If anyone calls McDavid overrated it just speaks to how uneducated they are in the game of hockey. I’m not an Oilers fan, but I’d be stupid to try and downplay anything this guy is doing. People using the Stanley Cup wins argument to dismiss his greatness is absurd. As a fan of the game just enjoy the greatness you are witnessing. McDavid is the best in the world and it’s not even close. Btw, I’m an Avs fan, and as great and Nate & Makar are, they aren’t on Connor’s level.

As an Avs fan, I agree with everything you said, except for your last sentence. McDavid is the most gifted player I've seen, and he is truly great, but it is only his floor that is so much higher than MacKinnon and Makar. Comparing all 3 playing at their respective ceilings is basically the same as asking if Rice Krispies snap, crackle, or pop.
As an Oiler fan, mcdavid is the greatest in the world but not by far, Nate is right there not far behind, I love tuning in to Aves games just to see him play and it’s always fun watching Oilers vs Aves
@@keenanrayne9170 I respect that. Nate is a true force, and watching him with the puck is the next best thing to watching Connor. Nate goes into beast mode at times and it’s awesome to witness. However, even as an Avs fan, I can’t make a case for him as best in the world. I don’t think anyone else could do what Connor is doing right now. It’s on a level that we haven’t seen since the likes of Lemieux and Gretz. And it’s not just what’s happening now. He’s been putting up crazy numbers for a while. Scored over 60 goals when no one considered him a true goal scorer. Then he follows that up with 100 assists the next season. But, could he do it in the playoffs when teams tighten up on D? Could he do it in the playoffs when time and space are taken away? I believe he has answered those questions with an emphatic yes. He makes everyone around him better. He also gets a bad rap for his defensive play, which I think is insane because he back checks hard and breaks up high scoring chances often. Drai is elite, but he has been a no show in these finals. Connor has taken the team on his back and down unimaginable things, even for him. Nate, Makar, Kuch, Sid (even now), and a few others are elite, but McDavid is all world.

Should absolutely be in the conversation win or lose, he’s compiling numbers that are only behind Gretzky and Lemieux in a single playoff run. As a Flyers fan I just want to see 7, this series has been awesome.

The best player in the playoffs by far, dragged his team to game 6 and making statement wins by notting 4 points. I'm very glad to witness the greatness of 97, win or lose I'm proud of this team playing their hearts out. I sure hope they bring the cup home back to Canada, Panthers arena was super quiet last night compared to the oilers stadium. Let's go boys oilers in 7 with 97 leading the way
100% agree...as a mid 50s old guy...I've seen the Oilers best and worst...win or lose this team plays with heart.
It wasn't the skill that impressed me last night, it was the 200 foot game. He was dominant in every facet of the game. Backcheck, takeaways (i counted at least 5), puck retrievals in the dzone and using his skating to relieve pressure. Not to mention his time on ice.
Keep on cheering Edmonton! OILERS in 7! BELIEVE.
I really hope it goes to seven games, and the oilers can win it, then no one will ever have a reason to claim mcdavid is overrated
People claiming McDavid is overrated have zero hockey knowledge IMO. Can't like the game of hockey and not see how brilliant of a player he is. Gretzky 2.0

But Gretzky wasn't even the best hockey athlete of his own time. His greatness was in quite a different dimension than McDavid's.
Hard to compare on numbers alone. We have to realise the futility of comparing players from different era.

More a comment on the all the gambling that the NHL has now, I think its a bad thing, but if they manage to keep fair and it doesn't affect the game, then I dnt mind really, a lot of people like gambling.
Other than a very hard maybe on Bobrovsky (especially after now having a save% second to Skinner in this series), who on the Panthers would deserve it more? No player has had the impact that McDavid does for the Oilers. After tonight, the Conn Smythe should be his unless Bobrovsky puts up an absolutely alien performance in game 6, and even then. How can you give it to anyone but the guy breaking a Gretzky record and sniffing at another? It would be an absolute disgrace to give it to anyone else as far as I'm concerned. This is the best playoff performance since Gretzky and Lemieux. End of story.

When you're encroaching on Gretzky record territory, no matter the few extra games it has taken, you should be in the Conn Smythe conversation, at the very least.
Personally, as objective as I can be, I think he should get the Conn Smythe. I'm sure he'd rather have the cup, of course, but either way, he's done more for Edmonton in these playoffs, than Bobrovsky has done for Florida.
That doesn't mean Bob isn't right there with him, because he is, it's just McDavid is more important to his team, and that's what the Conn Smythe represents.

I like the Oilers, never been MY team (my kids) but wow. I think CM has to be the favorite for the CS and prior to the last two games I thought the team that deserved it the most was up 3-0. Now at 3-2, I'm not so sure. If the Oil pull this off then they earned it and CM cements his legacy in the NHL with a title... Who the hell can argue Dallas would've made it a better final!!!??? Only a Dallas fan 😂 If my team can't make the final, the Oilers are doing a great job at getting Canada behind them, well except Flames fans but I don't blame them, I would never cheer for the Habs if they were the only team in the league ;)

BOBROVSKY put a lid on this Turkey Roaster in Game 3....Florida will win this and Bobrovsky is by far and away the MVP....Mcdavids a point machine... but so is Mathews and quite a few others like Mckinnon ect....remember the entire NHL has evolved now, Mcdavid is not far and away better than his Peers right now,many players are neck and neck with him offensively.
