Darth Vader loved his son so he didn’t want to lose him like he lost Padme and his mother, so he defeated Palpatine, and Luke’s love for Leia and his friends gave him the strength and determination to rescue them from Vader, and his love for his father kept him from killing him. Ergo, emotional attachment.

You're right about how love saved them, my point is that "attachment" according to the Jedi is a specific type of selfishness, best shown when Anakin becomes so afraid of losing Padmé and so angry at her for not being what he wants her to be, that he nearly kills her.
When he saves Luke, that is him finally loving someone else selflessly again, the opposite of "attachment" in star wars canon. He shows compassionate love, which the Jedi encouraged, rather than selfish love, which is what they warned against for good reason. The old order wasn't wrong about attachment, they were just using a different definition than we're used to. That's all.
Man, when Yoda thinks about those Younglings he was training in the Republic era... really got me.
This video gave me goose-bumps several times. "If you choose the dark path..." with Anakin on Mustafar was another such moment.

I love how that "Attachements won't slow my course" shows how Luke changes the jedi code and point of view. How he brings new points of view to a decaying way of seeing the world, or rather galaxie.
In Legends, he did just that. Marriage? Totally okay.
@@darkknight5541 I often think that although the jedi forbid attachment to avoid the emotions of greed and feer that led to the Sith they never seamed to teach what to do when faced by these feelings and that was how Anikin fell. Luke actually made a good choice allowing his Jedi these feelings while still teaching them how to control these feelings.
Tbh Ezra/Kanan did a much better job of conveying the 'attachments are ok for jedi' thing but they also got hours more screentime than luke so...
It's also why the Sequel were stupid. The point of Luke is he elevated the Jedi Order by talking the good of their philosophy and perfecting it. But the sequels had him repeat the exact same mistakes of the Jedi of old, which goes against his entire character arc in Episode VI.
Luke was the best of all Jedi. His role in those films shouldn't have been to fail and be taught a lesson by Rey, he needed to do the teaching to a new generation.

This is probably one of my favorite parts. It seems that for every parody of "Make a Man out of You" I've found, the rewording of these 3 lines end up being my favorite. (They are my 3 favorite lines of the original song as well, and the only lines I can memorize.)
Yes! For me though, the part that always gives me chills is the “A JEDi!” Especially the first one but all of them just give me a thrill because it’s so dramatic!

I was scared Disney was gonna turn star wars into a musical, after this video I actually want it now lol
I love how yoda mentions about attachments by saying it will slow your course, but by the end of the song, Luke fixes it by saying attachments won't slow his course. Fixing the beliefs of what the jedi had before. Now, i don't know much about star wars legends, but if i recall correctly, i believe luke brought the jedi back and fixes all the belief problems they had before.

MASTERHALL117 and theHoodedNerd Check out my My Little Pony parody I made of the song. Somehow I used the original parody by Samuel Kim and used it for my own. Basically, Ocellus is training to be a lawyer so she can represent her friend Silverstream in court, who is bringing charges against Cozy Glow, Svengallop, and Suri Polomare for abuse. Basically her mentor, famous lawyer Atticus Spark trains her to become an attorney and to practice empathy with those around her to better society. It’s the most advanced song parody song I’ve ever done.

I like that when luke starts singing he denies that attachments will slow his course. And in legends he was right. He allowed the jedi of his order to marry and have children and this allowed them to thrive.

Man, I absolutely loved the sequels, I still do, but this kinda brought me clarity on why people hate the sequels, and why I might hate it, This gave me clarity on the fate of the Jedi Order, and how all of Luke's training, and Vader's sacrifice would be nothing, and how the Jedi Order still got destroyed even under Luke's guidance.

This song gives me goose bumps. You've created a one of a kind masterpiece. If the classic trilogy would be recreated as a cartoon this song just had to be in it. Luke's training on Dagobah, the dune sea, when Luke is on his way to the emperor, Vader kills the emperor and when Yoda's, Obi Wan's and Anakin's force ghosts appear, this are the most fitting scenes for this song.

This is incorrect. Yoda would never say, "Then you will you be a Jedi." He would have to say, "Then a Jedi you will be."
