    I played pro baseball when I was younger. I washed out in the low minors like most guys do, but I can tell you that the reason most pitchers can't hit their weight is because the skill sets for pitchers and hitters are completely different and take a lot of time and effort to master (hitters also tend to be terrible pitchers). I'm not sure that most fans realize what an incredible accomplishment it is to be a two way player in the major leagues. Ohtani is just an incredible talent.

    They screwed Ohtani last year. Give the man his flowers. He's doing two things together that nobody has done in 100 years of baseball and they want him to do both of them better than anybody to win MVP? Judge was great and yes, the homerun record chase doesn't come that often but they hyped that whole thing up in my opinion.

    I just wish that Ohtani is at least 5 years younger so we can see him be an elite two-way player for way more years. He's already about to be 29 and I can see him being able to be an elite two-way player on both sides for 5-6 years max. Hope he can prove us all wrong and at least be able to be an elite two-way player for at least a decade more. He's the reason I started watching baseball for real about two years ago now.

    Ohtani's 15 wins with the Angels meant other strong teams won 18-19. Ohtani is also a player who can hit 40 homers and steal bases.
    The 2022 MVP is Aaron, but I personally think Ohtani is the top.
    But I think the reason the Angels with Ohtani and Trout can't win is because of the pitching staff. I think the Angels will become a strong team if they strengthen their pitching staff.

    • @noahmcdaniel4920
      @noahmcdaniel4920 Год назад +3

      The angels had the 9th best staff ERA in the MLB last year. And a bottom 5 offense. Which is why they went out and got 3 solid bats this offseason, and with Rendon returning and hopefully a full season of Regnifo's 2nd half production, nevermind bounce back candidates in Walsh and Stassi, or O'Hoppe having a good rookie season, this could be a really good team.

    • @ykyang5786
      @ykyang5786 Год назад +1

      @@noahmcdaniel4920 Yep, Ohtani, Saurez, Sandoval, and Deitmers all had ERAs under 4. Can't ask for more from starters. Their relief pitchers were also on par. Any one that watched most of those games know they had a lot of 0-1 run games, at least way more than I've seen any of the other teams. They need bats for 2023 to have a chance, especially with the Rangers making a lot of moves too.

He literally won the Cy Young, he should be up with Sandy in the mid 20s. Also, I don’t understand how Luis Robert and Wander Franco get on this list, they’ve been good for spurts, but have not done it consistently. Maybe a homer pick, but I definitely think Luis Castillo deserves to be on this list for sure as well.

Not to mention the lack of pitchers on the list. Guys like Urias, McClanahan, Manoah, Fried, Gallen, Gausman, Strider, Bieber, etc deserve recognition. Just my thoughts.
