Lori Holman, I’m in no way saying their improvising or jamming is a mistake, that’s one of the best parts of their concerts. I think they are actually even better live. I’m saying by doing that, they may occasionally play or sing an off note here or there, which is fine, because that’s how they get better and better. I love that they don’t play it safe. I really think you misunderstood my comment, it was actually meant as a compliment. I first discovered GVF April 2017 and have been obsessed ever since. I saw them live a year ago and was lucky enough to be able to talk with them. I am very impressed by them as musicians and human beings.

Tim Lazar yea man Jake is my favorite but as someone who has played for 20 years, well really even if I hadn’t, it’s easy to see that based on strict level of skill in the actual playing, Marcus is on top of the world right now, him and that Max Newman fella from main squeeze is unbelievable too.. both the best guitar players since the 80s. Not even close. John notto from dirty honey is awesome as well, sloppier but still up there

I been following these guys for 2.5 years and saw them play in Dallas recently. I have seen the majority of the old Rock bands in my life time as I am 62. I have been waiting for true 70’s Rock & Roll to come back for years and years... Thank you Greta Van Fleet for making me feel young again! Rock & Roll is reborn!
I was at the Dallas Oct 3rd concert at the Southside Ballroom. I was lucky enough to be right in front of the stage closest to Sammy's side. What an AWESOME band they are! I fell in love with them 6 months ago. They're just phenomenal and hopefully will be nominated for a Grammy for best new rock band....watch out for the 2019 nominations to be announced Dec 5th! Jake is a GREAT guitar player and when he plays it behind his head I go nuts....I've only seen one other guitarist do that before and that was jimi Hendrix. What a great career these guys have ahead of them. I LOVE ALL their songs!! ✌🏼 peace

Jake is FAN FUCKING TASTIC! But do you hear his other brother on bass guitar backing him up completely along with the drummer? They are starting to back him while following him as well. They keep him grounded, like a solid anchor & this allows him to soar. They are becoming quite the rhythm section. And if they keep going in this direction I predict they will be able to live Jam just like Zepplin did. Once the floodgates open, it’s sometimes hard to shut them again. Go boys! These guys are true performers. There is no better evidence than this video...I love that they don't just simply run through their songs and say their goodbyes to the crowd. They get a feel for the crowd and react accordingly. That was a WICKED solo! I love that they hold improvisation so highly in their performance. It makes the difference between wanting to come back to a concert of theirs vs. simply playing their music on Spotify. Either way you won't be disappointed. I hope these dudes keep on rockin.
I am 56 and I woke up for work this morning with the highway song buzzing in my head from the night before, funny how music can do that, I think the most notable trait of these young guys and their music is their ability to rekindle a long dwindled adrenal rush music used to give me. Consider I lived through the British invasion and listened to the development of the biggest bands ever to blaze trails into all our lives. What is cool is that Led Zeppelin rose to fame at a time when the world was ready for them and they were not hindered with familiarity and saturation of the genera they would eventually posses , in other words they were not hindered by some of the hurdles GVF has had to overcome , all this music has been done before and done to death for decades , the fact that these guys are catching on so quickly despite that, is testament to just how talented they are , the cohesiveness of their sound the lyrics melodies tempo timing beat inflections and blazing stunningly unique vocals by Josh are what make GVF able to bulldoze through a jaded audience deadened by decades of musical mediocrity and ignite the excitement in people garnishing reactions such as the ones on this blog, to simply say as Dennis Ward has GVF is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and that is their appeal is crushingly marginalizing , my God listen to the acoustic version of Black Smoke Rising, Edge of Darkness these are genuinely masterful songwriters singers and musicians. These guys are on fire and I can’t wait to hear what comes next. I still remember how it felt when I got my first Zeppelin, Stones , Floyd LP and so many other monster talents, the only reason I can remember , and I am being completely sincere in saying this , is that after listening to this entire track , for the first time in decades I felt it again I want to have all my friends over and crank this cool new album buy this new band Greta Van Fleet in its unstoppable infancy and we will all play air guitar and get buzzed laugh and not give a fuck about anything because the music is doing the talking and pulled us all out of our heads to let us live in the moment, that's some serious spiritual currency . Idk why but there is something cool about not going wireless, most bands all use wireless packs but these guys are always wired which feels real retro and kinda cool even if its a small detail about them
Decent cables preserve your tone - really important if you want the kind of lower gain open sound used here. Even the best wireless systems lose a bit of tone.

Saw these guys for the first time on 10/2/19 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in SF. I was absolutely blown away. Channeling Randy Rhoads, Jake did one of the best guitar solos I've ever seen. It won't be my last time seeing them. Thanks MicTheGuitarMan for this great capture.

It’s true , as great as Jake and Josh are, Sam and Danny don’t get enough attention . Remember , this is a three piece. Without a super tight bottom end it doesn’t work. Love this band. Best young Rock band today. Period. They have all the elements.

Idk why but there is something cool about not going wireless, most bands all use wireless packs but these guys are always wired which feels real retro and kinda cool even if its a small detail about them

Decent cables preserve your tone - really important if you want the kind of lower gain open sound used here. Even the best wireless systems lose a bit of tone.

There has to be something said for Jakes incredible accomplishment, his status he has as for the skill he has developed. The skill Jake has at such a young age is nothing short of amazing!!! Just imagine knowing he is going to continue advancing his skills year after year, month after month, day after day. Jake is already legendary. Jake already has the respect of other musicians. Saw these guys for the first time on 10/2/19 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in SF. I was absolutely blown away. Channeling Randy Rhoads, Jake did one of the best guitar solos I've ever seen. It won't be my last time seeing them. Thanks MicTheGuitarMan for this great capture.

It’s true , as great as Jake and Josh are, Sam and Danny don’t get enough attention . Remember , this is a three piece. Without a super tight bottom end it doesn’t work.
