that's the only description I ever use unless there is something noteworthy like major flaws etc. Keep up the hustle! 💪
I list flaws in the condition box, but that only shows up on desktop. It's annoying when you're doing photos and find issues you need to note, but I feel that with the condition description being right beside the pictures on listings, it makes it easier for people to notice and I'm less likely to have issues after a purchase is made.
I found the light box too big as well. I looked everywhere for a smaller one. Never thought of taking it apart, such a great idea. I love the idea of placing it in front of a window as well unfortunately I've taken every nook and cranny of the house as my reselling grows. Now that the cat tree is in front of the window I just feel like I can't take that as well. I liked the tutorial. However, I liked the one where you had/have the templates all already for similar.

That's what takes me so long, too. I have a PC. I have a data transfer cable but it never works right or pulls them in all out of order. I need to learn a quick way to get my pics onto my computer.
I have a pc - I have used Google photos - upload my phone pics to the app. Then open the app on my pc. I still have to download from the Google photos page to my computer but it works . I prefer to work on 10 listings at a time - I draft a listing ( eBay or posh ) from my phone - add the pics from my phone. I save in my drafts . After 10 drafts - I go to my PC and finalize the listings with details . And list !

I like to use the advanced editing section on the right side of description and have setup templates for quick way to paste in my verbiage regarding my normal stuff i pop into that box. Can you talk a little more about choosing your item to be promoted? Is the 5 or 6 percent a fee you’re charged for the promoting? Does your listing come up first on a search? Will they send your listing to people that have had that in their search but not purchased yet?
I think she Airdrops the photos from her iPhone to the iMac. The photos are in her Downloads folder. She does a multiple selection of the photo files in the Finder (by dragging a box around them or click one then hold Shift and click the next, etc. Then drag and drop into the browser window.
Can you make a video about how you transfer photos taken on your phone to your computer and then upload multiple photos with just one click to eBay? I have been selling on eBay for few years and I always create eBay listings on eBay app. I’m trying to figure out how to do it on my laptop. I have iPhone 12 Pro and MacBook Air, and for some reason I can only upload 1 picture at a time. Maybe I need a special setting or something? It should be super easy but I just can’t figure it out 🤦♀️ Thank you.
Hmm... Usually I'm able to click and drag my mouse to select all the photos I want, or I can click each item while holding the command button and it'll keep those I've clicked while I drag them over (multiple photos). I don't know if that helps though! I'm sorry!
I just checked and it looks like holding command button works and I was able to “almost” upload multiple photos. Almost because in each photo frame on eBay I got “image error”. My pictures are in HEIC format and I need to change it to JPG, GIF etc. You see, it isn’t so easy 🥲 PLEASE ASHLEY make a detailed video about it when you have a moment. Thank you.

Yes please! This is the one thing that is holding me back from getting started. Shipping is scary and losing money is not an option. Like once an item sells, I have no idea what to do next..ugh
No one does 12 photos anymore. They use to be required for getting to the top of the algorithm with Cassini. Now it doesn’t even matter and makes no difference from what I’ve been told and noticed over last 5 years.
I generally take advantage of using all 12 but I also don’t obsess over the pics. I get as good of lightning as possible and take photos of all sides, tags, any condition issues up close. I snap away because I prefer 12 photos to long lengthy descriptions in the info section.
Great video Ashley but I am surprised you are still using promoted listing and at 6%, eBay is getting almost 20%. I dabbled in it a little when they first announced promoted listing but I truly found it was not bringing in more sales and was only costing me more money.

Hmm... I'm not sure, I'm sorry! I haven't had an issue like that but I wonder if you can filter them by "newest" from your desktop and then it'll show them based on when you took them, which would automatically place them in order! Good luck!
I am having a hard time figuring out how to reach your information on freight forwarding sales - I am getting a bunch of international fees for USA addresses so I assume that they are freight forwarders. How can we avoid these buyers? And Do you avoid them or sell to them? Sorry I am frustrated and don’t know where else to turn. eBay says it my duty to know who these buyers are but besides DE and possibly NYC I am not sure how to tell to avoid if I wanted to.

So say you accept someone's best offer because that person is located out of the country( only accepted the offer because knowing out of the country you'll make a little more profit) but when he pays his address changes to USA. Is it possible to retract the best offer accepted?
I don’t think you can retract an offer, but you can cancel the order if you select “issue with address” and it won’t harm your selling account as far as I know 🙏🏻
I just measure what the measuring stick says and sometimes it is indeed different from the size tag! I leave the measurement in the photo so the buyer can see, and I use the measurements I take for the item specifics because they tend to be more accurate.

Poshmark has just never had momentum or velocity for me, so I just stick to ebay. I don't have anything against poshmark! I know lots of people do well on it, and I probably would too if I tried! But it's so hard to keep track of multiple platforms and I didn't like the sharing aspect of posh either. My mind is scattered enough without balancing multiple platforms anyway lol. You can click your mouse on the picture and if you press and hold the command button on the keyboard, it'll let you click multiple photos! Then if you keep holding command, you can drag them over all at once 🥰

How do you decide what to sell on eBay vs. what to sell on Amazon?
I have such a hard time air dropping my photos from my iPhone to my MacBook because they tend to scramble. how are you able to do this? is there a trick?
Hmm... I'm not sure, I'm sorry! I haven't had an issue like that but I wonder if you can filter them by "newest" from your desktop and then it'll show them based on when you took them, which would automatically place them in order! Good luck!

I am having a hard time figuring out how to reach your information on freight forwarding sales - I am getting a bunch of international fees for USA addresses so I assume that they are freight forwarders. How can we avoid these buyers? And Do you avoid them or sell to them? Sorry I am frustrated and don’t know where else to turn. eBay says it my duty to know who these buyers are but besides DE and possibly NYC I am not sure how to tell to avoid if I wanted to.

So say you accept someone's best offer because that person is located out of the country( only accepted the offer because knowing out of the country you'll make a little more profit) but when he pays his address changes to USA. Is it possible to retract the best offer accepted?
I don’t think you can retract an offer, but you can cancel the order if you select “issue with address” and it won’t harm your selling account as far as I know 🙏🏻

I just measure what the measuring stick says and sometimes it is indeed different from the size tag! I leave the measurement in the photo so the buyer can see, and I use the measurements I take for the item specifics because they tend to be more accurate.

Poshmark has just never had momentum or velocity for me, so I just stick to ebay. I don't have anything against poshmark! I know lots of people do well on it, and I probably would too if I tried! But it's so hard to keep track of multiple platforms and I didn't like the sharing aspect of posh either. My mind is scattered enough without balancing multiple platforms anyway lol. Amazon and eBay are enough for me! 😂 Thanks for the question!

No paperwork - it's pretty easy! Ebay handles it all so you just ship domestically as per usual.

You can click your mouse on the picture and if you press and hold the command button on the keyboard, it'll let you click multiple photos! Then if you keep holding command, you can drag them over all at once 🥰
why dont you do free shipping? i think people expect item prices to include shipping. just add the estimated amount to the price
