Sadly, many people are armchair experts… Like me, they probably live in the north, mowing cool season grasses, and know nothing about warm season grasses. No matter how many times I’ve heard you say, this is the way I do it, the armchair experts always asking; Johnny, why don’t you weed eat first, why electric, why do you cut so low… I’ve heard you say many times, I cut at this height because that’s what the customer wants. I think your tenure in the industry speaks for itself. You’ve got to be doing something right! You’re a good man Johnny! Even though I live in a different area of the country I’ve learned a lot from you! Keep it up and thank you!
Great video and thanks for your time!!! It wasn't until I started watching your vids that I realized that I was mowing some of my properties way too high, I was nervous about dropping that deck down but the outcome left me and my clients with huge smiles!!!💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💚💚💚
Good to see you using your gas mowers. People that’s not in the south like us don’t understand everybody like there grass low. If we cut 4 or 5 inches people would think we didn’t even mow. Good work Johnny
Johnny awesome video Toro does make a 2.5 AH, keep the videos coming have a good one
Great video Johnny and lovely crisp finish to the front and back yards. Many thanks for taking the time to share with us. Really appreciate it. POP SMOKE PEACE ✌️
Depends on the grass you can hit bermuda and centipede at 1.5" no problem, but you need to mow tall fescue at no less than 4"
I love green grass cuting
I think you are doing a great job sir
Your videos are amazing Johny as always
Glad you like them!
I love your mowing videos
I appreciate it!
Your no problem
Thank you 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
You are so welcome
Bermuda looks sexy cut low. At least in my NC yard.
I keep my grass cut long all summer. What is the edger that you used in the beginning of of the video? The grass looks really nice.
I personally mow most yards at 1.75 and generally never more than 2.25 but around here its either bermuda or centipede and 1 yard that is zoysia that get mowed between 2.25 and 2.75. depends on how hot it is.
You the man! Love the videos. I'm in flowery branch Georgia. Lot of centipede and Bermuda.
Very cool!
Very Job Looks Nice
That first person view is epic
I appreciate it, thanks!
I don't like mowing of the grass at a low setting but it is the type of grass cutting you are doing scalping the grass can cause it to not keep the water drying out
I cut at 1 inch reel mower
No lower than 2.50 inches for me Mr. Johnny. We already frustrated with all the homes being on clay base foundations which makes the root penetration difficult in Savannah/Pooler areas. So we have to let the grass get some height to shaded the roots man.
In arkansas I never mow below 2" most get mowed at 2.5". One lady wants hers cut at 4" and it's Bermuda 😂.
Wow thats high for Bermua!
0:20 I always wave 👋🏻 at them but they just stare lol.
Most just stare as well 😂
Appreciate your videos, and thank you for your service to our country. Looking to purchase battery trimmer and blower--would you recommend Husqvarna or Toro? Go Dawgs!
I would recommend TORO because everything works with the battery including their lawn mowers and it's available in the big box stores
Ego!!
Do you double cut? Most times when i cut low, i have alot of grass on top of the lawn. Do you use mulch kit? Or whats your method to prevent that? Thanks
All my accounts are weekly so I seldom have to double cut
The dilapidated gate has you in suspense, lol.
It's been like this for two years
Do you keep a file on each customer with their grass types and any special instructions?
Nah... I know their mowing height
What type of trimmer rack is that in your trailer?
Equipment Defender, look in this video description for link and savings code
Great video, I am in Indiana cutting cool season lawns. I have a customer who request for me to cut her lawn lower than the recommended 3 inches for cool Season grass. I don’t want to go lower than 2.75 but she still want it lower. I think 2.5 will be the lowest I'll go, I’ve already told her that it is harmful to her lawn to go any lower. Do you have any suggestions?
Sadly some customers learn by seeing their lawn burn, as long as you took the time to educate your customer, they have the say so, it's their property
@@Bladesofgrasslawncare Thank you Johnny I appreciate it. God bless 🙌
I want to see what the inside of a landscapers trailer looks like because it looks cool

Personally do things a lot different then you but who cares it all turns out the same , grass is cut , edges are clean and customer is happy. Great video I like to get a different perspective of how others do the same job as me lol 👍🇺🇸
Right on
Have you experimented with keeping your batteries in a cooler with a few ice packs ? I heard that makes the batteries last longer 🤷 what's your opinion?
Never have... I've heard of it but never needed to do it, maybe one day, but it's too much to add to my morning routine 😂
How long do yo take to mow a lawn?
25 to 35 minutes
I've heard you say before you don't stripe. If a customer were to ask, would you do it? If so, would you charge more?
I've been doing this for 13 years and had zero request to stripe a lawn. Striping is not a thing in my area, you don't see it and no one does it or try to because this type of grass does not hold strips.
@@Bladesofgrasslawncare thank you for your response. 🙂
Love your videos man you should come to pcb sometime cut my grass lol (also first)
That would be cool
I think you know what you are doing, high or low!
How was your fourth of July 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great and hope that yours was awesome as well
@@Bladesofgrasslawncare I wish you can cut my yard
It all comes down to mowing at the height request of the dollar bill…
Have you ever scared yourself with the edger.. like almost hit your toes with the blade 😬😅
Never had, please be careful
Nice video so you switch from husqvarna to toro huh
Yup!
Tall fescue here 2.5 minimum height
I like mowing low
Johnny This ain't the same subdivision you always post sith is it?
Nah....
@@Bladesofgrasslawncare your lawns look great.
Not sure if I like gas or electric mower more. I see you use both the Toro grandstand is a Good mower but electric. I'm not sure if u cn trust electric yet lol. I have gas husqvarna z246. Lmk what u think of that mower
I mow my grass low.
Here in eastern North Carolina most residential lawns look good at 2.5 inches. It stimulates root growth and helps the grass to survive stress during dry spells. Fortunately we have been getting some rain in the past week or so.
Don't mow or drive high. 🤣
😂
That’s exactly what my girlfriend said when we met. If you know what I mean. 😮
😂
Johnnie me and my co worker (bosses brother) has been in the landscaping world for about 6 years while I've been in it for about 3 years now and we are mowing in piping-hot Tampa Fl.
We have been discussing about using neck fans to keep ourselves cool this summer as the previous years were just a brutal and we're trying to relieve ourselves of the scorching temperatures this time around!
Do you have any thoughts on neck fans or cooling devices while mowing or servicing a yard?
Do you think they are silly or do you think they are very helpful?
